Get some rest. She has a plan to spy on her friends tomorrow

A yawn escaped her lips.

It’s still early, Ruby thought to herself. But I should get some sleep. Depending on what happens, it might be a long day tomorrow. She glanced down at the remote once more before slipping it into her pocket. I’m not going to interfere, I’m just going to watch. Yep, nothing else. Just watch and observe. Once Weiss turns him down, I’ll know what to do to cheer him up.

She felt a weird combination of excitement and guilt.

“Weiss~.” Yang sang the next day. “Your date is here!”

“Shut it, Yang,” Weiss snapped, sitting up from her bed. She didn’t put any specific effort into her outfit. It was her normal white dress which doubled as a combat outfit. “This is a one-time thing so he realizes we aren’t compatible.”

“I’ll just have to prove you wrong,” Jaune countered. He was still glowing from finally achieving his dream.

“Someone seems confident,” Blake commented. “I take it he has a plan.”

“An itinerary is the least he should do,” Weiss agreed.

“I did plan today out,” Jaune confirmed. “I’ll tell you about it on the way to Vale, unless you rather I keep it a surprise.”

“Tell me,” Weiss ordered. “I’m not a big fan of surprises, but wait until we are out of earshot. Some people can’t mind their own business.” The door closed behind them and Yang immediately stood up.

“We are going to spy on them? Right?” She looked at Blake and Ruby expectantly. “Come on, Ruby. It will be fun.”

“I don’t know,” Ruby said slowly. “Jaune worked hard to get her to say yes, we shouldn’t bother them.” Besides, I’m going to spy on them myself in a much better way.

“We aren’t going to bother them,” Yang protested. “We are just going to observe.”

“Nope,” Blake replied and set down her book. “Weiss asked me to make sure you didn’t follow her today.”

“Traitor!” Yang accused. “What happened to being partners!?”

“She was very persuasive,” Blake replied, swinging her legs off the side of the bed. Yang’s eyes narrowed.

“She bribed you, didn’t she?”

“Full set of signed limited edition Ninjas of Love. She received it as a gift last year but doesn’t appreciate the series. It’s mine if I keep you here.”

“What about me?” Ruby asked.

“I told Weiss I probably wouldn’t be able to stop you,” Blake replied honestly. “Unless I tied you down to the bed before you woke up. You’re too fast for me.” She smiled. “Weiss trusts you though to leave them alone.”

Guilt stabbed Ruby in the heart.

Of course, Weiss didn’t say this. She told Blake to guilt trip Ruby into staying behind. There was a small part of her that thought Ruby would stay back, but she wanted to take precautions. This strategy would have worked if Ruby hadn’t possessed that remote.

“You can’t stop me!” Yang declared and rushed for the door. Blake slipped in front of her and stuck out a foot, causing Yang to trip. She smashed into the wall with a loud thud and fell backwards. Blake stood over her and looked down.

“Don’t make me tie you up,” she sighed. “You may be strong, but I have two years on you in experience.” The age swap was still in effect.

Ruby glanced out the window to see Weiss and Jaune heading toward the Bullhead. The problem was they were surrounded by other students, some Beacon and the rest from the other schools. She had never aimed the remote from this far away and there was a good possibility someone else would be hit. She had to do a Life Swap option fast though, or she would lose them. The reason she decided on this swap was a Body Swap wouldn’t change who others saw her as. She would still be Ruby. Personal Info Swaps were risky, as reality changed to fit the new swap. Once she finished spying on them, she would just hit the Undo or Reset button, depending on how many times she had to swap.

She aimed to the best of her ability and clicked the button
