Rats, a ring, a clue

At dawn Ambriel gathers and travels again in the forest. What else could she do....

while traveling in the forest Ambriel comes across a corpse of a former adventurer. big rats are gnawing on it and as ambriel crosses their path they hiss angrily and try to bite her, smelling fresh flesh

"yikes!"

"let's try this sword"

ambriel hits

some rats die, some skitter of, only one very large rat remains

the shield is useful, as without it, the rat would have landed a bite.

Ambriel lashes at the big remaining rat

"filthy creatures... "

she looks upon the dead adveturer

most of the gear is rotten and useless, but ambriel can find a pouch with a few rupees, a currency commonly used ; five green rupees are in the pouch

Ambriel has no idea of the value, but it's still curency

then she tries to dig a grave, and put the adventurer in it.

She says some words for the peace of that poor soul.

a fight against vermin and a good action, that made Ambriel in good spirit, fully motivated. She goes further.

it seems her good deeds are getting rewarded. when she is done burying the dead, she can hear an angelic bell and light shines through the canopy once more, manifesting in the form of a ring

she grabs the ring and looks at it, before puting it on a finger

she identifies the ring as the Ring of Varthrax. once a great dragon lord, e is now a legend of old. this ring improves the combat prowess of its wearer

_with that new pretty ring on her, Ambriel resumes her travel_with her new found faith ambriel feels a faint spark of divinity that guides in a certain direction, promising an escape from this wretched place

Ambriel makes camp, today was a good day, with her faith strengthened. She hopes that'll continue

again after eating the last fruit, she can feel a change on her body. it's not obvious at first but it seems her hip has grown and become plum, giving her an impressive hourglass figure
