Research Time!

"How many spells does the Annihilation School have?" Verona asks me.

"It has four spells and one skill. Although the skill did merge with another and evolve into a new one." I say while taking out my Annihilating Wings. "The skill was Annihilating Cloak, but it merged with my Flame Wings and became this." I tell Verona and she walks around me. She looks at my wings before reaching out.

"Is it okay for me to touch them?" She asks and I nod.

"Yeah, but they are sensitive. So don't be rough." I reply and she nods. She starts running her fingers gently across my wings.

"How are they connected to you? They seem to go through your clothes." She asks and I nod.

"I've told you about my equipment slots, right?" I ask and she nods. "It seems that they go through whatever clothes or armor I equip. One morning, Luna got a blanket and my wings got stuck under it. So they only go through my clothes, nothing else. But they're attached to my shoulder blades, or at least that area." I say and she nods.

"Do you normally sleep with them out like this?"

"Sometimes. Luna and Asami like using them as blankets on chiller nights. But I haven't in a while." I reply as she starts feeling around my shoulders, where my wings disappear under my clothes.

"Could you take off your shirt? I want to examine how they connect to your skin. The mana in your armor is getting in the way."

"Sure, but why is my armors mana getting in the way?" I ask while unequipping my Dark Mythos Chest.

"Your armor has mana embedded into it. That causes it to have its own flow. It was blocking the view of your wing's flow." She replies while feeling my back where my wings connect to me. I feel her hands run down my wings and to my skin. The moment she feels my skin I flinch.

"Sorry, did that hurt?" She asks while stepping back.

"No, it's just a lot more sensitive there. I've never felt that before." I say and she nods.

"Can I continue?" She asks and I nod. She continues feeling around for a while. "How does it feel moving them around? Like, do they feel like moving flesh and bone or more like manipulating mana?"

"More like flesh and bone. It feels like moving muscle when I use them. And I can feel the muscles in them get tired if I use them too much."

"What about when you tuck them away like that?" She asks and I think about it.

"It's hard to describe. When I do it, it feels like I clench all of their muscles all at once. After they're tucked, I lose the feeling of them. It's like they go entirely numb." I say while she runs her hand down my spine.

"Would it be okay if I cast a weak attack spell at them? They seem to be able to reduce spell damage."She asks and before I can answer Gaia speaks.

"No you will not!" Gaia says and I hear Verona sigh.

"It's okay Gaia. My wings can do that. They reduce the damage by 75% if I remember correctly." I say and Verona nods. She creates a small ball of wind before turning to Gaia. Gaia sighs and nods before Verona fires it at my wings.

Verona stares at my wings in awe.

"So what did you see?" Gaia asks.

"His wings devoured my spell. They weakened it before it could hit him." She says and Gaia nods. "Can you show me some other spells next?" She asks and I nod. I cast Annihilating Strike causing my Katana to get engulfed in dark grey energy. I hold my Katana up for her while telling her what the spell does.

"Eric, can you try cutting this?" She asks while reaching out. A wall of green wind appears a few feet in front of me. It's only a few feet wide, but it's a foot taller than me. I can't feel any wind coming from it, despite the wind in the wall raging like a vortex. I swing my Katana through the wall. My blade cuts through the wind. The energy around my blade expands and devours the wind. Once I've finished my cut, the wind and the energy are gone. Verona runs around me and creates another wall. "Can you do it one more time?" She asks and I nod. I cast Annihilating Strike and cut the wall again. She takes a notebook out of the air and starts writing something. After a minute she looks back up. "What's the next spell?" She asks, her eye sparkling. I sheath my Katana before replying.

"It's called Annihilation Ray. It destroys any matter it comes into contact with. But it can't destroy any magical objects or interfere with mana." I say and she nods. I cast it and aim for the sky, not wanting to destroy any of the landscape. I cast it four times before she creates another wind wall above me. I aim for it, and the ray stops on her wall. It disappears a moment after touching it and leaves her wall unharmed.

"What was the spell you used in your fight with Bergeth called? The one that suffocated the mana."

"It was Annihilating Thrust. It's basically the opposite of Annihilation Ray. It destroys the mana in the air, but doesn't affect any physical or non-magical objects." I reply and she nods. I cast it a few times, destroying another two wind walls. Once we're done I look around. I notice the others have all left and go to the cabin. I walk over to my Domain Pillar and open the upgrade section. I create another bedroom, one with two separate beds, and upgrade the cabin. It costs me 500 Wood, 250 Magic Wood, and 300 Stone. I see the bedroom door appear and walk over. I open the door and look around. I see the room has been split into two. There are two beds, two wardrobes, and two desks. I look outside and see I still have a few hours before dinner. Before I can decide on what to do, Luna tackle hugs me from behind.

"Alpha, let's go to a Dungeon!" She says and I see Innu walk around me nodding. She has her armor on and her new sword is on her back. I look down and see Luna has her gauntlets on.

"Okay, but let's go create a new one." I say and they cheer.

"Where are we going? I want to try something new, not another forest." Innu says and I feel Luna nodding against my back.

'"Let me think then... Got it, follow me." I tell them while taking their hands and pulling them outside.
