The Lagos Gig !

Debbi sat nervously in the car with Avalon as it inched through the crowds thronging to Freedom Park in Lagos where the concert was taking place. They had rehearsed the previous day in a downtown recording studio and there was just the sound check to come before they let the hordes in. Ava had played diplomat and managed to integrate Debbi more with the musicians and backing singers but she still could not shrug off the feeling that she was an imposter.

The sound check was performed in her street gear as they ran through the dance moves. A couple of Dolla's girl troupe would be onstage with her and at the appropriate time would begin to lead the crowd in a chant of 'crowd surf' before edging Debbi towards the front of the stage. "You launch yourself from here" Natalia was demonstrating. "Do I really have to do this ?" Debbi asked, in what was more of a reflex response than with any real hope of a reprieve. "It'll make a great climax to your set and get the crowd revved up for Dolla, which is your function. Just jump, hands will be only too eager to catch you" Natalia replied. "That's what I'm worried about" said Debbi.

As she got changed into her stage costume back in the caravan, Debbi could hear the hum of the crowd as Avalon completed her makeup. "Don't be so nervous" Ava encouraged her. "You've done it all before." "Not on this scale, well apart from the Reading Festival I suppose but that was just down the road, not thousands of miles away" said Debbi. "You'll be fine, you'll surprise yourself" Ava continued in her role of morale booster.

Debbi soon found herself waiting by the side of the stage for her entrance, the ridiculously tiny leotard costume mainly hidden beneath the green and white cloak clasped at her neck. She was wearing strappy red heels. Most of the crowd had no idea who Miz No-E was, though Natalia had arranged for a few radio plays of her ditty recorded from the SEXFLIX special. The PA was giving her a big build up. "All the way from London England, the sensational, the sexy, the raunchy, the irresistible MIZ NO-E !" Imposter, imposter, imposter, thought Debbi.

But it was too late. The musicians launching into her familiar backing track covered what was initially a lukewarm smattering of applause. Interest from the audience perked up as Debbi made her entrance and the sight of the national colors on her cloak provoked the hoped for roars of approval. Before beginning her rap, Debbi made a circuit of the stage, flanked by the two black girls from Dolla's backing group. The crowd responded to flashes of bare leg from between the folds of her cloak, promising more flesh to come. By the time she faced the crowd and the two girls whisked away her cloak to reveal the brevity of the rest of the costume, there were full blooded cheers ! Debbi momentarily froze as she looked out over the intimidating mass of black faces but then the warmth of the response gave her more courage and she turned to pose with her bare ass facing the crowd, producing an even more raucous response.
