Chapter 28

Which Class Should I Aquire First?
I'll Start With Assassin.
I decided to Work on Assassin First, because Barbarian would Require alot more Combat Focus. It would be impossible for Me to Rage Out and Kill 10 Thousand Opponents while trying to keep My Eyes and Ears on the Adventurers. Their Knowledge was Invaluable and I didn't want to miss their Opening Impressions of My Dungeon.
Currently they were just Warming Themselves up by the Furnace, Oiling down their Metal Equipment and Eating some Travel Rations. Beef Jerky Perhaps. At least it looked like Beef Jerky. It could be Squirrel or Rat Jerky for all I knew. For some Reason My God's Eye couldn't Identify Cooked Meat. The Women had wrung as much water as they could from their Clothes and hung everything up on the Long Makeshift Clothesline. It was going to take a while to Dry Everything Completely. Not even the 3 Pairs of Panties had Finished Drying Yet. What spare clothes they'd had in their Packs had also been Half Drenched. Birnahilder was the Only Woman who Seemed to have an Extra Pair of Underwear. But even they'd ended up being hung on the Line. Emi and Kori'Ya'Kaminari looked to only have the One Pair of Panties. I suppose it made sense. The Less Belongings they had, the more Loot they Could Take with them in a Single Go. Thus, having only what they Needed was the best way to go about it. I Approved of This Method.
I Made My way to the New Tunnel Network that I'd made Specifically for becoming An Assassin. The Goal was to Kill 1000 Opponents in 1 Hit Without Them Noticing I was there. Not an Easy Task for Someone of My Huge Size. I was Hardly Inconspicuous with My Large Draconic Wings. And My Scaled Humanoid Body was hardly capable of blending in with the Stone. But I Was A Dungeon Master. I could Manipulate The Environment to Suit My Needs. I'd done something similar with the Ambush Tunnel I created above the Duergar Army. Only This Time it would be perpetrated against My Troops Who were Participating in Today's Wargames. The Wargames between My Hives had started back up again several hours ago. I Informed My Hives that I would be Participating in an Off Handed Manor. The Tunnel Network I'd created a Few Hours Ago ran over and around the Maze of Passageways where the Wargames Took Place. Placed in Many Strategic Locations were Hidden Quartz Windows I would use to Gain My Kills Without being noticed. To make it more difficult to See me through the Quartz Windows I decided to ramp up how Bright the Wargame Tunnels were. I would be able to see My Troops Better and My Troops Would be Slightly Handicapped by the Bright Tunnels. It would also be Good Practice for the Wargames Survivors to get some Experience in Brightly Lit Up Environments.
My Hives were aware that Awards Awaited Anyone who could Manage to Spot Me. However they couldn't Actively Hunt Me because My First and Second Hive would be Mostly Distracted Fighting each other. My Shadow Warrior Arachne were excluded from this Wargame because I wanted to Increase their Numbers a bit higher. I would need as Many of them as I could get for My Attack on the Duergar City. So They and My Warrior Wasps were Fighting and Harvesting the Extra Dungeon Beasts I'd set aside for Hunting to Gain Experience. And indeed like Adventurers My Hives could Gain Experience for Killing Dungeon Creatures.
Including the Ceryneian Hind. I had a growing Collection of Golden Antlers. The Elite Deer Respawned every 2 hours. My Minotaur Daughters Took alot of Pride in Killing the Ceryneian Hind for Me. Yeah, Those Two Girls are growing especially fast. What did the Dark Godesses Feed their Monsters that Made them Grow so Quickly. Probably Raw Magic. Thats What I fed My Children. It Certainly worked Faster For Some Species. My Minotaur Girls were now a Pair of Young Teenagers. And their Favorite Pastime was Killing Monsters to Please Me. Those Twin Terrors Knew Exactly How Much I Coveted Gold. Recently they'd Beaten My other Hunting Groups to the Prize. I thought about forbidding them from Fighting the Fire Breathing Giant Deer. But My Minotaur Daughters had proven their Combat Skills within The Hunting Grounds. They were Highly Intelligent and Learned Rapidly due to their Overwhelming Mental Prowess Monster Power. The Ceryneian Hind ended Up being a Challenge but nothing the Twins Couldn't Handle. They Would Lay the Golden Antlers at My Feet then Run Away in a fit of Girlish Giggles. Every 2 hours they Would present Me With Another Set Freshly Harvested from the Ceryneian Hind. And I was taking Full Advantage of this Cheat to Gain Gold For My Treasury. Cheat? Did I say Cheat. Whoops. I meant, it was an Inventive Use of Game Mechanics. It Couldn't Possibility Be A Cheat if "THE SYSTEM'S" Rules Allowed Me To Do It. This was simply an Inventive Use of Game Mechanics on My Part. They did it out of their Love for Me, but I'll have to find some way to Thank Those Two Girls.
It didn't take me long to find a good position in My Hidden Tunnel. Normally I wouldn't Fight like this, but it was a necessity to Kill My Opponents from Hiding. I didn't really know any other way to go about this as Effectively. So, I hunkered Down where an Engagement was about to Commence and I waited for the Unit of Ghost Arachne to begin it's attack on the Steadily Advancing Detachment of Army Ants. When the Two Forces met in Battle there was a Brief Moment when Both Sides were solely focused on each other. That Was My Moment. I unleashed the Spell I'd been holding at the Ready. Nobody said the Stealth Kills Required for the Assassin Class Had to be Melee Attacks. So long as You Weren't Noticed by Your Victims and Ended Them with a single Strike then they were a Kill Worthy of an Assassin. The Holy Smite Spell that Landed on Top of the Concentrated Rear of the Formation of Army Ants was Devastating. The Smashing Impact Damage Killed 5 Army Ants Instantly and another 2 died from being caught up By the Rampant Biology Life aspect of the Spell. The Shield Wall Formation of 10 Soldiers was Destroyed. The 3 Survivors Didn't Stand Much of a Chance against the Needle Throwing Arachne.
Luckily the Arachne Only Threw a few more DimondWire Needles before they Retreated Quickly fearful of also getting struck down by one of My Stealth Attacks. Only 1 Army Ant Remained Alive. He Fled for Cover as fast as he could and to warn others of My Ambush. Another Squad of 10 Soldiers was Coming up the Tunnel Quickly and listenedto his report.
But I was Already Gone, off to My Next Ambush Site. I wasn't 100% sure If I'd gotten credit for the 2 Soldiers who'd Died after My First 5 Kills. Technically by that point They'd Known I was attacking them so I didn't know if they counted or not. They Might've known I was There but they still hadn't seen me. So it was possible that I'd gotten credit after all. Either way I still had alot of Sneaky Killing to do. Less than 995 ish Kills to go. Even Less if Some of My Duergar Kills had already been Counted.
While I Worked on Magically Stealth Murdering My Way into becoming an Assassin, I kept on watching the Still Naked Adventurers. I was glad that I'd decided to. They'd Begun to have an Interesting Conversation.
In an effort to Dispel the silence Sophi Spoke up. "I heard Danik's Crew Bought the Old GuildHall Building just before we left Town. They plan to remake it into Their Bunkhouse and Team Headquarters. They want to attract new Members. They even spoke about Forming a Support Team with Loot Porters."
Birnahilder lost her Jovial Mood and Scowled. "Really!? How Can de Afford dat? Been No Good Guild Jobs en de County from RockGlade ta ShervenSpire Fer Months."
The Oversized Human Woman Shrugged her Naked Shoulders Jiggling Her Massive Exposed Breasts. "I Don't Know. I Only overheard them talking. You Know, when I stopped by Maddy's Tannery before we Left. Had to get that Cut in My Pants Stiched Up. Danik and his Crew came in Boasting about the Purchase and bought New Leathers for Burchig."
The Naked Dwarfess spoke up incredulously raising her hand holding her Oil Rag up to gesture wildly in the Air. How? De just bought Vactor e Whole New Suit o Half Plate Last Week? Where es da Gold Comin From?"
Kori'Ya'Kaminari listened and came to a Troubling Realization. The Icy Beauty snorted in disgust and Derision.
"From Us." That statement got every one of the Women to Look Confused then Grimace and look Frustrated at that Possible Truth. The Stark Naked Ice Archer Continued. "They Never Have Anything More than Shit Jobs Paying Coppers when we come into Town. I'd bet My Cold Tits that those Bastards are withholding everything but the Shitiest of Jobs for us." She pointed at the Similarly Naked CatKin Girl. "We all know how Badly the Regional GuildMaster wants Emi to grace his bed. The Pig tries to Pressure Emi into joining him for "Dinner" every time we're in DunHold."
Emi Herself shivered in disgust at having to remember those Events. Then Fury Began to Burn in Her Eyes thinking about what she Really Wanted to Do with the Pushy GuildMaster.
The Pissed off Magical Archer Continued her Tirade. "Chain her to his Bed More Like. That... Man has the Authority to Order All the Branch Clerks to withhold Jobs from Us." She Paused another Thought Presented Itself. "I wouldn't be surprised if Jonas Tylum is Involved in this Farce. That Asshole has been Sniffing Around You since we all First Partnered Up." This time she was looking at the Giant Breasted Sophi.
"Me?" The Woman In Question Asked as Her Eyes Widened in Dawning Horror.
She clearly hadn't known that this Jonas Guy was interested in her. The Dangerous Harvest Reaper was definitely a bit socially awkward.
All Three of the other Women Nodded Seriously. They'd probably Been keeping the Shy Giant Woman in the Dark to spare her from having to actually confront the Unpleasant Situation. Especially since Her Typical Solutions Probably Involved her Scythe.
Kori'Ya'Kaminari took her White and Black Silken Panties off the Clothesline. She bent over and quickly pulled on Her Mostly Dry Enchanted Panties before she Continued. "Every time you visit his Shop, Jonas gets so close to you because He Likes to be at right at eye level with your Breasts. Sophi, Why do you think we've been taking care of your shopping the Last Few Times we were in DunHold?
The Scythe Loving Woman looked mortified. She hugged her arms to her Chest Protectively like she could Guard Her Giant Boobs from the Man's Lecherous Gaze. The Movement Squished Sophi's Tits to Her Bare Arms and showed just how Pillowy Soft Her Breasts really were.
I could see why this Jonas Tylum was Infatuated with her. She might put off alot of people with her Size and Strength, but her Meek Attitude combined with her Wickedly Substantial Bust made her a Very Desirable Conquest.
The Huge Woman Slowly Blanched and it wasn't from being Buck Naked and Semi Cold. But that didn't stop her from asking a question. "But, How does that make Jonas a part of why we can't get a Good Paying Contract."
It was Birnahilder who ended up supplying that information. "Haven't Ye Noticed da Rise en Prices at da General Store and da Clothier?"
The Busty Former Farmer Shrugged. "Yeah, but the Prices have gone up in all the Shops. That happens when times are bad."
The Dwarven SteelPounder Corrected her Large Friend. "Doin Ye Know who Owns every General Store and Clothier from here ta ShervenSpire en perhaps e might farther."
The Giantess Paled even More. "Jonas Tylum?" She asked in Dread. "But won't Everyone Get Mad that he Raised all his Prices? She asked Puzzled.
"Not if he "Only" Raises the Prices for Us." Emi Growled Angrily.
I thought the Naked Catgirl looked incredibly Cute when she was Furious. Although, telling her that to her face would no doubt get My Eyes Scratched Out. Emi Did indeed have Sharp Retractable Claws within Her Fingers. They were just hard to see because Emi had Human Fingernails that hid the Existence of her Claws.
Kori'Ya'Kaminari Added in Yet Another Possible Co Conspirator. "I'd bet Fengi and his team are in on this too." Chimed in the Stormy Eyed Godess. "His Crew have sticken too close to us lately. They've taken up all the Better Local Jobs before we can find them. Snatching our lifeline right out from under us."
Birnahilder was Furious at that notion. "Dat Piece O Shite. Fengi would do dat ta us. He always was e Right Bastard ov e Dwarf. Dat's why I told em I would no Marry em. Ta think he's been Fucken us over like da rest o dem. Shit. Es all gone ta shite."
Sophi looked upset, grossed out and confused all at the same time. "But....Why? Why are they Doing this?"
"I'll tell Ye Why." The Dwarf stated. "Cause de all want us on our knees crawling ta dem when de lack o Coin drives us ta be ****."
The Panty Clad Ice Archer pitched in. "They don't even have the Balls to tell us to Bend Over to our faces. It's been Seven Months since we've had a better than average payoff. How much longer can we continue scraping by like this." Her anger over their situation transitioned into a forlorn expression. Tears formed in the corners of her unique eyes, but she refused to let them fall and give fully into despair.
"That's why we're here. Isn't it?" Emi chipped in. "This is how we dig ourselves out of the Hole their putting us in."
The Dwarf nodded, her spirits lifting at the Prospects of My Dungeon. "Aye dat's true. I say we take what Loot we can, den we use Dat coin ta get out o Dunhold Province. Fuck Dis Place. Let Da Stones Bury Em." She said then Spat on the Floor to Emphasize her Disgust of this Region and the People who were purposefully making their Lives Miserable. "We head Fer Cormire City en do no look back. Women like us will be proudly accepted en da Kingdom o Lanis. Dem Lanismen do no discriminate against anyone. Dey're mighty respectful o all Women. Been dere myself once, years back. Dis Shite would no happen dere. Also heard from e Reliable Source dat da Kingdom o Lanis has Dozens o New Dungeons en no Enough Veteran Adventurers given dat de Last War Killed so Many o Dem. We'd Find e Lota Work dere, I've No Doubt."
The Women all looked contemplative about the idea of simply leaving the Masterminds of their group's ill fortune behind them.
Kori'Ya'Kaminari decided to entertain the Idea and bring it to a Vote. "Who's in favor of leaving for Cormire City after this Dungeon Run? I certainly am."
The Short Catkin girl raised her hand Quickly. "I'm in. I'll go Anywhere if it means I never have to return to DunHold again. Marcum really would chain me up if he could. Bastard will say I asked for it. Slavery may be illegal here, but any one of us could easily be made a Debt Servant by borrowing coin from the Wrong Person. Debt Servants in the City might as well be Slaves for How They're Treated. I don't think there's a single Powerful Person in all of DunHold that would risk crossing the GuildMaster just to Save one Catkin girl from Bondage. So long as we remain here their's no way I can keep avoiding him forever. I'll be **** to kill him if he Tries Something. I won't be able to hold back."
The Quiet Catgirl's admonition rallied the others to Her Side. Not that they Needed Much Convincing.
Birnahilder easily threw in Her Support. "O course I'm en. Dem new Debt Servant Collars are Stoneworked Blights. Magically Enchanted ta make People Obey dere Owners. Can no believe dat da Local Church has Approved o dem. Best we get gone afore things get worse round here."
Sophi Happily Agreed to Follow Her Friends. "I'm in." Her Spirits Lifted and the Huge Woman began to Blush. "They say Lanismen are Tall and Handsome. I... don't Mind Going to Cormire City."
Birnahilder snickered at Sophi's Pronouncement. Kori and Emi both cracked a smile at their Companion's Hopeful Desires.
The Conversation Devolved into Shop Talk as they went over their Plans for Delving into My Dungeon.
I continued to rack up My **** Kill Count as the Sexy Adventurers slowly put the layers of their Drying Clothes and Equipment back on. Unfortunately for me, None of Them were willing to go Delving in My Dungeon in the Nude. Not Even Sophi Took My Unoffered Advice to Use Her... Assets, to Distract Her Foes.
The Adventurers began to pack up their Impromptu Camp starting with the Furnace. The Device had already exhausted the Tiny Fire they'd set and it rapidly started to Cool as Birnahilder tended to it. Before they Were Ready to go I had a Pleasant Feeling of Growth come over Me. Flinging around so many Smite Spells unexpectedly paid off. I just Leveled Up My Sorcerer Class Tier.
While Everyone in this World could Feel the Changes when they Leveled up or Gained Abilities. Understanding them and Seeing them were entirely different. While Many Skills became Intuitive when Earned, Many others had to be figured out. That's why knowing what a Person's Status Sheet said could be so important. By Reading what "THE SYSTEM" wrote, a person could better understand Their Own Capabilities rather than trying to figure it all out from Scratch.
From What Abria's told me, Most People Will Never Be Able to Aquire the Means to See Their Own Status Sheet. Only upon Reaching the Vaunted Tier X in Any Class could a Person Gain that Ability. But that was a pursuit that took most People a Lifetime to Achieve. Those who risked their Lives in Battle Powered through their Tiers faster, but it was still a slow Process. So, Most People were Stuck with relying on other's who could provide them with that Information.
There were some NonCombat Classes that provided skills that gave such insights into other People, but the Magical Scrivener Class and the Envoy Class were both hard to obtain. The Magical Scrivener Class was Used Universally by All the World's Civilizations. However, it was Very Rare to encounter a Freelance Magical Scrivener. They were usually Employed and Paid Handsomely by Governments and Guilds alike to Monopolize the Use of their Talents. In Abria's Home City you had to pay the Hefty Fee of 1 Gold Coin in order to get the Archival Hall to have a Magical Scrivener copy down your Entire Personel Sheet.
Now, 1 Gold Coin might not sound like much at first, but that was about what most Menial Workers(Middle/Low Paying Jobs such as Tavern Workers, Mushroom Farmers, Stone Masons, Etcetera, Etcetera) made in a Month. The Majority of Day to Day Routine Transactions were done with Copper and Silver Coinage. While Gold and Platinum were used for Major Purchases. The Duergar used a 100 to 1 Metric in converting Copper to Silver and the Exact Same Metric from Silver to Gold. However from Gold to Platinum only had a 20 to 1 Conversion. Mithril and Adamantium were too Valuable to the Grey Dwarves to be utilized as Easy to Misplace Coinage. Anything Requiring a Higher Value than Bulk Platinum was Usually Paid For in Easy To Carry Rare GemStones. Abria explained all of this to me, but she cautioned that other Nations and Races had different Currencies and Conversion Metrics. My Duergar Consort said their Civilization once discovered a Gnomish Race of Wandering Nomads living deep underground who used a Currency based entirely on Various Types of Mushrooms. Barter was a Foreign Concept to them. Those Gnomes wouldn't accept any other Type of Payment besides Mushrooms. It drove the Duergar absolutely mad. I couldn't help but Chuckle at the Thought.
Despite the Price, Magical Scriveners Usually Delivered Quality Work. It helped that They Could Copy Down Everything that My God's Eye was Capable of. The downside was that a Magical Scrivener couldn't Actually See any of it themselves. Their Skill Only Worked when their Customer put a Hand on an Empty Sheet of Paper. Then the Person's Status Sheet was Copied onto the Page in it's Entirety.
On the other Hand the Envoy Class Was Capable of Seeing a Person's Stat Sheet, but what they Could See was Far More Limited than Magical Scriveners. They Could Only See a Person's Name, Titles, Race, Class Tier/Name, Important Historical Moments and Their Opinion of the Envoy. An Envoy Couldn't Grasp any of the Finer Details, not even the Description of the Person's Class. Their Job didn't require them to know those Finer Details. On top of that Knowledge Gap the Class was only Available to People who were Actual Diplomats for an Existing County. So Envoys weren't really that Helpful to People who wanted to know everything they could be capable of.
Abria admitted that the Duergar had Encountered other Peoples with Abilities and Spells that Related to Seeing Status Sheets. However, they were few in Number and None of them were as Widespread and as Informative as a Magical Scrivener.
So I counted Myself Very Fortunate that I'd Chosen God's Eye as one of My Angel Blessings. I used My Eye in Conjunction with the Small Mirror I Carried to check out My Personal Status Sheet.
Class: Tier II Sorcerer(A Offensive Magic Class- Basic Fire, Water, Earth and Wind Spells. Other Low level Offensive Spells such as Elemental Bullets and Lances. Low Level Potion and Explosives Making. Additional Elemental Infusion Life Sorcerer Spells- Rampant Biology, Drain Life and Control Life. 300% increase to Magical Strength and Defence.)
That... wasn't much of a change. But I suppose I shouldn't expect so much from a Tier II Class Upgrade. For Most Starting Sorcerers a 300% increase to Spellwork was a Huge Bonus. For Me if Felt like Small Potatoes. I had to Remind Myself that Every Bonus Mattered. 300% Extra Magical Strength and Defence would be Helpful in Any Confrontation I had with Magic. Besides I had a Feeling that Tier III was where most people began to obtain More Specialized Classes. Chloe's Primal Hunter Class, Ara'Lea's Javelinier Class and Emi's Battlefield Scavenger Class were Examples of that. My ArchPaladin Class was also an Oddly Specialized Holy Class.
I'd have to think on How I might want to Improve My Class Tiers. Given they'll be a Reward From "THE SYSTEM" The Classes I Get Might Rely more on My Subconscious for Development rather than the Skills I use. It was a Questionable Hypothesis. Nevertheless, I'd better focus My Mind on how I want My Classes to Develop if that is Indeed to be the Case. If I'm wrong then I'll readjust My Thinking.
To be honest I was Rather Shocked by How Quickly I'd gained another Tier in My Sorcerer Class. I'd expected to gain another Tier in Knight First. Then again I was casting alot of Spells on a daily basis. Healing and Holy Smite mostly, but they were still Magical Spells. All Classes had Skill Crossovers that could Benefit more than 1 Class at a time. It's just that most People couldn't have as Many Classes as I could. I wasn't sure How Many Classes People had on Average or if there were also Differences between Races. Or for that matter if there was any Numerical Difference Between Combat Classes, Support Classes or Crafting Classes. It was Entirely Possible that Artisans could have More Classes than Fighters. Or Vise Versa. Judging from what I've seen so far, I would Speculate that Most People Could only Have 2 Classes. But again, that was only My Most Prevalent Theory. My Theories on how I Gained Enough Experience to Reach Tier II in My Sorcerer Class was Even Less Concrete. Perhaps it was due to how Potent My Spellwork was. Multiple Kills per single Cast of Smite might net me more experience than normal. Or it might simply be that I'm killing with the Spells at all. Without the Increases to My Magical Strength alot of the Spells in My Arsenal would take Many Repeated Castings to Kill My Enemies. Well, However it Worked, I was fortunate to have obtained a New Tier So Quickly. Even if it was only Tier II and the Class Name hadn't even Changed.
The only other change on My Status Sheet was to My Dungeon. But I'll Examine that information later. With the Wargames still Ongoing My Dungeon was Accumulating more Dead Army Ants and Arachne by the Minute. My Dungeon Domain was growing and I barely had to lift a finger to make it happen.
Adventuring Team Sexy Donned their Heavy Traveling Cloaks. They rushed down past the Destroyed Town Gates and through the Short Space of Open Terrain between their Building and the Gigantic Gate of My Dungeon. Once inside they Wrung the Excess Rainwater off their Cloaks as best they could and Rolled up the Heavy Fabric to Strap them down on the Side of their Backpacks. They Were on Gaurd, ready for the Fighting to Begin at a Moments Notice. But it didn't come immediately. The Dangerous Women Moved into My Delvers Dungeon.
It was no surprise to me that they Slaughtered their way through the First Few Groups of Kobolds that Attacked them. But they didn't come through unscathed. My Kobolds were Learning New Tricks. They'd started to Construct Traps to make up for their Lack of Strength. They Took to the Concept like Fish to Water. The probable reason why they hadn't used any before was that I'd refused to build any Traps in My Dungeon. At least Until Earlier this Morning. Rather than Teach the Kobolds Myself I decided to set up Examples of Various simple Traps I'd Seen used on Earth. Vine Tripwires that Sprung Tree Branches with tied on Wooden Stakes, Camouflaged Earthen Pit Traps with Wooden Spikes at the Bottom, Leaf Fiber Tripwires that Unleashed Hidden Arrows, Hidden Wooden Pressure Plates that Set of a Cascade of Falling Stones or a Dropped a Net of Vines. The list went on and on. I set up these Traps in an Area that I knew had Heavy Kobold Traffic. The Traps killed Quite a Few Kobolds. But the Survivors took mental notes on the Construction of Every Trap. The Kobolds weren't stone stupid, they understood their Weaknesses. They just needed some ideas to base their Conniving Instincts on. And now they Had them. The Notion of Building Traps spread like a Raging Wildfire throughout My Dungeon. There wasn't a single group of Kobolds in My Dungeon that hadn't built at least 1 Trap.
I got to see My Kobold's Newfound Ingenuity at work. A Tribe of 234 Kobolds had built a Fortified TreeFort Stronghold between Three Large Entangled Trees. The Intelligent Lizards had set up an overlapping Ring of Traps around Their TreeFort. I hadn't been giving My Kobolds enough Credit. This Industrious Tribe had worked Feverishly all Morning to Improve their Defences. They had large Pit Traps with Spikes covered with long reeds disguised with a Thin layer of dirt. These Kobolds had driven Small Sharpened Stakes into the Dirt Hidden in the Tall Grass and then set up Vine Tripwires or Slippery Oils to make Creatures Loose their footing and fall into the Camouflaged Patches of Spikes. It was a Good Setup. Unfortunately for this Tribe of Kobolds their Hard Work wouldn't Save Them From Being Harvested by The Reaper.
Sophi ended up Charging straight through the Minefield of Various Traps to get into the Heart of the Kobold Camp. None of the Mundane Traps could Hurt Her through Her Magical Barrier and none of the Pit Traps were deep Enough to Slow the Harvest Reaper for Very Long.
Kori'Ya'Kaminari used her Ice Archery Skills to Shoot up into the TreeFort With Deadly Precision. Kobolds died one after another as they tried to hurl Spears Down at Sophi. Who completely ignored the NonMagical Projectiles that couldn't even hurt her Aura Shield. Curiously Kori didn't use any of the Arrows from her Hip Quiver. She Repeatedly Created New Arrows out of Solid Ice with her IceCrafted Arrows Magical Ability. And she did so Quickly. There was barely any Pause between Shots. She Fired an Arrow, Ice Coalesced rapidly from Thin Air, she placed the still forming Arrow to her BowString. By the Time it Finished Forming Kori'Ya'Kaminari had her Next Target in sight and Loosed the Icy Magical Projectile. One Ice Arrow was all Kori Needed to Kill a Single Kobold. It didn't matter where she hit them. The SpellWrought Woman had a 2300% increase to her Ice Magic's Strength. Anytime one of Her Magical Arrows Hit a Kobold the effective 2 Inch Radious around the Wound didn't just Cause Freezing Damage. It Completely Froze Solid that Portion of the Kobold's body and made it Extreamly Prone to being Shattered. The Freezing Effect of Kori's Magical Ice didn't stop there. It surpassed the IceEdge Sagittarii's FrostBite Arrow Ability. Her Ice Magic Followed the Kobold's Blood Veins and Froze them all Solid as Well. I don't need to say what Kind off effect that much Damage would do to a Living Body. Especially to a Blood Pumping Heart or to the Blood and Cerebral Fluid in the Brain. Instant ****. The Kobolds had very little resistance to Magic. They Didn't stand a chance of Surviving Any Direct Dit. The Sad thing was that I knew Kori'Ya'Kaminari was holding back. What she was doing now were the Least of her Abilities. She didn't add in any Lightning. Nor Did She use Any Pykrete aside from the Simple Light Suit of Pykrete Armor Kori Crafted for Own Protection. It was no wonder she didn't mind her Skimpy Leather Brigandine Outfit. She didn't Usually rely on it as Her Primary Defence in Battle.
One Member of the Team got the Short Straw and had to sit out this ****. Emi remained at Kori's Side to Protect their Valuable Archer.
It was Birnahilder who managed to get injured. She followed slowly in Sophi's wake with Her Shield up at the Ready. She did an excellent job Navigating her way through the Traps. However the Dwarven Bulwark missed seeing a Shinny Sheen upon the Grass at her feet. The Organic Plant Based Lubricant was the Same Type of Oil that Abria and QuickSilver had used to Massage Me. My Dryad Daughters had done as I'd asked. They Taught the Kobolds about simple Poisons that could be concocted from the Evolving Plantlife in My Dungeon. They'd Also briefly Explained the uses of Other Alchemical Substances like this Oil. Birnahilder looked pretty Surprised as Her Heavy Boots Lost their Traction on the Tremendously Slick Diagonally Placed Stone. The Stone hadn't been visable from her position. It'd been hidden just behind the Oil Soaked Grass. The Dwarfess had navigated past two Pit Traps along a Narrow Stretch of ground. Perfect for this Kind of Slip Trap. She might've seen the Oil on the Grass if she hadn't been Distracted. Several Kobolds noticed Birnahilder was getting Close to their Trap. They Threw their Crude Spears and Taunted the Dwarf in their Own Language. Birnahilder took the Bait and missed seeing the Trap as she walked onto the Oil. Her Steady Feet slipped right out from under her. She landed hard on her Back and Side where a patch of Tiny Wooden Spikes had been hidden close to the Ground Concealed by the Grass. Birnahilder's Armor Saved her From being Punctured well over a Dozen times. But 1 Spike got Lucky and found a Gap in her Heavy Armor. The little Spike Pierced at least an Inch into Birnahilder's Hip.
Seeing the Blood Flowing from the Bulwark's Side I was Tempted to kill the Kobolds Responsible for that Trap. How dare they Harm Birnahilder's Sexy Hips. I had to Mentally Slap My Draconic Nature who was already trying to claim ownership of the Dwarven Warrior Woman. She wasn't ours. Considering the Power of this Adventuring Team I wasn't going to Even Try. My Hopes for thinking up any way to Make Them Join Me Were Worsening as I learned more about how Truly Capable They Were.
Birnahilder wasn't Phased by the Single Puncture Wound. She rose up onto her Feet steadying herself on Solid Ground to Protect herself from the Kobolds Trying to Hurl Spears at Her. In her hand she held the Spike that pierced her. She scrutinized the Bloody Spike then tossed the unpoisoned stick away. Birnahilder then Joined Sophi and Kori'Ya'Kaminari in Butchering the Defending Kobolds.
Afterwards Birnahilder was Healed by their Resident Healer. I got to enjoy the Sight of the Mature Black Haired Dwarfess as she smiled and Kissed the Bobcat Catkin Girl. Sophi and Kori'Ya'Kaminari didn't watch the Spectacle. They looked for Loot among the Dead Kobolds. Birnahilder and Emi's Kiss was Just as Heated as The last Healing Kiss I'd Witnessed. The Dwarven Woman looked Proud to have elicited a Moan out of Emi. While the Purring Catgirl Shyly ducked away saying she needed to help with Searching the TreeFort. But Emi couldn't refrain from adding a Coquettish Smile to her Lips as she turned her back on Birnahilder.
The Adventurers found a Paltry Collection of Loot. The Bulk of it was Copper Ore with a few Rocks of Silver Ore thrown in. The Rune Enchanted Iron Duergar Ring I'd Given the Kobolds was the Most Worthwhile Treasure there. At least according to Kori'Ya'Kaminari. Kori Stated Firmly that the Runic Enchantment on the Ring was a Weak Hardened Bones Spell.
While Seeing Status Sheets might be a Costly Expense for People, Item Identification was much more Prevalent and Accessible. My Duergar Consort Informed Me that All Crafters had the Limited Ability to Identify Items that fell into Their Crafting Sphere of Influence. If a Clothier could Craft Silk then they Could Identify any Item that contained a Significant Portion of Silk. The only Exception was Magical Items. If that Silken Item was Magical then the Clothier could still Identify it, however the Magical Properties of the Item would remain a Mystery. That Clothier's Identification would result in Question Marks in Place of the Magical Abilities and the Item Description of Who Enchanted it. Only an Enchanter or a Similar Magical Crafting Class could Identify a Magical Item. Although some Special Abilities to do so did Exist. Skills to Identify Items were Rare, but they were so much Easier to Obtain than Abilities that could See Status Sheets. For instance Most Middle Tier Merchant Classes had an Item Appraisal Skill that let them know an Item's Value. However All High Tier Merchants were able to Fully Identify Items. Having so many People who could Analyze Items ment that Prices for Identification were Normally Quite Reasonable.
Amongst the Scant amount of Loot, Birnahilder also Proclaimed that the Ring was their Best Find, but for different reasons. She admitted that Duergar Crafted Items being discovered here was a good indication that there was likely a Fallen Duergar Settlement Nearby. It would otherwise be hard for any Dungeon to have a Surplus of Duergar Trinkets on Hand. Birnahilder surmised that it was possible for My Dungeon to Possess even Greater Duergar Treasures. As much as she disliked the Duergar as a Race, the Prospect of Recovering Ancient Dwarven Relics was a Huge Draw for the Dwarf. She even spoke of Finding Valuable Duergar Treasures. Birnahilder Grudgingly gave the Duergar credit for Engineering Masterful Weapons of War. The Gleem in Her Eyes Spoke of how Excited she'd become at Finding this Minor Magical Ring.
The Majority of the Enchanted Equipment I'd looted from the Duergar was locked in My Treasury. But I'd decided to deposit a few of My Lesser Magical Trinkets to see what this Team thought of them. This Ring was already paying me back. Having Duergar Items was Clearly an attraction to Dwarves. I didn't doubt that more Adventurers would be drawn in with the Promise of Grey Dwarven Treasures. The Promise of such Treasures Might also prevent Some Adventurers from Attempting to Destroy My Dungeon Core. They wouldn't bother at all if they Knew the Core near My Boss Room was a Fake and that the Real Core was inside of Me. I was the Core.
The Adventurers set about Delving Deeper into My Dungeon. They debated the Idea of Clearing Every passageway and Cave. It was their Time Crunch that killed that Idea. They Elected to Hold off on Clearing everything in favor of Making it to the Heart of My Dungeon. Which they Mistakenly thought lay at the end of the Mile Long Crevasse they were Traversing. They had Many More Fights before they reached the End of the Entrance Crevasse. Most of their Encounters were with Groups of Kobolds, but they Fought some of My Feral WereBoars and Harvested their Tusks afterwards.
A Mated Pair of Cave Bears attacked them from a Side Cave. The Sudden Surprise Roar of the Cave Bears scared the Shit out of the Adventurers. But the Women knew their Business and Defended themselves Adequately.
Birnahilder placed herself in front of One Bear and Used Her Spear Sword, Iron Stealer to Drain away the Gigantic Bear's Blood Iron. The Beast Smashed a Birnahilder Sized Paw down onto the Dwarf, but The Stout Woman Took No Damage at all. The only Response the Heavy Strike Elicited was a Grunt as the Bulwark Drove her Enchanted Spear Sword deep into the Bear's Arm. Birnahilder could Tank alot of Damage without issue. Between her Immovable Anchor Power and her Abilities as a Bulwark I don't think this Cave Bear realized that he was badly outmatched. The Cave Bear tried to slash at the Unmoving Dwarf to no effect. Planted in Defence Birnahilder was 6 Times Faster than normal and Her Raw Strength was actually a match for the Huge Bear. Every time the Bear Struck it was Birnahilder her cut deeply into her Attacker. This was the Kind of Fight this Dwarven Bulwark Excelled at. It wasn't too long before Birnahilder's Massive Challenger was Overtired, Drained Completely of his Formidable Energy. He looked Confused and tried to drag himself towards Birnahilder in an attempt to bite her. The Black Haired Dwarfess showed her Enemy Mercy and Stabbed the Floundering Beast through it's Huge Eye, Finishing her kill in one Last Blow.
The Others Finished even Quicker, then they moved to back up their Bulwark, but they didn't attack. They knew better than to interfere with a Party Members Kill. Experience Stealing was a probably a Huge Taboo.
At the Beginning of the fight Emi had Hung back to provide support for anyone who needed it, Sophi and Kori'Ya'Kaminari had engaged the Female Cave Bear. Kori's First Arrow took one of the Bear's Legs out of Commission within the first few seconds. Then Sophi began ripping her Scythe Through the Bear. Her Scythe ignored the Bear's Thick Pelt and Hide as though it wasn't even there. I guess it counted as Armor. And as a Harvest Reaper, Sophi's Scythe ignored all NonMagical Armor. I'd never before heard such a Pitiful Mewling sound come from such a Ferocious Beast. It wasn't a very pleasant sound. Thankfully the Bear was put out of it's Miserable state by Kori'Ya'Kaminari who put an Ice Arrow into it's Eyebrow. The Resulting Magical Freezing Effect Destroyed the Bear's Brain ending the Wailing Creature.
When the Party came back together they Discussed the Encounter. That was the Third Monster Type they'd Fought. The Women were confused as to how a New Dungeon could have so many different Creatures. They convinced themselves that these Bear's and the Large Boars might actually be Real Creatures that'd migrated into the Dungeon. It wasn't unheard of for Natural Born Creatures to enter Dungeons and Mutate Quickly in the Higher Mana Environments. These Women were in for a Rude Awakening.
It took them a bit less than 4 hours to Reach the End of My Entrance Crevasse. Mostly because of the Constant Fighting. I was surprised that They Hadn't Encountered anything more than Kobolds and WereBoars after their Fight against the Two Cave Bears. They Almost had a Run in with a Small Herd of 8 Ankol. But the Elephant Sized Horned Bovine moved away from the Adventurers before either of the Groups spotted each other. I wasn't sure but it seemed that the Hostility Level of a Dungeon Creature depended heavily on it's Natural Aggression. I could Order NonAggressive Dungeon Creatures to Attack. That might well be the Norm for Dungeons. Or it could be that Most Dungeons Don't Have much in the Way of Prey Animals. The Difference between Regular Prey Animals and My Prey Creatures lay in their Response to a Challenge. None of them would run away from a Fight before at least some combat took place. Only if they Knew for Certain that they were about to Lose did My Creatures Retreat. After that Near Miss with the Ankol the Adventurers only had one other Close Encounter. Not wanting to kill these Women I shooed away a PseudoDrake Swarm that was getting too Close. Sophi and Birnahilder might survive the Nasty Little Monsters, but I really disliked the Idea of letting Kori'Ya'Kaminari or Emi Die.
So when the Adventuring Team came around the Last bend in the Crevasse and Beheld the Miles Long Expanse of My Winding River Canyon, their Mouths Practically Gaped Open in Shock. From their perch on the Half Ruined Roadway above the Canyon standing next to the River, they had a breathtaking Veiw of the Underground Valley I'd Created. They Didn't know this, but My Delvers Dungeon wrapped around the Crevasse. Currently the Winding path of the Canyon was about about 14 Miles Long and approximately 2 Miles Wide. I had alot of Extra Acreage in My Domain. I felt like I had to use it for something. My Hives had Too much Space as it was. So I'd enlarged My Canyon and added Caves and Tunnels everywhere around the Canyon Itself.
The Women were Silent in Awe. Clearly a Dungeon My Size wasn't Normal. Especially an Unknown Dungeon My Size. The Darkness of the Cavern's Craggy Ceiling was nearly absolute but the Canyon Itself was Illuminated with Countless Bright Light Crystals. Most of them were a Bright Yellow Orange Hue like a Desert Sunset. But the Light Crystals along the Flowing River were a Contrasting Mix of Blue and Deep Orange. From their High Vantage point the Adventurers could See much of the Wildlife for about 2 Miles in the Distance before the Canyon Curved out of Sight. Herds of Ankol, WereBoars and Giant Elk could be seen Grazing in the Distance. Thorny Dragons were Naturally Camouflaged and harder to see, but several were visible. A Few Pairs of Hunting Cave Bears Lumbered in search of Prey. Some of these Creatures were in the Deeper parts of the Canyon, while others were up on the Scattered High Grassland Plateaus Littering the Highest Reaches of the Valley.
Eventually Sophi was the One who Broke the Silent Moment. "Who was it that Said "This" was a New Dungeon?"
That Question opened the Floodgates.
Emi let out a Soft Expletive. "What The Hell."
Kori'Ya'Kaminari's Question was aimed at Birnahilder. "I thought you said New Dungeons were only about a Mile in size." The IceEdge Sagittarii looked sharply at her Dwarven Companion.
Birnahilder Waived her Spear Sword at My Canyon. "New Dungeon My Arse. Dis Dungeon es e Tier Two, Minimum." Then she pointed her weapon at My Dungeon Creatures. First at a Partially Camouflaged Thorny Dragon then at one of the Herds of Ankol. "Two Types o Monsters. Never seen dat en Me Life. I heard about e Legendary Dungeon wid Many Types, but was only dat, e Rumor." Birnahilder looked flabbergasted. "Dis Dungeon musta been buried down here e long time den grown upwards. Notin Else Makes Sense."
"Do we Continue on?" Sophi asked sounding a bit unsure.
Birnahilder laid out the Dangers. "Likely dere's goin ta be Elite Monsters. Mayhaps even e Boss. Dere's No Chance we've seen de worst Creatures dis Dungeon has ta offer."
The SteelPounder paused to think through what those added risks ment for their Dungeon Delve. They were still on a ticking clock after all.
Then Birnahilder nodded and Smiled. "Aye, I say we push en es far es we can. See what Loot knocks loose. Wish we coulda Delved dis place months ago. Es e perfect Dungeon fer long term Farmen."
The others agreed with that sentiment. None of them disagreed with Birnahilder's Judgment. I guessed she had more experience with Dungeons than Emi, Sophi or Kori'Ya'Kaminari.
The Veteran Adventurers were tense with trepidation over what they Might Encounter, but that didn't stop them. They spent the next few hours making as much headway along the Canyon as they could. They avoided fighting My larger Prey Animals like the Giant Elk and Ankol. They talked about how they could've made a killing on the Antlers, Horns and Pelts but they didn't have the Carrying Capacity. Kori'Ya'Kaminari suggested they could Craft two Draggable litters from Wood and the Rope in their Packs. The others agreed it was a good idea, but they held off for now. They wanted to see what else My Dungeon offered first. Being stuck with the litters would slow them down.
They were Approaching the first sharp bend in the Canyon when I Earned what I'd been working on. It only Took me about 7 hours of almost Nonstop Magical ****. I Mirror Eyed My Status Sheet.
Class: Tier I Assassin(A NonMagical Offensive Combat Class- Gains the Shroud Ability which Cloaks this Individual in Magical Shadow for 1 Hour, includes Silent Movement. Gain a 100% Increase to Physical Strength for 1 Minute After Going into Stealth. Can Alchemically Concoct Lethal Toxins for Claw or Blade.)
Tier I Assassin wasn't very Impressive. But I was looking forward to seeing what I could level it up into. I could easily see myself as an Arcane Assassin, Silent VenomBlade or a **** of Tentacles. Ok, maybe that last one was just a little too weird. Anyways. So now it was time to Hulk Out and get My Rage on. As much as I didn't care for becoming a Barbarian I did want to Tier Up and become a Weapons Master or something equally as Talented. I briefly thought about taking on a Crafter Class. However, I had alot of Talented People Surrounding Me. It was My Job to be the Strongest Individual I could to hold off the Worlds Worst Threats. So No Crafting Classes for Me. I would Raise up My People to Fill those Roles.
As I would loose track of Everything while I was Raging Out I left standing instructions for My Dungeon Creatures. PseudoDrake Swarms were not allowed to go near the Adventuresses. My Ambush Drake Pack Master, DragonSpawn Warmaster and StagTaur Herder were Prohibited from attacking the Group unless attacked first. Even in that case then I only gave them Permission to Engage Birnahilder and Sophi. Lastly I ordered My ManEater Goats to reveal themselves to the Adventurers multiple times in Advance of any attack. That would give the Women time to Prepare for the Unorthodox Crazy Charge of the Large Muscular Goats. I don't think anything else would pose a Significant Enough Risk for me to worry about. I felt Comfortable leaving the Women to their Explorations for the Next Few Hours. I'm 90% sure that I'll be done before the Women Set Up Camp for the Night.
I arrived in My Grand Arena to Find 20 Cohorts of Army Ants Ready and Willing to Die for Me. This Time would be a bit different From My other Arena Fights. First off, there were No Weapons Allowed. I Myself would Fight today with nothing but My Armored Fists. I figured that would be the Best way to Put Myself into an Enraged State. My Speech to the Troops told My Army Ants that Any Soldier who survived a Crippling Strike from Me Today would have the Right to Join the Royal Legion. With the Added Incentive that if they Could Pin Me Down and make me unable to fight, then they would All be Granted Legionary Status without the Need to get hurt. I would heal all wounds once the Battle was concluded. And this Would be A Battle. No Squad Fights this time. I ordered My Army Ant Commanders to Send an Entire Cohort to fight me all at once. When those 1000 Soldiers dropped to less than 300 effective Fighters then another Cohort was to enter the Battle and Engage Me. There would be no telling how many Survivors remained until the End of the Battle. The Reason Why I decided to do this with Double the Number needed by the Class Requirement, was because I knew there would be many Soldiers Who Were Injured rather than Killed. I only wanted to have to do this Rage Out Battle Once.
I checked in one last time with Sophi, Birnahilder, Emi and Kori'Ya'Kaminari. They'd Reached the Bend of the Canyon and were once Again Stunned to see that there was yet More Miles of Canyon Ahead of them. I Chuckled as Birnahilder Cursed. She really wanted to reach the End of My Dungeon to Aquire the Best Rewards that lay within My Dungeon. She was Just now Realizing how many Days such an Endeavor Might take. But there were other options. Seeing the Road leading to one of the Dwarven Mining Outposts in the Distance Birnahilder suggested they See what they could Find there.
And then My Work Began.
It was a Bloody Battle. The Fight Started with 1000 Stone Armored Shield Bearing Army Ant Soldiers Charging Me with the intent to Swarm and Incapacitate Me. I focused on My Rage and nothing else. I Punched and Swiped Wildly with My Heavy Armored Fists. Wielding Nothing more than My Emanation Steel Armor I Rampaged as the Swarm Crashed Into and Climbed Over Me. I was Hardly even aware of My Extra Limbs as My Powerful Wings Smashed down upon and batted away My Opponents. My Multitude of Tentacles reached out and ripped Clinging Soldiers off of My Body. The Sound of Stone Equipment and Chitin Carapaces Shattering became a Musical Accompaniment to My Frenzied Mind. As did the Screams and War Cries of My Opponents. I couldn't feel the passage of Time. Only the Crunch and Snap as I ripped My Enemies Appart. Whether I liked it or not the Single Mindedness was necessary for Me to Become a Barbarian. So I did what was Necessary. I only came out of My Enraged State after Many Minutes of Looking around for My Next Enemy to Destroy. But as no Opponents Challenged Me I slowly came back to My Senses.
At some Point in the Fight I'd Changed Forms. I can't remember when it Happened. I only Remember that My Teeth and Jaws had Killed more than their Fair Share. Was My Draconic Form Taller? I felt like I was Bigger than the last time I was in My Dragon Form. I also felt less... Wormlike. If that was possible. Hmm... My Moss Slime Daughter Clung to the Underside of My Dragon/Worm Hybrid Form. My Emanation Armor lay in Tangled Wreckage on the Floor Nearby. Oops... The Angelic Steel was Shredded from when I'd Changed Forms too fast for the Steel Plated Emanation to Compensate. I was Drenched in Gore and Bits of Stone and Chitin. I looked for Survivors and Grimaced Hard when I Discovered that only a Few of My Soldiers had Managed to survive My Out of Control Attacks. My Strength was such that even My Tentacles could Crush through Stone Armor. Out of the 20 Thousand Soldiers who Came out to Fight Me only 383 were able to Drag themselves clear of the Carnage My Blind Rage had Brought Forth. The First thing I did was Heal those Survivors. They Held Me No Animosity. Their Loyalty was Genuine and I Promised Myself to make all of their Sacrifices Count for Something. They Deserved that Much from Me. To give their Deaths Meaning. To that End I switched Forms and Checked to make sure that I'd Accomplished My Goal. In that Rage State I hadn't Felt Myself Gain the Class. I reached down below and My Moss Slime Daughter handed Me the Small Mirror She Kept Safe within Her Form. There it was. My God's Eye Confirmed that the Deed was Done. There were a Few Unexpected Boons from this Battle. And My Dungeon had Grown Even More Formidable.

The Origins of Metal II(This Dungeon has reached Tier IV and is now capable of using it's Mana to create Veins of Most Common Metals(Tin, Copper, Iron, Zinc, Orichalcum) in the Ground to harvest itself or leave for Adventurers to Mine. These Metals will form without direction within this Dungeon. The more valuable the Metal the longer it will take to create.)
Dungeon Products I(This Dungeon has reached Tier IV and is now capable of using it's Mana to create Naturally Occurring Raw Materials(Alum, Quartz, Lapis Lazuli) in the Ground to harvest itself or leave for Adventurers to Gather or Mine. These Raw Materials will form without direction within this Dungeon. The more valuable the Material the longer it will take to create.)
Boss Monsters: Minotaur Lord
Elite Monsters: Ambush Drake Pack Master, Ceryneian Hind, DragonSpawn Warmaster, StagTaur Herder
Creatures: Kobold-3035, Lizardmen-541, Thorny Dragon-99, Ambush Drake-71, StormLizard-48, PseudoDrake Swarm-6, Sand Wyvern-2, WereBoar-773, Ankole-380, Cave Bear-78, Giant Elk-61, ManEater Goat-49, Elasmotherium-27, Kelenken-32
OH! My Race's Development Stage had Improved. Did this have something to do with Me Fighting in My Dragon/Worm Form? Did I Gain More Experience from simply being in that Form or was it Just Coincidence and I would've Leveled Up My Race Anyways? This was another one of those things I didn't have enough Data to Confirm Either Way. I didn't Realize Raising My Development Stage Tier would have a direct effect upon My Stat Numbers. My Magical Stat Numbers increased by almost 10% While My Physical Stat Numbers went up by just under 20%. Would I see such Growth During every Racal Level Up? I had too many Questions and not enough Data. That kind of information came only with Time and Experiences. But Technically I was still Young Yet. A Juvenile if My Development Stage was Accurate. I had no Reason to believe otherwise. As a Dragon Minotaur Hybrid there was No Telling How Long I could Live or what I would Look Like at Development Stage Tier X. I had time to Learn all the Answers I Sought. Providing I lived through the Dangers of this World. Which was Precisely the Reason Why I was Working so hard to Improve Myself.
So I really had Grown in Size and Strength. My Humanoid Form Hadn't Changed Too Much. My Hybrid Minotaur/Dragon Horns atop My Head were a bit larger with a tinge of Black upon the Horn's Ivory Tips, My Dragon Scales were a tad thicker, My Dragon's Tail was a tiny bit Longer and the Spikes Covering My Entire Body were a smidge sharper. Those Upgrades had also occurred to My Other Form, but the Broad Changes to My Dragon Form were more Considerable. My Draconic Form had gained about 3 feet in Height, I was a bit Bulkier than before having gained some More Muscle, My Dark Red Black Scales had Deepened their Coloring by a tiny Fraction and I'd lost some of My More Wormlike Aspects in favor of more Draconic Features. I was very happy with these improvements. What would I look Like at Development Stage Tier IV?
The Upgrade to Tier II Knight was very Unexpected. Did a portion of any Experience I Gained go to each of My Classes? How did I manage to improve My Knight Class without any Allies to Protect? Wait... I did Have an Ally. My Moss Slime Daughter. She went with Me Everywhere. I guess I was inadvertently Protecting Her During Every Fight We've ever had Together. Huh. Maybe it isn't so Crazy that My Knight Class Improved so Fast.
The Class of Barbarian was Mine. That Left only 1 Open Class Slot Available for Me. I didn't Particularly want to pick up Ranger. So I decided not to. I guess I'll leave the Slot Open until I see a Class Worth Taking. I could Always Try to become an Enchanter. Then Again, I Personally felt My Best Path lay in Focusing on Magic and Combat Classes. I would Work on What I have until an Idea of what to do with that Empty Class Slot Occurs to me.
My Dungeon Tier has Improved and I'd Gained another Mile and a Half in Radious. That was Excellent Progress. The Extra Experience Probably had to do with the Thousands of Dead That My Wargames provided, along with the General Advancement of Levels Among All My Troops. From My Youngest Soldiers to My Oldest Veterans. The Fact that I actually had some Veterans among My ranks showed how Astounding our Progress was. And We had a few more every day. I counted a Total of Around 26 Thousand Dead Today. If My Senses were correct then more than 5 Thousand Deaths had occurred without My Help in Today's Wargames. Quite the Bloody Affair. And an Excellent Training Tool For My Armies. It'll get even Bloodier when I permit My Other 2 Hives to get Involved. The Addition of My Warrior Wasps and the Shadow Warrior Arachne will make for a Devastatingly Effective Training Meat Grinder. It'll probably be as Bloody as I've Made it sound.
My DungeonCrafting hasn't improved. I guess that's one Skill I'll have to Level up by Actually Crafting through My Dungeon.
I now had access to some New Metals. If I recall correctly. Zinc combined with Copper to Make Brass just as Copper and Tin Made Bronze. Unfortunately those Tidbits of Knowledge didn't do me much good without a Forge and a Dedicated Team of Smiths. At least I was Accumulating these Metals. Iron and Orichalcum as well. Although I wasn't Very Familiar with the Latter Metal. I've heard of Orichalcum before. Many Earth Games portray it. But there was no telling it's Properties or Value in this World. I'll have to ask My Duergar Consort. Abria would Probably Know.
My Dungeon was now Producing Alum, Quartz and Lapis Lazuli. Quartz was Simple to understand. My Dungeon was giving me a never-ending source of Light Crystals. Some of the Extras could be used in DungeonCrafting or Given out as Petty Loot if Adventurers had a use for them. They Probably did. Lapis Lazuli is a Very Pretty Deep Blue Semi Precious Stone back on Earth. The Stone was Known for it's Spiritual Properties. No Idea if that holds true here, but I'd bet that it did. There seemed to be many Correlations between the Fact and Fantasies of the Two Worlds that Just Fit Together. There was no telling how Rare it Might be Here. Then there was Alum. I can recall Alum being an Important Luxury Resource back in Earth's Ancient History. However I can't remember Why. Something to do with Dying Clothes, I think? That only added to the list of Questions I needed to Ask My Women.
My Dungeon hadn't Gained any new Elite Creatures this Time. But the Increase in Total Numbers was Substantial. And I did have 2 New Creatures. A Sand Wyvern was exactly what I expected a Wyvern to Look Like. My Male and Female Pair of Wyverns were about the Size of My Newly Upgraded Dragon Form. They looked like Sand Colored Dragons But without a Pair of Front Arms. My Dragon Nature told Me that Wyverns didn't have Breath Attacks. Wyverns did have a dangerous unique feature though. Their Long Tails Ended in a Sharp Stinger which held Poisonous Venom. Another Factoid My Draconic side gave me was that Sand Wyverns were Predictable Beasts. They liked to Fly Close to the Ground in order to Kick up Sand. Both to Hide the Wyvern From their Prey's Sight and to Disorient then Drive the Prey out into the Open. When I thought about who might win a Fight, Me or one of these Wyverns, My Instincts Told Me I Would Win Hands Down. And that wasn't just Boastful Bravado. My Strength was Unparalleled for My Size and Age. These Wyverns were at the Peak of their Might. Some Species of Wyverns were bigger but there were reasons why Dragons were at the Top of the Food Chain. Wyverns didn't have Magic. My Instincts told me Wyverns knew their Place in the Draconic pecking order. No Wyvern would Willingly go after Any Dragon. It was Wired into all Wyvern's Brains. To Attack or Challenge any Dragon was ****. Even if a Wyvern won the Fight it would be marked for **** by a Dying Dragon's Magical Signature. All Dragons would know what that Wyvern did and it would be Hunted by any Nearby Dragons on Sight. Wyverns had learned to Avoid the Domains of Dragons. The Mighty Drakes Might Occasionally Challenge a Dragon for Territory but 90% of those Fights Ended the Drake's Life. Physical Strength Mattered, but Dragon Magic Trumped Brute Strength.
My other New Dungeon Creature was the Kelenken. At first I didn't know what I was looking at. They were Powerfully Legged Large Birds about 10 Feet Tall, with Stubby Feathered Arms and Huge Horse Head Sized Beaks. They Were Sandy Brown or Sandy Grey in Coloring with a Lighter Colored Underbelly. Then it clicked. This was one of the Various Species of Terror Bird. One of the Largest Ones. I'll fully Admit that I've recently had a Hankering for Chicken. Otherwise I wasn't exactly sure how I'd ended up with this Creature. I guess it could be loosly Classified as a Beast. The Kelenken Must've Weighed somewhere around 400 Pounds. Their Thick Raptor-Like Legs were Strong enough to allow this Breed of Terror Bird to Run at Relatively Fast Speeds. They would never reach a Cheata's Level of Speed, but they Could Very Easily Run Down Most Humanoid Species.
I watched as a New Flock of Kelenken... Hmm... Should I call them Packs? I guess so. A Flock doesn't quite sound right. A Pack of 7 Kelenken managed to surprise a Herd of My Muscular ManEater Goats who'd just started feasting upon an Ankol they'd Smashed upon the Rocks. The 8 ManEater Goats were surprised by the Fast Moving Terror Birds. Even so it Looked like the Curve Horned Crazy Goats would Stay and Fight for Their Dinner. At least until the First Kelenken Attacked. The Terror Bird's 2 Foot Long Heavy and Sharp Pointed Beak Came Down with alot of Strength upon one Goat's Spine. The Hight difference between the Kelenken and the ManEater Goats was too much. The Huge Horns of the Goats were almost usless as a Defence against strikes coming in from above. The Large Kelenken Beak Striking the Goats Spine was the End of that ManEater Goat. There was a Sharp Sound as Bone cracked. Blood splashed out of the Puncture Wound as the Beak came free of the Goat's Spine. The Bulky Form of the ManEater Goat lost control of the back half of it's body. The Beast had became Paralyzed for whatever remained of it's Life. The Rest of the Goats had seen enough and felt it too. Several of them bore painful bleeding strike wounds from the Terror Bird's Beaks. They Collectively Raced away down the Next Cliff Face where they could be safe from Being Chased. The Kelenken didn't need to chase the Oversized Goats. They had all the Food they needed to be satisfied. The Breying Paralyzed Goat didn't last long. Three of the Kelenken surrounded it and Pummeled it to **** with their Sharpened Heavy Beaks. Then the Pack of 7 Terror Birds Began to Rip Strips of Flesh from the Ankol and the defeated ManEater Goat.
Looking in on My Newest Creatures always gave me alot of Insight into their Behavior as a Species. They were always Hungry when they arrived so I didn't have to wait and watch them for Long Periods of Time. I'd just begun to watch 1 of My Sand Wyverns Swooping in to Attack a Herd of Giant Elk when I finally registered a pull on My Dungeon Senses. It'd been there since I finished My Slaughter in the Arena. I just hadn't noticed it. Until Now.
There was A Large Group of Unknown People Already Inside My Dungeon.
Wait What? When Did They Get Here? Who's This Moving Inside Of My Dungeon?
