Chapter 85 by Bengates
Prompt: Dana begrudgingly admits Valkyria has a certain twisted logic. Dana is still disgusted, Valkyria is starting to get fed up with her high-and-mighty attitude, their argument continues. Dana wants to know what to do to get stronger.
Now I can't get "the hammer is my penis" quote from that show out of my head.
Valkyria's mischievous grin grew even wider as Dana begrudgingly admitted that it made a twisted kind of sense. "See? You're starting to understand, my dear," Valkyria said, patting Dana on the back. "It's not about being a whore, it's about being willing to do what it takes to achieve your goals and knowing what it is that others truly want. Forgefire didn’t want a one-night-stand, he wanted inspiration, the fucking is just a bonus."
Dana recoiled slightly at the pat, but tried to hold back her disgust. "I just don't see how you can be so blasé about it," she said, her arms crossed defensively.
Valkyria rolled her eyes. "Maybe you should have been a nun instead of an adventurer, or a prune farmer," she quipped.
Dana scowled, but before she could say anything, she asked the question that had been gnawing at her. "But what about me? I want to become stronger too, but I'm not going to sleep with some guy just to get a better sword."
Valkyria let out an exasperated sigh. "It's not just about the sword, Dana. It's about the passion and skill of the wielder. Aric didn't just become strong because of his sword, he became strong because of the time and effort he put into training and mastering his craft. You could have the best sword in the world, but if you don't know how to use it, it's just a hunk of metal."
Dana uncrossed her arms, her expression curious. "So, what should I do then?"
Valkyria smirked. "Train hard. Learn new techniques. Find a mentor who can help you improve. And who knows, maybe one day you'll create a weapon worthy of Forgefire's legacy all on your own."
Dana's expression brightened slightly at the prospect, and she nodded in agreement. "Okay, I'll do that. But I still think what you're doing is gross."
Valkyria just shrugged, her grin still firmly in place. "To each their own, my dear. But when I'm holding that legendary sword in my hands, I won't be thinking about anything else." She winked at Dana before turning on her heel and striding away, calling over her shoulder, “unless Forgefire’s skill with his hammer is as legendary as his skills with a hammer… if you know what I mean.”
Dana made a face and followed after her.
Prompt: Taking into account everything Valkyria has said and described thus far, using extensive detail, describe how she returns and then describe the sword itself. There is an unexpected surprise.
