How Do Things Go Next

The Shinobi Village Sends Travel Accomedations

Usagi had finally managed to discreetly get in touch with the village; ironically, it was on the journey to the dungeon. And she had just recently gotten a response back; there was quite a bit of excitement in their response, and they were in agreement about her assessments. So, it was decided, the village would send one of its elite members with an encrypted teleportation scroll to take Yuri and the ones that were basically orbiting him, which now included Alma. If her calculations were correct, her superior would be arriving in the next day or so, if not later this very day. In the meantime, she and Alma had been assisting with the construction work.

The bathhouse was coming along surprisingly well, and the atelier was going through another round of revisions thanks to the arrival of Alma. The foundations for the bathhouse were all set, for the most part, and the pipes to bring in water and cycle the water into a cleaner state were still being set up. The survey teams had found a surprisingly large subterranean lake. As per Yuri’s suggestion, one of the connecting pipes was being rigged to divert water to the rest of the town and have its own recycling system and waste management system, but it would be quite sometime before that particular pipe was laid. The idea of a communal water system, complete with lines dedicated to waste management, was an entirely new concept to everyone. Yuri wasn’t too surprised, given the apparent technology level of the world, as he had seen it, but was a bit more surprised by the presence of materials like latex in this world.

And, of course, when a new development popped up, Yuri and the women that were basically his dedicated harem, were usually brought in to speak with Selvina in the Guild Master’s office. Yuri had confirmed that elastic didn’t exist as a substance, it barely existed as a term outside of academic circles, but attire like lingerie, which Selvina was basically seen wearing exclusively, still managed to exist in this world. After some asking about various things for the weeks had been in this world now, Yuri had managed to confirm that the materials were given some elastic-like properties via magic. After he had described elastic as a material, Althana and Thelsia began brainstorming on how to produce the material after the atelier was set up; Althana even started a new set of notes on the subject by writing down the properties of the material as an objective for her work. Usagi, too, had a vested interest in this project. In fact, Usagi took her own sort of discreet notes about many of the things Yuri talked about regarding his world; she was especially interested in things regarding what he mentioned about explosives, firearms, and communication; she took a special interest in Morse code, radio, and pocket-sized versions of the technologies he was aware of.

Selvina was at her her desk, looking over messages, missives, and the like that came in. For the most part, it was the pretty standard fare of what usually came in, to the point she could pick up on what documents basically said by a glance and feel. One of the messages she had received was made of a different kind of parchment; the look of it had a pulpy grain structure and felt different than what she was used to dealing with, and thus caught her attention. It was a message from Usagi’s village that was addressed to Selvina herself; it let her know to expect a new liaison from that village by the end of the week’s end. It was probably a good idea to call Yuri and his entourage to come and see her and share the message.

__________***********************************_____________

“What more can you tell me about latex and rubber,” Althana inquired to Yuri.

Yuri and most of the rest of the girls in his unintentional harem were all wandering around near one of the areas Althana thought might be good for her atelier, the side closer to the woods a bit more easterly. Thelsia was meeting with Selvina about her obligations. They were all wandering around in shapes and sizes; they each envisioned the structure being on the outside, with Althana giving a new gesture Yuri had recently taught the group, the “thumbs up.”

“Latex is usually synthetic, but not always,” said Yuri, “from what I can recall, the dictionary said something about is that latex also exists as 'a milky liquid in certain plants, such as milkweeds, euphorbias, poppies, or the plants to yield’ a kind of rubber produced in a specific region of my world, ‘that coagulates on exposure to air.’ So, if you can find similar plants and extract the appropriate liquids from them for your research." "

"Do you have access to a botanical guide for your world to show these plants to me," inquired the gnome.

“Sorry, no,” said Yuri apologetically, “I think I had a few in my house back home, along with guides for comparing them to their fantasy equivalents in different settings and stories. So, the likelihood of you being able to look at any of that is almost non-existent for the time being. That might change at some point, but I don’t think that will happen in the foreseeable future, as far as I can tell at this time.”

“Well,” said Althana as she jotted some notes down in the book she was holding, “that’s a start, I suppose. I think I know what some of those plants are, but I’m going to need to see something to compare them against, so I’m not making the request out to those better suited to resource gathering.”

Thelsia arrived around this time; she seemed to be in a bit of a hurry. “Whoa,” said Yuri, “where’s the fire?”

“Interesting choice of phrase,” said Usagi as she got up closer to where the group was and had stopped, “the guild master just received a message from Usagi’s village,” the group did a quick blink of surprise before turning their attention to the rabbit woman for a moment before back to Thelsia, “seems they are sending a better-equipped envoy within the week.”

“That usually means they will be here the day the message arrived,” said Usagi, “or the day after. I finally found a secure time and way to get in touch with the village recently, and I anticipated they would probably move this fast, but I still thought we would have a bit more time before the message arrived. I suggest you prep for a trip; we’ll likely be leaving for a few days, possibly weeks.”

“Given the nature of what I am,” said Yuri as he headed for the inn, “best to let the appropriate parties know; who wants to let the innkeeper know we’ll be out for a noticeable period of time?”

“I’ll take care of it,” said Usagi, “I really don’t need much time to prep; comes with the training.”

“Thanks,” said Yuri, turning his attention to Thelsia, “any clues on where we are to meet the new leporine shinobi will meet us?”

“Selvina said the note was sparse on details,” said Thelsia, “and that was not something mentioned.”

“Then we’ll meet outside the guild building when we’ve taken care of what we need to,” said Yuri. The group then split off to gather their equipment and pack for the trip, it wasn’t too hard for Yuri since his bag was always packed, but that was mostly because he didn’t feel comfortable getting all that clothing out of the bag. It had been a few weeks, almost a month, since he arrived in this world. And all he really managed to gather about the place were the facts it had magic, and everything tended to lean more towards erotic, kinky, porn, and hentai parodies with attire and armor but only for individuals that reached proper maturity, which was around 18 or 19, thank thankfully.

Yuri really hadn’t seen any children in town, he hadn’t even seen any signs of a public school or play area, and the youngest individuals he had seen were likely the lower-rank priestesses at the temple; he was thankful the less skimpy attire went to the lower echelons of the church but was still weirded out, on a few different levels, by the fact the higher a cleric got in the religious order, the less they usually tended to wear as part of their vestments. He really didn’t have anyone he could consistently turn to for knowledge on religious matters, and the ones with the knowledge he did have access to were pretty limited on just what it was they knew. Yuri shook the thoughts from his head, for the time being, as he made his way into the inn and the room he had been assigned to grab his bag and gear, give everything a quick check, then make his way to the agreed meeting spot.

*****************************************************************

Only a minute or two of waiting near the outside of the guild earned the group the audience they were waiting for. A rabbit woman with lighter brown fur than Usagi, a bigger yet more toned ass than the lagomorph companion of the group, and a noticeably bigger bosom made an appearance. Her leporine form, of course, was complimented by this feature; her CC-Cup was pretty noticeable when compared to Usagi’s BB-Cup bosom, but a bit more subtle to catch with the other busty ladies surrounding Yuri and the two bunny girls. She wasn’t too hard to miss; aside from her leporine figure, this character arrived in similar attire to what Usagi was wearing.

“Greetings,” said the new lapin woman, “I am Clover, please follow me to the designated location, and we can begin.” The group, sans Usagi, all gave each other quizzical looks before following the rabbit woman, Usagi got near Clover, and the other rabbit woman whispered in her ear, “If your claims are true, you lucked out on quite the find.”

After a few minutes, they arrived at the edge of the forest near a circle that had been drawn with what seemed to be green chalk. “Before we continue,” said Usagi, “my associate will need to check something.”

“Quick question,” said Yuri after Usagi spoke, “How easy is it to fake information on your identification card?”

“Almost impossible,” said Thelsia; she had a feeling she knew where Yuri was going with this, “the rituals involved are designed to specifically identify an individual, and their abilities, and strip away all falsehoods around them. But it is possible to hide information you have on your card from anyone you don’t want to know that information.”

“Thanks,” said Yuri; he then reached into his pocket and pulled out his card, and offered it to the two lapin women, “this should help expedite things a bit.”

Clover blinked a bit before turning to Usagi, “You said he was affiliated with the Adventurers’ Guild, but I didn’t expect him to actually have one of their cards.”

“To be fair,” said Usagi, “I wasn’t aware of that fact until after I sent my message, and by the time I had to actually write the message, the window for secure messages I had prior was no longer open. That said, it wasn’t unreasonable to guess he might have one due to his affiliation with the local guild; the cards help them keep better track of their membership.”

“A reasonable argument,” said Clover as she took the card and performed a series of complicated hand motions over the card to unlock all the information it held to her; after a moment of reading everything, she said, “It really has registered you as an Alpharian, that saves us a bit of time.” She then reached into the bags at her side and pulled out a pair of scrolls, and carefully unfurled them within the chalk line before moving out of the circle without disturbing the scrolls or chalk and placed her hands in the circle and chanted some sort of mantra under breath before pulling her hands out of the circle.

A moment later, the circle lit up with a green glow, then the scrolls started to glow indigo before a ring of violet and green light engulfed the inside of the circle. “Preparations are complete,” said Usagi as she handed the card back to Yuri, “we only have about a minute, so everyone should enter now,” with that she stepped into the ring of light. Yuri and the rest of the girls followed after; they were tailed by Clover, who decided to bring up the rear. Light engulfed the group as they entered, filling the entire vision for who knows long before the light began to fade.

When the light finally faded enough to blink the spots and stripes from their vision, Yuri and the group were greeted with the sight of a ninja village out of some kind of Japanese historical fantasy setting, complete with a wide variety of fit and athletic bunny girls having stopped their activities to stare at the group cautiously.
