What happens now?
Never a Dull Moment
The Demeter’s bow cuts through the fetid waters of the harbour, steaming at quarter speed towards the anchorage. The crew have prepared the cables and fasten her to the quayside bollards. You spot a variety of onlookers; longshoremen looking for work, whores equally ready for your crew, and a variety of hawkers and peddlers of fatty food and useless trinkets.
Apart from the throng stands a familiar shape. A man dressed in the blue livery of his master, ill-fitting to his haggard body, paces through the crowd and rushes aboard as soon as the gangplank touches the wharf. You greet the Cerulean Factotum with exceeding courtesy, but he talks at you without registering your words:
”Are you well? And how fares the cargo? {if The One-Eyed Captain’s Health > 0} That One-Eyed Captain of yours fares well, by the by. Considering. She has reached St. Mara’s. My master made sure that she will receive the best care possible.{elseif The One-Eyed Captain’s Health = 0 }My condolences, by the by. She was a remarkable Captain, and she will be missed.{endif} I have taken the liberty of arranging your accommodations at the Grimalkin & Rooster. No need to thank me. It was by orders of your patron, my master. Speaking of: The Cerulean Titan sends his regards and extends his invitation. A carriage awaits.”
