Chapter 9 by meriones meriones

What's next?

Emily's morning

Emily's chance to answer some of those questions came in the morning.

After breakfast, Abby came to her room. She sat down on Emily's bed.

"Something wrong?" Emily asked.

Abby took a long breath and let it out slowly before starting.

"You seem to know a lot about a lot of strange things." Abby began. "Have you ever heard about music controlling people's minds? Making them do things?"

"What type of things? There are cases of 'dancing plague' dating to the mediaeval ear." Emily said.

"No, not dancing, other things."

"Can you be more specific," Emily asked, but she was starting to have suspicions. She noticed a few scrapes on Abby's knees that weren't there before, and if those moans last night came from Abby...

Abby blushed and looked at the floor before answering.

"Can music ever make you think of sex?" Abby blurted, "Or make your thoughts more perverse or something."

Emily was slow to answer, trying to put things together in her head. "Music is just music." she said at last, "at least from what I know." She leaned in and whispered in to Abby "If you've been thinking perverted thoughts, it's probably because you repress too many of your desires" Emily leaned in, hoping to press Abby into telling her exactly what happened.

Abby let out a husky gasp, but, as Emily moved towards her, she quickly turned away, fleeing from the room.

"Sorry, it's nothing" Abby said, rushing out the door.

Emily smiled. It hadn't worked out as she hoped, but she knew she was onto something.

She gathered her things and made to get ready for her morning classes.
