Entering the Asylum

"It's dark. It's cold. It's All Hallows Eve! This is Regina Clouseau with my sidekick in the paranormal Chloe Atherton, streaming to you live just outside what I call the Brickle Berry Asylum for the mentally insane. Isn't it exciting? We're all dressed for the cold weather, as you can see. Say hi everyone!" Regina turned her own camera on her chilled group of associates, who didn't look at all thrilled to be there. But they all smiled and waved at the camera.

"So what is the plan for tonight's show?" asked Chloe. "Besides keeping each other warm, that is."

"I'm glad you asked that Chloe," responded Regina. "We are all going to spend the night inside Brickle Berry to see if it is haunted as so many stories have claimed. Now everyone knows I'm the biggest skeptic when it comes to believing in the paranormal. My team and I have uncovered many hoaxes since we've started our little venture. So tonight, we will put those stories to rest once and for all. Join us as we lock ourselves in the asylum overnight."

"To make it more interesting," said Chloe, "we each have our own personal camera. We will all go to different areas of the asylum. We'll also be carrying EVP's and temperature detectors so we can monitor any strange activity that may occur along the way. So stay with us as we will be bringing everything to you live as it happens!"

"Now it's time for all of us to enter the asylum," said Regina. "We will travel as a group until we reach the main lobby. Once there, Mike will take the basement, Michelle will stay on the ground floor, Chloe will take the second floor, Jasmine will take the third floor, and I will take the fourth floor. So come with us, and be prepared to be scared, or not!"

"Cut!" yelled Mike. "That was one of your best intros ever! Nice job Regina and Chloe! I'm checking my iPad now, and it seems like our numbers are through the roof! We just passed 50K viewers!"

"Let's open these doors and get inside!" Michelle shivered. "It's getting colder out here!" Jasmine nodded in agreement.

The group approached the main entrance and opened the doors. But Chloe hesitated. "Are you sure you want to do this Regina?" she asked. "I'd feel a lot better about this place if we at least went in pairs. I really don't feel safe being alone. Something feels off here."

"Nonsense!" responded Regina. "Besides, we've already told our viewers the plan. Our ratings will fall if we change it now. So come on. Let's go." She held the door open and motioned for the others to go ahead and enter.

"Reggie, you're such a pain in the ass!" Chloe commented as she went through the door after everyone else.

"That's why you love me," smiled Regina as she entered in right behind Chloe. "Nothing's going to happen." The door suddenly slammed with a loud boom behind them, which caused Chloe to jump and turn around. She tried to sidestep Regina, but she wouldn't allow her to. "It's just the door being pushed shut by the wind. Now let's go."
