Sneak attack on wild Jakis

Ren had no real fighting experience as a murim and using energy, whereas Mei did have the chance to experience a few fights back in her sects but none were of the kind where a loss would bring dire consequences... as a result, regardless of how strong or weak they were, it'd be a first for them to fight for their lives (or their chastity, in Mei's case).

Therefore they didn't go too deep in the woods, instead trying to find some easy targets to get some actual hunting experience first... and as luck would have it, there were a bunch of Jakis ruining the local enviroinment by bulling a few rabbits and trying to smash down trees trice their width. It could be said that it was futile **** and while the rabbits would still cry out at such ****, there was no way those large trees could be felled by such attempts.
But for those little vermins it didn't matters, the Jaki were that kind of weakling demon that just liked using meaningless **** against those weaker than themselves and ruin (or at least attempt to) the enviroinment.

The couple noticed them from afar, and it was Ren's turn to show what he was capable of.

Since they had some distance and held the surprise factor, he decided to use his bow to take them all out.
Take the bow, draw the arrow... his energy would then focus on his eye.

Heavenly Eye - First Tier: Human Eye

The Heavenly Eye was a technique his old master found in some ancient ruins and from what was written down, it was a top level eye technique made up of four tiers.
Human Eye would push the performance of one's own eyes to the limits of what an human could achieve.
Spiritual Eye would push the eye's performance further beyond, being able to see through everything. See through stealth techniques, see through spiritual beings like ghosts, see through the unseeable.
The old master had reached this level, and from what he said if he managed to reach the top of this tier he'd be able to see even if his eyes were to be gouged out.
Earth Eye was said to be able to see everything that happened over the earth, apparently a form of farsight, whereas the final tier Heavenly Eye would be able to see everything under the heavens as if having an eye in the sky.

It all sounded great, but even using the simple Human Eye needed a great degree of energy and the later tiers were just dreams for now.

Still, using the first tier with his archery would mean he'd be able to improve his aim and as long as his skill with the bow could keep up, each shoot would be a bullseye!
And proficiency with his skills was his main strength, which meant... the Jakis didn't even understand when they came under attack nor where it was coming from, they were all dead before they knew it, one arrow to the head for each of them.

The couple cheered and went to get their loots, the demonic cores.
Those were the focal point of a demon's cultivation, and could be sold for money... Jaki's cores were supposed to be cheap and some worth literally nothing, but at least they'd gain some coins!

Ren killed 6 of them and his luck was quite good, all 6 of them had good cores... each would only be worth 1 coin, but at least there were no duds among them!
