Chapter 210 by Sarckle Sarckle

What's next?

Jacob the Hunter

Your fingers are entwined with Yuruki’s as you walk down the route towards Lake of Rage. The crisp morning air chills your lungs, you sip the coffee she used to lure you out of bed. “This is nice,” you sigh, looking down at the amazing woman.

She steals your coffee having already finished her own. You could fight her for it, but you’ve had enough. Plus she’d easily overpower you, be able to hold you down and take what she wants… Maybe you should fight for it.

Yuruki pushes aside a branch, and reveals the sparkling surface of the lake. A couple Starly fly from the branches. “It’s beautiful,” you gasp. The serene surface calming you despite the lake’s name.

“So are you,” Yuruki purrs, kissing your neck. Her arms wrapping around your waist.

“Damn it!” a man shouts, drawing your attention a down the shore line.

“Ugh, we could maybe find a spot that way,” Yuruki points the opposite way.

But this spot looks perfect, and you don’t see another good spot nearby. “We could just ignore him,” you suggest.

The man is grumbling loudly with a splash as he tosses the Magikarp back into the water. “Come on, show me the gold.”

“Why’s he got to be so loud?” Yuruki mumbles while unpacking a blanket to sit on.

You giggle to yourself, as Yuruki sets up a stunning charcuterie board. You grin, grabbing a slice of cheese, “You know if he gets too loud, you could always use my thighs as earmuffs.”

She turned to you, “Amber, you beautiful horndog.” The bottle of wine in hand, she wraps her arms around your neck, the cool glass resting between your shoulder blades. She kisses you, “If that’s the case, I hope he keeps failing at whatever he’s doing.”

“NOT AGAIN!” he shouts, and Yuruki goes rigid in your arms.

She peers over your shoulder, “I’m just going to ask him to move down the shore. And if that doesn’t work, maybe Rhyperior will convince him he needs a trip to the pokecenter.”

“Yuruki,” you plead, but follow her to the shore anyways.

“Hey! You mind keeping it down,” Yuruki shouts, not completely succeeding at keeping her anger hidden.

The man turns with a Magikarp held up to his side. “Hmm, who me?”

“What? Yes, you. Who else would I be talking to?”

He looks around as if the three of you aren’t the only people in sight. “Oh sorry, I’m just shiny hunting.”

“Well can you do whatever that is somewhere else? I’m trying to have a nice picnic with my stunning girlfriend.”

“What is shiny hunting?” you speak up.

He throws the Magikarp back, wiping his wet hands on his pants. “Shiny pokemon are pokemon that have a different coloring to them.”

“Cool, so about doing that elsewhere?” Yuruki taps her foot impatiently.

But you’re curious about these ‘shiny’ pokemon. “What do you mean different coloring?”

“Well, I could show you,” he says, placing his rod against a nearby tree. He rifles through his bag, “I’m Jacob by the way. There it is,” he says holding up his pokeball. He releases the pokemon inside, and a Bidoof stands between him and the two of you. “Tada.”

You look from the Bidoof to Yuruki. The same look of confusion is on her face. “But it’s still brown? I thought you said it’d be different colored, like white or red or something?” Yuruki quirks her head.

Jacob is affronted. “Excuse me. He’s a golden brown, and look at his little feet, they’re pink.”

“Oh,” you say. Its feet are slightly pink, but you’re not an expert on Bidoof so that could just be what they look like.

He puffs out his cheeks, “You two obviously don’t realize the natural beauty of shiny pokemon.”

“Well, listen. We’re trying to enjoy the natural beauty of the lake. So if you could just keep it down while you look for your slightly off orange Magikarp,” Yuruki says.

Jacob returns his slightly lighter brown Bidoof to its ball, giving you and Yuruki a glare. “Shiny Magikarp is gold not off orange.” He plops down on the shore with his fishing rod in hand.

“Whatever man, just keep it down,” Yuruki waves him off as she guides you back to the picnic. The two of you laugh at Jacob’s Bidoof, while Yuruki uncorks the wine. You nibble at the meats and cheese she’d brought.

She talks about the sponsors for the Sirens. Evidently a few sponsors pulled out after publicly supporting you on tv. But luckily their biggest sponsor, Hare Tech and Holdings, is actually woman owned. And Molly their CEO wanted to be a trainer growing up, but wasn’t allowed to by her father. So she actually increased her pledge to the team in support.

“UGGGHHH!” Jacob moans.

Yuruki glares down at him. You smile, lightly turning her gaze back to you. “What did I say about earmuffs?”

Yuruki smirks and leans over the half eaten charcuterie board. Her lips taste of wine. You lean into her, pushing her onto her back. She grins as you stand over her, pulling your panties down from beneath your dress.
