Injured

"Eric, did you ever see your mother's back? Specifically just above her waist?" Gaia asks me and I think about it.

"No, she always wore something to cover it." I reply and Gaia nods.

"She had an injury on her body there. It left a nasty scar. It's hard to describe what it was but it looked like a burn, just much more severe. If she hadn't been able to use magic, it would've killed her. But the wound left a scar on much more than her body. It hit her Mana Circuits as well. This limited the amount of mana she could use. If she were an ordinary Lyna, she wouldn't have been able to use magic again. So she couldn't use the School she created much. It put too much of a strain on her body. In fact, I've only seen her use it four times. That includes when she showed Verona the name of the race you are." Gaia says and Verona nods. "She could manage the rest of her Schools just fine, although she always said they were weaker than before." She continues and I nod. That explains how the Devils managed to beat her. Especially after what I saw at the Mythos village. I doubt even all the Devils could've stopped that. I think before Verona clears her throat.

"So Eric, could you show me her School? Also, the one you used earlier, with your weapon." Verona asks and Gaia softly hits Verona on her head.

"Maybe tomorrow, he needs to rest for now. Just look at him!" Gaia says and I look down. I see my armor with a few blood stains.

"Sorry, I got carried away." Verona says to me and I smile.

"It's fine, I've mostly recovered anyway." I say and she nods.

"Do you have any plans tomorrow, Eric?" Gaia asks and I nod.

"I was thinking of taking Luna and Innu into another Dungeon. Or going and collecting the rest of Bergeths Soul Fragments." I say and Gaia looks at me surprised.

"You're collecting his Soul? Why!?" She asks while Verona's eye sparkles again.

"He's asked me to bring him back. But don't worry, he'll enter a pact with me first to not cause trouble." I say and Verona stands up.

"How do you know the Ancient Wolf?" Verona asks and Gaia sighs. I quickly explain how I meet Bergeth after meeting Luna. How he tested me and made me his Inheritor. Then I tell her how he asked me to locate his Soul Fragments and bring him back.

"Do you trust him?" Verona asks and I shrug.

"A little? He's helped me out before and I do have an idea of what he wants. But I'm not sure if I trust him completely. That's what the pact is for." I reply and she nods.

"So you and Luna know Ancient Beast magic correct?" Verona asks and I nod. "Was Innu the other one in the Slime Dungeon with you?" She asks and again I nod.

"Verona, let them rest for today. You can ask to study their magic tomorrow." Gaia says and Verona sighs.

"Okay. Eric, is it okay if I come back tomorrow at around nine?"

"Yeah, where are you going?" I ask her, curious.

"I'm going to my Domain." She replies and I nod, a little surprised. She gives Gaia a hug before disappearing. Once she leaves Gaia turns to me.

"Eric, come with me." She says while taking my hand and leading me out of the room. She leads me to the bedroom and sits on the bed. She pulls my head into her lap and starts running her hands through my hair. She starts humming and I close my eyes. It feels great and it doesn't take long for sleep to take me. I wake up to someone gently shaking me.

"Master, it's time to get up." I hear Asami say and open my eyes. "Sorry to wake you but it's a little past eight. Gaia told me Verona is coming at nine and you still need to eat." She says while I sit up. I see the others are gone, and it's just us two now.

"Thanks, I'm going to hop in the shower first." I say and she nods. I go back to my apartment and enter the shower. I open my inventory and equip the Ultra Slime Ring and the ring Verona gave me. I replace Ring Of Bees which gave me +15 AGI. Along with the Ring Of Life, that gave me +50 Max HP and +3 HP Regen. I then open and read my notifications.

You've gotten your Wisdom to 300! Rewards: One of these three Wisdom-based Mythical Items: Tiara Of Wisdom, The Seekers Goggles, or the Wise Mans Mattock.

You've made Gaias Hearts and RP reach max! Rewards: Two of the five random Legendary Spellbooks: Wind Spirit Spellbook, Sonic Spellbook, Dryad Spellbook, Summoner's Spellbook, and Runic Spellbook.

I smile and accept both quests before getting out of the shower. I then look at the rewards available for my Wisdom Milestone and Taming A Goddess quest.
