A note (Ring of the Serpent path)

Feeling invigorated after my shower, I grab my keys and wallet, and with a mix of excitement and anticipation, I step out of my apartment to explore St. Louis in search of food. As I close the door behind me, I take a moment to observe the surroundings. The hallway, warmly lit, has doors to other apartments lining both sides. The beige carpet is plush under my feet, and a few potted plants, strategically placed along the corridor, add a touch of greenery and life to the space.

I notice a small, white envelope slipped under my door. Curiosity piqued, I pick it up and see that it's addressed to me, the new tenant of apartment 3B.

I carefully open the envelope and pull out a neatly written note. It reads:

Dear John,
Welcome to your new home in St. Louis! I hope your move went smoothly, and you're settling in well. I wanted to provide you with some helpful information about the neighborhood to make your transition a little easier.
You'll find Mario's Trattoria just a few blocks away on Clinton St. It's a family-owned Italian restaurant with delicious homemade pasta. I'm a regular there, and I'm sure you'll enjoy their cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. For groceries, I recommend Harvest House Grocery. It's well-stocked and has everything you might need. And for your commuting needs, the nearest metro stop is only a 5-minute walk from our building.
Please remember that your rent for this month has already been paid, but your next payment is due by the end of the first day of the upcoming month. If you find anything unsatisfactory or in need of maintenance in your apartment, please contact our maintenance man.
