Chapter 13 by snowwhite snowwhite

What's next?

The rest of the first day.

{if princessSub > 4}The rest of the day isn't nearly as interesting - mostly legal matters and paperwork that the princess is obligated to sign off on. Still, she seems quiet and subdued through the rest of the proceedings, letting others handle the questions and details instead of involving herself. You give her a few hints here and there but mostly keep quiet - you don't want to make your involvement obvious to anyone watching. Her first day as monarch gives the impression of a kind, benevolent, somewhat shy princess who knows her limits.{endif}

{if princessDom > 4}The rest of the day isn't nearly as interesting - mostly legal matters and paperwork that the princess is obligated to sign off on. It's late in the evening when she's finally allowed to retire to her chambers. You help undress her and ready her for bed while she spills her feelings about the day's events. How wearing the crown is so much more stressful than she thought it would be, how complicated politics can get, and so on. As she sheds her dress, it's as if the persona you'd put on her fades a little, and she's more like the girl you remember before all of this happened.

"Tell me," she says finally. "Do you think I did well today?"
