A few hours later

The cart finally comes to a halt.

You've heard the drow talking to even more drow, but couldn't understand what they said.

There's quiet a commotion around you, and you begin to think that this camp might not be as small as you hoped it would be.

After the cart has stopped moving, the voices of the drow faded into the distance. They were laughing about something.

Didn't know these monsters had humor, you think, as you slowly glide out from under the blanket, drop to the ground, and roll right under the cart. It's very dark, but you see other carts and more loot. A warehouse probably. And you see a sliver of blue light, coming out a slightly ajar gate, on the other end of the warehouse.

You stick to the walls while approaching the gate. You want to just stick your head out real quick and...

Your jaw drops. It's a huge city, with giant towers reaching far into the massive, open cavern space. Everything is drenched in dim blue light, radiating out from the blue stone the entire city was built of.

"Shit."

Paladin would probably give you a look for cursing, but he's not here now is he? He's somewhere in this godsforsaken city, full of some of the most dangerous monsters in all the realms.

Right now you're looking out at a large courtyard, with a couple more buildings like the one you're currently peeking out of. There are a couple alleys, leading away from the courtyard and... wait, was that a halfling just going by? WAS THAT PALADIN?!

You peer down the alley that you'd swear you just saw him walk through. He was in his underwear, his wrists bound with manacles, and he was being pushed forward by that same, eyepatch wearing bitch that caught him in the first place.

If you could follow them, you'd probably be able to break him out at night or something.

As much as his constant preaching and nagging gnaws at your nerves, just seeing him took a huge weight off your chest. With him leading the way, your chances at finding the others will grow tenfold!

You're just about to make your move, as a large, dark purple hand lands heavy on your head.

"Well what do we have here?"
