How's Loraine's journey home?
The long haul
Loraine braced for the journey to the homeless shelter. To get back, she’ll have to get pass the church, then the community centre and finally the shopping mall. Not to mention several houses in between. But first the house of God.
As she walked through the suburbs, two housewives looked at her and spoke, “poor thing, what happened to you? You need help?”
“Don’t mind her, Brenda, “ spoke the thin one, “I think she’s one of those Duponts who live here now. You know, the family who committed that massive fraud scandal.”
“Oh, in that case, I hope we’ll have our harshest winter yet.” The spoke coldly.
Loraine turned to the women, “you know it was only my dad who committed fraud, right?”
“I’m sure you knew about it, profiting from your daddy’s gifts.”
“Ugh, whatever!” As she stormed off.
Now she had to walk pass the church.
