Chapter 22

Who is going to leave? And does Eve wear the bra?

Eve's rescue

Eve stared at the bra, weighing her options. On the one hand, she was currently naked with only a pair of shoes to her name. And with her shirt now in Andrew's possession, she desperately needed something to wear on top. On the other hand, there was no way that Sam's bra would fit around her frame, and she'd go right back to square one if it slipped off her. She sighed.

"Thank you for the offer, Sam." Eve said, "I really want to put it on, I do, but there's no way that that bra is going to fit me."

"If you're sure." Sam said as she slipped her bra on. "So, who's going through the vent?"

"As much as I hate to admit it, Eve's the only one of us who looks like they could fit through there." Robin commented.

"Well, let's get this over with." Eve said, turning to Sam again. "Sam, you're the tallest. I need you to give me a boost."

Charlie had walked through the gates of the teaching zoo, looking for any sights of Andrew or the girls. The last thing he expected to see, however, was Andrew practically dancing around a shirt outside the corn snake exhibit, naked, splotchy, and smelling like a sewer, as a corn snake slithered out of the shirt sleeve.

"I hate snakes!" Andrew spat, as he ran off. "Eve's shirt isn't worth it! I'll just cut them off at the auditorium!"

Charlie hid behind a sign for the hyacinth macaw exhibit as Andrew ran past and bolted towards the front gate. As soon as the other man left, Charlie came out from hiding and came up to the shirt as the snake crawled into the bushes.

The second he came close to it, however, he recoiled in disgust. Apparently, Andrew must have gotten the skunk musk on him onto Eve's shirt. Picking up a stick, Charlie picked up the shirt and carried it over to a trash can, throwing it away just as he heard a noise coming from the corn snake exhibit.

Eve grunted as she dropped from the vent, outside the exhibit. "Okay, I'm out!" She said through the door, "I'm going to unlock the door now."

"Eve?"

"Eek!" Eve squeaked as she covered herself, spinning around to face behind her. She calmed down a bit as she recognized it was Charlie that was behind her. "Oh, hey, Charlie. You didn't happen to see Andrew and my shirt, did you?"

"Yeah, Andrew was heading towards the auditorium." Charlie replied, "As for your shirt, Andrew dropped it when a snake crawled out of it."

"Where did he drop it?!"

"Trust me. With him covered in poison ivy and skunk juice, you wouldn't want that shirt."

"Great. Although, I was wondering why he stank so bad." Eve commented with a chuckle. A second later, she looked concerned as she asked, "He's on his way to the auditorium? Right now?!"

"Yeah, but don't worry." Charlie assured, "My friends and I pretty much collected all your clothes except for whatever's there already. We'll meet up with you there once we regroup."

"Thanks, Charlie."

"Just for the record, you girls know that I'm not doing this so that Sam will date me, right?" Charlie asked, concern on his face. "I mean, I've been crushing on her for years now, and I know she'd laugh in my face if I told her, but I'm not gonna **** her to date me if she doesn't want to."

Inside the building, Sam swooned with a dopey smile on her face, the goalie falling back into Robin's arms.

"He likes me..." She sighed happily, "He really likes me. Oh, that man is getting the kiss of his life when this is over."

"Oh, I think we know you're not the kind to do that." Eve said with a knowing smirk, having heard the goalie in the building. "See you there, Charlie."

Giving Eve a quick goodbye, Charlie turned and left the zoo, texting his friends to meet up with him at the auditorium as he raced there to keep an eye on Andrew.

Once the man was gone, Eve turned around again and unlocked the door, opening it as Sam came skipping and twirling out of the building with a goofy smile on her face.

"He likes me! He likes me! Charlie really, really likes me!" Sam chanted in a sing-song voice, giggling like a school girl as Robin walked out and closed the door behind her.

"I'm sorry, are we in kindergarten again?" Robin asked teasingly, chuckling when Sam playfully stuck her tongue out at her.

"Come on!" Eve said, gesturing to the front gate. "We have to get to the auditorium quickly!"

"Wait, isn't there a play tonight that Dean Charleston is attending?" Robin asked as the three ran for the front gate.

"Then we better hope Charlie and his friends are there before we are!" Eve replied.

"Wait, Charlie said he never told me about his crush on me because he thought I'd laugh at him." Sam commented, "That's so weird. I never told him about my crush on him because I was afraid he'd think I was making fun of him."

"Yeah, funny how life works, I guess." Robin commented as the three made their way towards the auditorium.

Are Charlie and his friends there before them?
