Talking, Of Course

I appear in my apartment and leave. I take out my Motorcycle and drive to the joint guild halls. I don't go back to the room where I entered my Domain because I don't know if it's busy. I park outside and store my bike away. I walk inside and find Strom waiting by the door. He's drinking a cup of coffee and looks tired.

"Eric!" He says when he sees me. He gets up and spills some coffee. He runs over and looks at my hands. "Is it true Eimbis and Barai merged!?" He asks and I nod.

"Yes, the Synergy Circle is called Union." I say before describing the skill to him.

"When the cooldown is over can you bring them here and let me see it?" He asks and I nod. As I do I hear Sugano call out to me.

"Hey Eric!" She says, almost shouting. I turn and see her on the other side of the room.

"Good morning Sugano." I say and she smiles.

"Are you here to talk about yesterday?" She asks and I nod.

"I'll get out of your hair then. Don't forget what we talked about Eric." Strom says excitedly before leaving.

"What did he ask about?" Sugano asks while leading me out of the reception area.

"He wants to see Eimbis's and Barai's Union skill they used yesterday." I say and she nods.

"So it was your Synergy Circle. Liz thought it was another part of your Mana Fusion skill." She says and I chuckle. She leads me to another meeting room, the same one I walked into after I first woke up here. Inside is Kallen, Kagyama, Myla, and Hino.

"Good morning Eric, we didn't think you'd be here this early." Kallen says when I enter. I see his arm covered in bandages, but he does move his hand around.

"We're supposed to get the deed and blueprints for our Guild Hall later today. I thought I'd get this done early so we could get started on that." I say and he nods.

"Then getting right down to business, how long have Gaia and Bergeth been back." He asks and I think it over.

"I used Mana Fusion to help Gaia revive herself six or seven days ago, before my Midterms. I revived Bergeth on Saturday. But don't worry about him. I had Liz make up a Pact for us. She didn't know what it was for, but Bergeth signed it. It prevents him from blindly killing people and from leaving without notice." I say and he nods.

"For the record Eric, we aren't mad or upset that you didn't tell us. We trust you and we're sure you had your reasons. But we will need to report this. The other Gods will have reported Gaia's resurrection to the government. And they'll ask us these questions." Kagiyama says and I nod.

"It's fine. I understand." I say and he nods.

"Then what about Verona? When did you meet her?" Hino asks.

"Gaia asked me to meet her. She wanted me to deliver a message for her, but Verona knew I was a Devil when she saw me. She attacked me and after fighting her, I managed to talk her down. I brought her to my Domain and she decided to help me fight the Demon God. She's been a big help since." I say and she nods. Kallen, Sugano, and Kagiyama look at each other and nod.

"This next part won't go on any of our reports or records." Kallen says before leaning forward. "But where's the Demon God? We know he was sealed, and I assume you and Verona grabbed the object he's sealed in."

"Yes, we did. Well, Verona did. He's sealed in an orb. She put him in a box covered with Runes. She said she made it contain him until we were ready to fight him." I say and they nod.

"So you've decided to unseal and fight him?" Myla asks and I nod.

"Yeah, this won't end until I do. Besides, Verona won't let me back out. I can tell she's been holding a grudge against him for a while." I say and they nod again.

"I'm sorry to say this Eric. But I don't think we can help with the Demon God. We barely held our own against the Devils. And we don't have anyone stronger than us in our guilds." Kallen says and I nod.

"That's fine. Besides, there's still the Litch King and the Katorg guild right?" I say and they all sigh.

"With the Oni and the Devils, I forgot about them." Kallen says and Kagiyama chuckles.

"Yeah, it has been hectic lately." Myla says and I nod.

"Speaking of, do you have any leads for them?" I ask.

"Kind of? We've set several traps for them. Now that the Devils are gone too, I'm hoping they'll panic and make a mistake." Kagiyama replies.

"Oh yeah, what's your plan with the Devil of Temptaion now?" I ask them and they go silent.

"The Devil of Temptation is dead." Kallen says and I go wide-eyed.

"What? What happened?" I ask in shock.

"When we returned we discovered he had bled to ****. We reviewed the footage of the camera in the room and found out what happened. The Demon God possessed him as he did during your talk. He bit his wrist and bled out. Before dying he wrote See you soon in his blood." Kagiyama says and I grimace.

"Why would the Demon God kill his Devil?" I ask and he sighs.

"We think he did it to power up. He has to give a piece of himself to create a Devil. So by killing Temptation, he recovered that piece. He's getting ready to fight you." Myla replies and I nod. After a few moments, I stand up.

"Well, if that's all your questions I'll be leaving. I say and they nod.

"Oh wait! Eric, could you call us when you head down to your Guild Hall? We want to see what your plans are." Hino asks and I nod. I return to my Domain and see Innu awake. She's eating some breakfast with Verona.
