"Fine, you can look at the menu, but I'm staying next to you in case something goes wrong," you say, giving her a stern look.

"Wow, worried much?" Erica said with a mock wounded look on her face.

"I know what this thing can do. You probably would find the temptation to fire in my direction amusing, and suddenly we'd both be something else than we used to be," you say, still holding on to the gun.

Erica gave you a nod of **** concession. "That's probably exactly what I'd do. It's as if you know me inside out!" she said and giggled before she turned you around and put you both into the couch.

"Alright, fine, let me look at this menu screen," she said as you finally released the grip of the gun for her to look at it. "So, you hit me with the default mode?" She asked as she began scrolling through the various options.

"Yeah, well, I don't know if it's the default, but it was the settings it began with," you say, observing as she skims through various options.

"Well, this is a mess of options, for sure," Erica said after being silent for a minute. "But this is all hypothetical until I see something change when this trigger is pressed," she added as she looked over at you.

"What do you suggest? that we shoot someone to prove it works for you?" You say.

"Well, duh. It seems to just work on people from what I can tell," she says as she raises it towards the TV in front of you and pulls the trigger. You freeze for a second as the gun begins whining a little, but it quickly whines back down again.

"Let's not do that again," you say before sighing. "but fine, I guess it can't be helped that we need to test it on someone."

"Excellent," She said in a beaming tone, bouncing a little in the couch before going quiet, giving you a knowing look.

"I take it you have an idea?" you ask with apprehension.

Erica smiled mischievously, basking in the silence for another moment.
