An Unwanted(?) Approach

Staying behind at Hogwarts during the holidays wasn't something you ever looked forward to, especially since none of your friends were there to keep you company. However, this year, you had at least one thing to look forward to.

The Hogwarts Staff Christmas Eve Party.

The prospect of being able to let loose in a room full of music, ****, and all of your professors, should've made you feel awkward and uncomfortable. However, you were one of the smartest witches in the whole school. You paid attention in class, you got the best grades, and every teacher in the school liked you. With one notable exception....

Still, you weren't adverse to spending this time with your professors. You also knew that they would splurge a little on the snacks and drinks, which enticed you. Besides, the only alternative was to hang out all alone in your empty dormitory while the few people who remained in the school had fun drinking and dancing.

How could you say no?

Which was how you found yourself on a dance floor, a little tipsy, as you danced with the professors and the handful of other students who'd stayed behind. By that point, everyone was feeling the effects of the **** at least a little bit, which led them to be a bit louder and more outgoing than they usually were. It was great fun for you, and you laughed and danced like no one was watching.

But someone was watching, a dark blot on the evening's festivities.
