She trusts him

"Very well. But first tell me your name", Vanessa demanded

"My name is Agent Blue."

"Agent Blue?"

"Yes, my friend. Now come with me before someone sees us talking here."

"But what about..."

"No questions. Just come with me, please!" Agent Blue shouted angrily.

Vanessa sighed. It seemed that she did not have much choice, even though she sensed that something was wrong about this situation. She opened the door and let Agent Blue enter.

"Follow me, please," he said in a low voice.

"OK, I'll just get dressed", Vanessa said.

"You look dressed to me", Blue said as he glanced at Vanessa's bathrobe, "besides, there's not a second to lose. The enemy knows you live here."

"Are you sure we shouldn't talk to the police?"

"The police will never believe me. They don't understand the situation. There are spies everywhere. We can't trust anyone anymore. Come with me and everything will be fine."

"Fine", Vanessa replied.

They left the apartment building and walked to a small van parked across the street. Agent Blue unlocked the doors and pulled open the back passenger door. He motioned for Vanessa to sit in the middle seat. Agent Blue then climbed into the driver's seat and pulled away from the curb.

Vanessa stared at him nervously. "Now tell me exactly what's happening", she demanded.

"First things first. Your life is in grave danger. The enemies are waiting for you outside to kill you. If you try to run, they'll catch you easily."

"How do you know all this?"

"I have many friends in high places", he explained. "Let's leave it at that."

Vanessa calmed down a bit. "So why am I being killed?"

"Because you're one of the few chosen ones who can bring peace to our king. That's exactly what the enemy doesn't want to happen."

"Why me? What makes me so special?"

"There are many reasons, but the main one is your... body structure. I'll explain more as we get to the planet."

"Planet?"

"Yes, the planet. You've been selected to be transported to another world. This is a secret mission, so I'm sorry that I can't tell you anything about it before we arrive."

"And where is this other world?"

"It is far away from Earth. There, you will meet with the king himself. He has been waiting for you all this time."

"Waiting for me?"

"Yes. You are the only one who can save him."

Vanessa was speechless. How could she possibly help the king? She was just an ordinary girl. She had no special powers or skills. And how could she go to another world? She didn't even know which exit door to use at the bus terminal!

"What if I refuse?" Vanessa asked after a while.

"You may choose not to. But I recommend against that. As I said, the enemy is waiting for you. They will stop at nothing to eliminate the chosen ones. Their ultimate goal is to destroy the king."

"Destroy him?" Vanessa asked, surprised.

"Yes, and the entire human race."

"How can they do that?"

"They have a weapon called the **** Ray. That is the main reason why the king needs your help. Without you, he will die."

"But... what am I supposed to do?"

Agent Blue smiled. "That's the beauty of it. You don't need to think too hard about what you should do. All you have to do is obey orders."

Vanessa was confused. "But I thought you were going to explain everything."

"All in due time. Now we have to get to my ship before the enemy spots us."

"Ship?"

"Yes. My spaceship. It's parked on the outskirts of town. It's equipped with advanced weapons and defense systems, and it'll protect you from any attacks."

"Protect me?"

"Yes, of course."

"How do I know that you're telling the truth?"

"You don't. But the fact remains that you'll only find out once you get there. I suggest you make a decision quickly."
