Fight of Course

Brandy’s only response is to summon her Holy Barrier [Energy 30/40] as she stars down the Orc Champion before charging as she gives a battle cry.

Round 1

***

With a Confident Grin, the Orc looks at and teases Brandy “Oh, the little lady has some fight in her! But you will have to do better than that if you want to win.”

Gripping her sword tightly, Brandy steadies her resolve. “You will be punished for the crimes you committed here beast.”

Rounds 2-3

***

As the Orc swings a third time in as many seconds, Brandy is horrified to see her Holy Barrier collapse under the powerful swings of the warrior, then the cold bite of steel as the Axe Blade slices into her flesh. Smirking in triumph, he grins at the young warrior. “Ready to give up little girl? I promise if you do I’ll let you live.” His grin gets wider as he continues speaking. “I’ll even take you into my harem.”

For a split second Brandy considers surrendering. She had never faced such an opponent before. But she couldn’t just surrender, “What about Robert?”

The Orc rises an eye-brow before responding. “The Mercenary? I have orders to kill him.”

“I am sorry, but” Brandy rises her blade above her head. “I can’t let you kill him. He is under my protection.”

The Orc readies his axe in response and with a tone of respect says “Then I guess we have **** but to continue our dance of steel.”

The two warriors charge at each other, their weapons whistling in the air and puddles of mud splashing about from their powerful foot work.

Rounds 4-7

***

The weapons of the two warriors continue to swing and clash, for a few moments neither being able to strike the other. Both warriors jump back away form each other, weapons still at the ready. Both of them are breathing heavily now, their skin covered in sweat as fresh blood drips from both of their blades.

The Orc takes a moment to examine the slash on his side, probing the injury with his fingers. Examining the fresh blood on his hands he laughs. “Tell me woman, what is your name?”

“Brandy, Redeemer of Shelyn”

“Well met Brandy, I am called Tazluk.” His eyes examine her for a moment thoughtfully, then he gives a large excited grin. “That settles it. I am going to take you as my wife.”

“You will have to beat me first.”

“Oh, gladly!”

***

Rounds 8-9

***

The two warriors charge at each other again, their blades clashing before quickly disengaging. Brandy is looking much worse for wear, blood pooling at her feet while Tazluk gives an amused laugh “Are you sure you don’t want to surrender? I would hate to hurt my future bride anymore than necessary.”

Brandy lays a hand upon her chest and a bright light of healing envelopes her body, almost blinding the Orc warrior. As the light disappears she grips her sword and stares down her opponent, a look of determination in her eyes. “You haven’t won yet…”

Tazluk looks at the woman in front of him, his face a mixture of excitement and desire, and then the two warriors change towards each other once again.

Author’s Notes: Page 96 of the BESM Core Rule Book – **** Field

“A typical **** Field is different from Armour, since it can be battered down by a sufficiently powerful attack. If an attack inflicts more damage than the **** Field prevents (even if the rest of the damage is stopped by Armour), the **** Field temporarily loses one Level of effectiveness. The character can only regain Levels if the field is “down” and regenerating, unless the Regenerating Enhancement is assigned. A **** Field recovers one Level for every full round it is down (turned off and not in operation). A **** Field that is knocked to zero Levels automatically shuts off to regenerate and will reactivate once it has recovered at least a couple of protective Levels.”

How does the Battle End?
