Lying

"Why do you want us to wait?" One of the other delivery people asks.

"We have cameras that show the entrance here. We recently acquired this building and there was a lot of graffiti. So we installed them in case the people who made them come back. So I'm going to check them and see if what you said is true. If it's not, then I'd have to ask you to leave. We'll get our furniture from another store." I say and the man, not the one who Luna punched, looks at me worriedly.

"There's no need to go that far. How about we just forget about this and finish this up quickly?" The man who Luna punched says. I see his smirk has vanished and he looks pretty scared. I'm guessing this might not be the first time he's done something like this. That, and we did buy a lot of furniture from this store. I'm sure he'd get in a lot of trouble for messing this delivery up. At least I hope, I'm firing from the hip here.

"Sorry, but I can't just let this go." I say while pulling Luna close. The others have let go of her. "Luna here is my girlfriend. I'm not just going to let someone who sexually assaulted her slide." I say and he steps back. The third man, who hasn't spoken this entire time steps forward. He slaps the man Luna punched on the back of his head. He pushes him down, making him bow before doing the same.

"Sorry for the trouble sir. But could you forgive him this once? I promise it won't happen again." He says before straightening his back again. "I'm just going to be blunt. My brother here will get fired if you send us back and report this." He continues and Asami steps forward before I can respond.

"Alright. But only if he stays in the truck." She says and I sigh before nodding.

"Thanks. Oh and can you delete the camera footage after we leave? This isn't the first time the idiot pulled this kind of thing. It's not that I don't trust you, but he'll be in a hell of a lot of trouble if that gets out." He says and I nod.

"No problem. I made it up. There are no cameras here." I say and he looks at me dumbfounded.

"Then why'd you say there were?"

"I wanted him to admit what he did. Or for Luna to apologize for taking things too far if he were telling the truth. She's a bit of a hot-head." I say causing Innu and Asami to laugh. Luna glares at me. The man sighs before thanking us and apologizing again. The man Luna punched climbs into the passenger seat and they start unloading the boxes. We carry them back inside and pile them up like we did yesterday. Once we're done, the guys leave quickly. They make sure to get the signature, though. Once they leave Liz turns to me. She's sweating lightly and seems excited.

"Eric, are you ready to meet the Dryads?" She asks and I turn to Asami.

"Go on, we can handle assembling some furniture." She says before I can ask if she wanted my help.

"Then let's go." I say to Liz and we walk upstairs to the rooftop garden. She walks up to the portal before reaching out. She creates a small green light between her hands that quickly moves to the portal. It expands and grows until it fills the portal frame. As soon as she's done I see Treena and Layla walk out. Their green hair still has leaves and sticks in them. They're still wearing a T-shirt and jeans.

"Thanks for meeting with us Eric. I heard you got injured and wish we could've waited more." Treena says.

"It's fine. I've basically recovered by now anyway." I say and she smiles.

"Follow me. Asami made sure to get a meeting room ready for us." Liz says before leading the way inside.

"Who's Asami? I don't think you've mentioned her before Liz." Layla asks while we walk. I see both of the Dryads admire the garden before we leave.

"She's the secretary to the Steele Wolves. She's a Neko Beast man with the Stigma of Truth." Liz says, before opening the door to a meeting room. She steps inside and we follow. I look around and smile. There's a medium-sized circular table in the center of the room. On it are four empty cups and a pitcher of water. There are six chairs surrounding the table. There are a few plants for decoration in the corners of the room. There's a large window on the opposite side of the door showing the small forest we have nearby. We can see a few tall buildings on the other side of the trees.

"I thought you guys were still setting this place up?" Layla asks while taking a seat. Treena sits next to her and I sit across from them. Liz joins me after filling the cups with water.

"We are. We've gotten most of the furniture today and yesterday. But we're waiting to see how it all looks before getting the rest. Most of what we need after today is for decor. Except for the dorms on the third floor. We're still not sure what all to put in each room." I reply and she nods.

"So Eric, did Liz tell you about why we're here today?" Treena asks.

"No, she did ask if I was willing to enter into a Pact with you. But that's all she's said about it." I reply and she nods, but it doesn't seem like she's shocked. I wonder if she asked Liz to not tell me anything. Last time she got upset when Liz didn't tell me why the Dryads wanted to see me.
