"Forgefire," she said, turning to the dwarf. "What are these markings on the blade? I don't recognize them."

Forgefire looked at the markings and rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Ah, those. I had a visitor this afternoon, another werewolf and one with a blade beyond even my skill. He asked me to add these markings to the sword. They are ancient runes, Valkyria. Powerful and dangerous. I’ve seen their like, but not on metal forged by mortal hands.”

"Why?" Valkyria asked, puzzled. “Did he say anything else?”

Forgefire sighed. "He said that the woman he was to bed tonight had a new body, a new form, and that she was a virgin in her werewolf form. He told me that as you gave up your body as payment, I should collect your virgin blood and have you feed it to the blade, smearing it over the runes."

Valkyria took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. "I want to see what kind of power this sword holds. Are you willing to collect my virgin blood as Jake suggested?"

Forgefire's eyes widened in surprise, but then he grinned mischievously. "I'd be honored, Valkyria. But first, let's address the elephant in the room. You didn't realize you'd become a virgin again in your current form when you made your bargain with me, did you?"

Valkyria’s ears folded back and to the side in embarrassment. "No, I didn't. But I made a promise. Now need your help. Will you take my virginity tonight, forgemaster?" She set the blade back on the table and dropped her cloak. “Will you wield your hammer with skill and forge me into a woman, oh dwarf of legend and renown?”

Forgefire's grin turned into a chuckle. "Of course, my dear. It would be my pleasure." He said, guiding her to the small bed.
