Chapter 20

Is Hailey's car there? Is anyone waiting in ambush? Is there another shocking discovery?

Dressed again

Sure enough Hailey's car was still there, causing the woman to sigh in relief as she stepped out of Caleb's pick-up truck. Testing the door, she was twice as relieved to see that not only was her car unlocked, but her phone and all her clothes were still there as well. As she reached for the clothes, she stopped for a few seconds, a mischievous smile coming to her face.

She could feel Caleb's eyes on her, so why not have a little fun?

"Ba da dun, dun dun dun." Hailey sang, doing a little dance in place as she swayed her hips back and forth. "Ba da dun dun, dun dun tish tish."

Looking over her shoulder, Hailey gave a wink to Caleb as she reached down and slowly lifted the hoodie up. "Ba da da dun, ba da da dun, ba da dun tish."

With one mighty tug, Hailey yanked the hoodie over her head and off her body, exposing her heart shaped ass to Caleb. She looked over her shoulder again and blew him a kiss before giving her right butt cheek a spank, giggling like crazy as she saw his red face. Turning around, Hailey exposed her front half to Caleb as she lifted the hoodie up in the air over her head, waving it around like a flag.

"Ba da da dun dun tish, ba da da dun dun tish." She sang, continuing to sway her hips in rhythm before turning around again and gently rubbing her butt against the hoddie's fabric. "Ba dun da da dun," she threw the hoodie at Caleb's face as the young man fumbled to grab it, "Whoo!"

"Ugh! That was so hot!" Caleb moaned lustfully as Hailey laughed.

Soon after, Hailey began to actually get dressed as Caleb watched on while simultaneously keeping an eye out for any passersby. Once she was dressed again, the woman walked up to the young man and kissed him passionately.

"I'll see you tonight, Baby." Hailey said as she gently caressed his cheek, "This afternoon, if I can."

With another kiss goodbye, Hailey and Caleb went their separate ways for the day...

"What do you mean you won't print my story?!" Hailey snapped as she stood in her bosses office. "Do you have any idea what I had to go through to get this information?!"

"Yes, I'm sure you went through an awful lot, Hailey." Hailey's boss, Karen Danvers, said nonchalantly with a hand wave. "But I can't print stories that are based on wild hunches. This isn't The National Inquirer, you know."

"It's not based on a wild hunch!" Hailey snapped, "Amanda Gal is selling defective merchandise on the black market!"

"I thought your story said that it was her most trusted employee doing it behind her back. Besides, doesn't she publicly state that she wants nothing to do with that 'dishonest and wrong' business?"

"Well, considering Ms. Gal is one of the most wealthiest investors and inventors in this state, she obviously can afford a scapegoat to lie about it!" Hailey argued. "Something fishy is going on in that factory, and if you publish my story, we can -"

"I am not going to publish a bunch of conspiracy theories, Hailey!" Karen snapped, slamming her fist on the table. "Now I suggest that you go write a real story for this paper!"

"But this is a - "

"Or perhaps you want to go back to the cartoonist department?" Karen challenged, "I'm sure there some of our readers who are desperately waiting for a new 'Doomy Roomies' as opposed to the stale reprints."

Hailey growled in annoyance before sighing in defeat. "Fine." She said, "And for the record, do you know how long it takes to come up with jokes for that strip that don't just rely on vampire, werewolf, or ghost puns and still make them funny?"

"No and I don't care." Karen said in annoyance. "Now, Katherine tells me that you wanted to take your vacation now? I'd advise it. You should be able to come up with an actual story by the time you get back. Goodbye."

Hailey muttered angrily as she grabbed her report and stormed out of the office, slamming the door behind her.

Once the the journalist was gone, Karen pulled her cell phone out of her desk drawer and dialed a number, putting the phone to her ear as she waited for the other end to pick up.

"You're getting sloppy." Karen finally said as she got an answer, leaning back in her swivel chair. "I just had one of my journalists come in. Apparently they saw you last night, and now she has a front page worthy story about you selling those dolls on the black market. Of course I didn't publish it! Do you honestly think I'd be stupid enough to throw away my meal ticket? The reporter who saw you? Hailey Roberts. She's a tenacious one, but she - Huh? Yeah, that's right, Hailey. Um, blue. She's a brunette. Caucasian. 'What size are her -'? How am I supposed to know that?! What am I? Her tailor?!"

As Karen listened in to the voice on the other end, a smirk etched it's way onto her face. "Oh, so that's how she pulled it off. Tell me, who's the lucky guy who made the purchase last night?"

Her smirk turned into an annoyed frown as she said, "No, not now! We wait until they least expect it."

Hailey slid into her car and slammed the door shut, slamming her fist on the dashboard in anger and disbelief. She went through at that spying and life threatening work to bring in that story. And for what?! So that her boss could just write it off as the rambling conspiracy theories of a mad woman?! All her hard work... And it was all for completely nothing!

"Well," Hailey said to herself with a small smile, "Not completely nothing..."

Without another word, Hailey pulled out of the parking lot of her workplace before taking off, not stopping until she got to the home of the best thing that had ever happened to her.
