Chapter 7 by Bartw32rt
What about their relationship?
A one sided one
To understand the relationship between Stan and his sister Eliorah, we have to go back to one normal day at school that turned around on Stan real quick. And that day looked something like this:
‘Head low, that’s what Stan learned from the first year of attending school. Merely a boy with a once determined look walked up to the front door. Where some other students were standing.
Now the term “students” was quite the term. They were children. Children who had parents who had read up about Sarah Fletcher and gave their own spin on the story behind closed doors.
Some kids therefore believed that Stan was a bastard. A word they considered to be funny, since they were merely children and didn’t understand the meaning of it. Nor did they understand that saying something negative over and over again could have the effect of bullying.
Whatever the case was, they thought Stan to be funny. And therefore made it known to Stan that they were laughing at the expense of him. Where Stan was raised to not retort, so he didn’t say anything back to the bullies.
The red door opened up and a wide hall with different classrooms appeared. Stan would walk this entire hall first to get to the principal’s office. Since the principal had his suspicions of Stan’s special circumstances. Which only resulted in Stan being more ostracized than before. Since his special treatment only made everyone aware that Stan had to be different.
Kids would stare at Stan. An older and gruff looking kid would smile at Stan, as Stan knew what to do. A few months ago he had made the mistake of aggravating the blonde by “standing in his view”. And since nobody had stood up while he had belittled Stan, he had continued to exercise his control on the younger kid.
His name was Viktor. From the point of view of little Stan, Viktor was a crude boy. A tough aggressive young lad that would be mean to get what he wanted. In truth, Viktor had been bullied at Stan’s age and was now feeling the power it could bring to look down at those pesky kids. While he didn’t even know Stan’s name.
Stan would give Viktor his lunch money while he felt an iron grip on his neck while doing so. Viktor making sure that Stan knew his place. While Viktor and two of his friends, a long one and a short one, made sure this happened daily and on every moment they could. Just to show how much control they have over the little kid. Who was growing to be sick of it himself’
Now, dear reader. You might think to yourself that all of this doesn’t sound heroic. After all, our young hero to be is just doing nothing. Just residing himself to be in the fate that seemed to have been placed there by different people.
There were the parents who taught their kids their lies. There were the children who looked and didn’t do anything. There were the actual bullies who belittled our hero. Truth be told, Stan isn’t really a good hero.
I, as a writer would even call him Stupid Stan instead of Super Stan. Just to mock the whole concept of what he is doing now. Stan isn’t a superhero, because he isn’t acting like one. But there is someone. Someone who is a superhero.
‘Three weeks later’
‘Laughing. They were all laughing at Stan. He couldn’t stop the tears. Snot leaking out his nose as he was looking at his backpack with its contents splayed out. While Viktor was laughing at the struggling little boy. He had only pulled the kids leg after which he catastrophically fell onto the wall. Blood appearing onto the hairs of Stan.
“Apologize Viktor”
Came a voice Stan knew very well. It wasn’t one of anger or malicious intent. It was one of genuine concern. Which seemed to also surprise Viktor.
“Eh-…what?”
He seemed to ask somewhat startled at first by the concern in the voice. And then when he looked back into a warm smile.
“You probably meant it as a joke, you didn’t mean to harm my brother. So an apology is in order, right Viktor?”
“H-how do you know my name?”
Viktor asked somewhat stupidly. Not really feeling like in this conversation he held all the cards.
“My brother told me about you”
Said the girl who was Viktor’s age, as she straightened her back and looked him right in the eyes. A lot of kids were now actually walking up behind her. They were actually backing her up in this.
“I’ll ask again”
The girl said calmly.
“Would you please apologize?”
Viktor’s mouth was dry. He couldn’t really say anything to a girl. And with all these people who now were standing up for what? For Stan? No, they were standing up for Eliorah. A girl who was at most times at the nursery to take care of all of the little kids, which made sure that every older brother and sister knew the girl that now seemed to tower over Viktor.
“S-..s.s~sorry”
Viktor said before he turned his back quick on Stan and disappeared. While Eliorah now looked at her stepbrother. Grabbed his hand. And walked with him to the nurse’s office. While kids all made sure they could pass them. Now not staring at Stan anymore, but at his sister.
“How could you!”
She shouted at Stan as the nurse had left them alone.
“What is wrong with you, why didn’t you tell us what was going on?”
And yes, the principal did have his suspicions. But he hadn’t told them to Stan’s parents. And no, Eliorah hadn’t heard that her brother had been bullied by Stan himself. She had heard it from a little kid who had seen it happen. After which little Eliorah had, like her mother would, walked straight to the confrontation and had translated the whole situation in a discussion about what an apology was.
It was indeed that moment that Stan was inspired. It was at that moment his eyes had grown to the size of golf balls as he looked at his stepsister. Knowing that he had to be better from that point on. Like his sister. There was also a weird aftertaste in his mouth. As he could feel his teeth become a bit more sharp.
All the while Eliorah wasn’t so impressed by her younger stepbrother. The word ‘dork’ would most likely be the word she would describe him by. And now at only nine years old she had to think of a way so that Viktor won’t do something to him again. Because she did care for Stan. It is just that-…
Her thoughts are cut off as she feels how sharp teeth like syringes slid into her exposed throat. Her hands travel to the pain to try to lift off Stan’s head. But it’s too late. The pain subsides as a pleasurable warmth takes over her head.
What is it about these bites?

To be a hero
To make the right decisions
This story will center itself around the main character: the hero. Well…at least that is what he will be at the start. You have to understand dear reader, that most villains in real life aren’t inherently evil. They themselves do believe that what they are doing is the right thing. To clarify, this story does start out as a heroic tale. It is in fact a little generic. For example, it is set in the glorious country of the United States. The hero does at the start believe in the workings of a democracy. The hero…gets the girls? That last one isn’t true. What a shame really. Well, it isn’t like this slight derailing of the story would result in a complete different story. Or…would it?
