What do we do first?

As Valkyria processed what Jake had just revealed, a voice spoke in her mind. It was Starfire of the Moon, the sentience of her sword.

"I remember when all this happened," Starfire said. "It was during the War in Heaven, when the gods and the Titans fought for supremacy. Fenrir was a weapon used by the Titans, but he was too powerful to control. The moon goddess, Selene, tricked him into using some of his power to creat the first werewolf, Jareck, then she turned him loose to hunt Fenrir down."

Valkyria was stunned. "You mean to tell me that Jake's father is Fenrir and his mom is the moon!?" she asked.

Starfire nodded. "Essentially yes, and his Father is just as powerful as he says. If he were to escape, it would mean the end of the world."

Valkyria turned back to Jake. "Why did the moon goddess choose you to be the key?" she asked.

Jake shrugged. "I have no idea. Maybe it's because I'm the werewolf and she thought I would be the one most capable of contending with Fenrir’s will. Or maybe it was just dumb luck. Either way, here we are."

Valkyria looked down at her sword. "And what about Starfire? Can she help us?"

Starfire spoke up again. "I can sense the power of Fenrir in Jake, and it's growing stronger every day. But I can also sense something else, a power that is unique, old, other, not of this world or even this pantheon.”

Jake frowned, only now realizing that Valkyria’s sword was sensitive enough to pick up on the power of the elder god he had absorbed from the Avatar, even if it couldn’t identify it.

Valkyria gave Jake a quizzical look.

“What the hell does that mean?”

Jake shook his head, “another time perhaps. For now let’s just say I’m keeping my options open if you turn out to be a dud.”

Valkyria’s hackles raised and she turned her body fully to face Jake. "What do I need to do?"

"You need to train," Jake said. "Harder and faster than you ever have before. I can help you with that, but you need to be willing to put in the work."

Valkyria nodded. “I was going to join the adventurers’ guild, be paired up with Dana. I suppose that’s not in the cards anymore.”

Jake laughed, surprising her. “Actually I think that’s a great idea.” He commented with a wry smile. “As much as I’ve fantasized about fucking her, Dana’s always rebuffed me, even when I throw pheromones at her and play dirty. Now she openly hates me, and werewolves in general. She’s the perfect kind of person for you to stick around with.”

“Why?” Valkyria asked, cautiously.

“Because,” Jake replied with a smirk, “she’ll help you remember that I’m a bad evil monster that needs to be put down,” he said, imitating Dana’s voice, “which should help lessen the moral dilemma when you inevitably have to do just that.” He shrugged, “besides, maybe you can make something out of her, anyone who hates me that much would make a great ****-me candidate, I just don’t see any way she’d ever come by the requisite amount of power to be a threat to me or I’d have turned her instead of you.”

" Alright, I'm in," Valkyria said at last. "What do we do first?"

Note: two branches will peter out because I don't have the time to make this into three separate stories, but let's give Valkyria the ol' Fuck, Fight, or Sleep options and give all of you some choice!))
