Close combat, Mei hidden as triumph card

Maybe he could snipe them down, but Jakis could be considered to be practically cannon fodder and therefore they could afford to take a more direct approach, especially because it'd mean more fighting experience for Ren and that was one of the things he'd need if he wanted to make it big as a murim.

Since he had some perfect training dummies, why waste the chance?
Six of them would make a decent challenge, not too hard but also not too easy, and there was also Mei's hidden in case things went south...

Since they had a plan, they moved to implement it.
Ren rushed forward, and the lazying Jakis immediately noticed him... he didn't look like a big threat, and therefore they jumped and crawled his way in order to take down this stupid human daring to bother their rest, all while shrieking and cussing.

However they understimated him, and while it took some time for him to take them all down... well, it was good practice.
Once a some Jakis died a few of the others thought it wouldn't be worth to keep risking their lifes and turned around to run away, but Ren rushed forward and killed a few of the escaping ones while Mei finished off the rest before they could run away.

As a traning this encounter wasn't too bad, but their earning had been poor since the harvested demon cores were barely worth 3 coins...
