Analyn accused of copying

Analyn went to a strict academy that practiced humiliating corporal punishment. She was always tidy, polite, studious, and diligent. Her uniform was always in compliance with the dress code, and she always did her own work. She was shocked when Ms. Martinet called her out.

"Analyn, you cheated on the test. Your answers are the same as Aurora's."

"Miss, I did not," Analyn protested. "Aurora must have copied off me!"

"Lying to me only makes it worse. Aurora already told me what you did. Clearly I haven't disciplined you enough this year. You deserve what's coming to you. Maybe you'll learn to be a good girl. Come to the front of the class, Analyn."

Analyn got up and looked at Aurora. The other girl stuck her tongue out, but Ms. Martinet didn't see. Analyn walked up to the front, full of shame, confusion, fear, and self-doubt.

"Strip, Analyn," Ms. Martinet reminded her. "Covering up your shame is a form of lying."
