Sarah leaned against her shovel, her hands shaking with the effort of digging the mass grave, even with her magic, her body was reaching its limit. She knew Valkyria was there, throwing the remains of the bandits into the pit, but she didn't look up. She was too lost in her own thoughts.

"I don't even know if he cares about me," Sarah finally blurted out. "Am I part of his pack, or am I just a toy to him?"

Valkyria paused for a moment, taking in Sarah's words. "Oh, honey," she said, trying to lighten the mood. "Don't you worry. If he's not treating you right, I'll just have to turn you into my bitch instead." She grinned, swatting Sarah playfully on the butt.

Sarah looked up at Valkyria, a frown then a small smile playing at the corners of her mouth. "You know, for a gladiator, you're a real goofball," she said, but there was gratitude in her voice. "Thanks for trying to cheer me up."

Valkyria nodded, throwing another body into the grave. "That's what friends are for," she said. "But seriously,” a low growl built in her throat, “if he ever hurts you, just let me know. I won't stand for it."

Sarah lets out a heavy sigh and leans into Valkyria for a hug. "Thanks for being here, it's really nice to have another strong female presence around," she says. "I've felt for a while like I'm the only one carrying everyone's burdens. Jake is so aloof, only looking out for himself, or for sex."

Valkyria returns the hug and nods. "I get it. I know what it's like to feel alone in a group. But we're a team now, and we need to look out for each other."

Sarah nods, "I know. It's just hard. I don't even know where I stand with Jake. He's my alpha, but I don't know if I'm a part of his pack or just a passing fancy."

Valkyria puts her arm around Sarah's shoulders. "Well, if it's any consolation, I think you're amazing. You've been carrying so much weight on your shoulders, and you've done it all with grace and strength. I'm proud to be on your team."

Sarah smiles weakly, "Thanks, that means a lot."

Valkyria grins, "You know, I used to be a gladiator. Fought for my life every day. And now I'm a werewolf. Life's crazy like that. But it's nice to have another tough chick around. I think we should become friends."

Sarah's eyes light up, "Really? You want to be friends with me?"

Valkyria nods, "Of course. Who wouldn't want to be friends with a badass like you?"

Sarah laughs and wipes away a tear, "Thank you, Valkyria. I think I'd like that."
