False alarm

Chloe smirked as she hosed down the humiliated and shivering Victoria, the blonde girl spitting and sputtering as the blue haired girl wished she had the ability to take a picture right now. Rachel and Max, on the other hand, were watching the street like a pair of hawks as they kept an eye out for anything black and white. After a while, Victoria's face and body was finally clean of the red goop on her body, with only the ketchup and sauce in her hair remaining.

"Okay, Vicki." Chloe said, "Time to rinse your hair."

"I am so taking a long, hot shower after this!" Victoria moaned. "I may need to use every bottle and bar of soap in your bathroom."

Just as Chloe took aim at Victoria's head, however, Max caught a glimpse of a small, black and white animal making it's way through the bushes. "Guys." She said, "In the house. Now."

"But I've still got all this gunk in my -"

"Now! Skunk!" Max shouted, pointing at the bush.

The four girls dropped everything and ran to the backyard, throwing open the backdoor and racing into the house. The girls then stopped in front of the living room window to see the bushes shaking as...

A black and white tuxedo cat came bounding out of the bushes, letting out a meow as it began to groom itself.

"Phew!" Chloe said, sighing in relief, "It's only Sprinkles."

"Who?" Rachel asked.

"She's my neighbor's cat."

"A cat?" Victoria asked in annoyance, turning to Max. "I came running in here, soaking wet with tomato byproducts still in my hair, because you couldn't tell the difference between a skunk and a cat?"

"Oh, I'm sorry, Vicki." Chloe hissed, defending Max. "Did you want to get sprayed again?"

"What is going on now?!"

The four girls spun around as they saw Joyce on the stairwell, still unamused. Victoria let out a squeak as she slapped her arm over her breast and wedged a hand between her legs, her face just as red as the sauce in her hair.

"Are you girls still playing Truth or Dare?" Joyce asked in annoyance.

"'Truth or Dare'? What are we? A bunch of elementry school-" Victoria began to ask before getting elbowed by Max, the blonde connecting the dots as she chuckled sheepishly. "Yeah! Truth or Dare! I love that game! I just got finished with my dare, which was to... Uh..."

"Take a shower using ketchup as a shampoo, remember?" Rachel piped in. "Then you had to run down to the living room and back naked."

"Yeah that!" Victoria chuckled. "Now, I need to go grab an actual shower with real shampoo and soap."

Joyce stared at the girls for several seconds, the unamused expression never leaving her face. After a few more seconds, the mother sighed and shook her head. "I don't know what you four are up to," she said in annoyance, "but fortunately for you, I'm too tired to care. I have a busy shift in the morning. So please, after Victoria gets cleaned up, either continue your game quietly, or go. To. Sleep."

"Yes, Mom/Ma'am." The four girls said simultaneously as Joyce walked back up the stairs and towards the master bedroom, leaving it slightly open. After a few seconds, the girls made their way up the stairs as well; Max, Rachel, and Chloe going to Chloe's bedroom, while Victoria headed into the bathroom.

And as the girls closed their respective doors, nobody once noticed that the backdoor was left wide open...
