Chapter 6 by ElizaLariana ElizaLariana

What should I do?

Give the stinky man a ride

I relent, sitting as far to the side of the only bench in the back of the van, as far away from the opened door as I can get from the man. "Nothing wrong here," I say.

"Come on in...?" Victor gestures to the man with a handshake while also pulling him into the back of the van. He trails off in a question, letting the man finish his sentence by giving his name.

"Lucas," the man says, respectfully taken the other end of the bench. At least he as the observation skills to know that another person is disgusted by the stench he's giving off. He does not pay any mind to girl simply tolerating him in order to not kicked out of the van. His eyes are waiting for Victor to explain why he is in the van.

"Any place we are taking you, Lucas?" Victor asks, closing the sliding door, preventing anyone outside from listening in while also trapping whatever scent is coming off of the homeless man's body.

"I guess you can take me to the homeless shelter on the outskirts of town. I kinda want a roof over my head while also getting a good dinner. The last couple days have been rough," Lucas says. If I wasn't in this body and especially not in this van with him sitting a couple feet away from me, I would have sympathy over Lucas and give him some money for said dinner, but then I think about extending that line of generosity with a ride like Victor has granted him and I reconsider. I don't think I would have enough sympthy to power on through the smell of weed coming off his body.

Victor produces small stack of twenty-dollar bills and hands it to Lucas. He is surprised at the offer and like anyone who humble enough to not need a grand reward, he refuses the money. "Please, take it, spend it on yourself or someone else. Pay it forward, as they say," Victor kindly argues. "mc_f} here has taken money from me to, much more than you're getting, but that's why I'm paying her to offer her services for free. While we take you to your destination, she is available for any relief that you wish."

"Services?" Lucas asks.

"Charlene, will you kindly show our guest what I mean?" Victor asks, giving me a stern look that reminds me that I explicitly stated there was nothing wrong with Lucas climbing aboard the van. If I refuse to show the man what he means, he is likely to kick me out without a warning. I lean forward to reposition myself, but when I do, the van lurches forward, making my footing unstable. Victor reach out to keep me upright, but in the same movement, her whispers into my ear. "I'll give you the option what position your present yourself in. This way, everyone stays happy."

What position will I choose to perform the service to Lucas?
