Meeting the Morrigan

You find yourself at the middle of a misty forest, a cold breeze blowing from behind you. You turn around and see the Morrigan herself. A woman dressed all in black with crows flying all around her, she stands in front of you, staring at you. A crow flies onto her hand, after which she breaks the silence.

Morrigan: We meet at last. We have foreseen your arrival today, Lily. Welcome to our realm, we are the Morrigan, goddess of fate, war, victory and doom.

Her voice echoes through the forest, as if she wasn't anywhere near you. At first she creeps you out, but you take a deep breath and answer her. You don't get to talk to a deity every day!

Lily: H-hello...! M-my name is Lily...! But you already know that...! You are a goddess after all...! Dercia sent me here but... I assume you know that too...!

Morrigan: Dercia is our hand in your world. Through her eyes we have noticed you and decided, you shall be our champion.

Lily: Champion...?

Morrigan: It has been a long time since we have offered our support for a mortal... Yet, you might just be worthy of our power.

Lily: What am I supposed to do...?

Morrigan: Use our sword, we will watch over you in your battles. Rise to greatness and gain the title of queen of your realm. The world of the mortals is experiencing one of the darkest times since its creation, you will be a beacon of light, by installing order back to your kingdom. The other deities are also troubled by the chaos the mortals are causing. The balance is shifting and we cannot stop the tide without a champion. There will be terrible blows to your world... Hundreds years of wars... Famines... Plagues... Unless you unite at least 5 relics, the tide cannot be stopped and eventually, the world of the mortals will be doomed.

Lily: Forgive me, but... I think I don't quite understand...!

Morrigan: Nor need you. Follow our instructions, become a queen. We will guide your path. This is your destiny and destiny cannot be evaded. Your fate has been foreseen, you must fulfill it.

She lifts her arm and the crow flies away. With that, your meeting is over and you suddenly wake up in the temple, next to Dercia.

Dercia: Did you meet the goddess?

Lily: Yes...

Dercia: How did it go?

Lily: I have absolutely no idea...! She told me to use her sword and become a queen to unite the 5 relics or something bad will happen...! That's all I understood from her words!

Dercia: So you were truly chosen by her! Very well, in that case, we have no time to waste! Follow me, we are leaving for the capital to tell this directly to the king!

She pulls you up to your feet and shows the path out of the dungeon. On the way you ask her:

Lily: Are there only those relics we use as Royal Regalia?

Dercia: No, of course not! There are several other relics given to us by the gods.

Lily: What are the ones that you know of?

Dercia: Not too many I'm afraid... The Earrings of Ishtar, goddess of love. The Amulet of Amaterasu, goddess of the sun. The Shield of Shiva, god of destruction and creation. The Cloak of Kukulkan, god of the wind. The Necklace of Nuwa, the serpent goddess. Those are the ones I have heard of so far, but there could be others out there too! They are scattered across the world, it would be near impossible to locate them within one lifetime.

Lily: Is there a magical power they provide for their wielders too?

Dercia: All hold some special powers according to the legends, but I have never seen any of them in action myself. They only work if their respective deities favour the wielder, which is very rare. If you take the 5 Royal Regalia for instance, no king of our kingdom could ever use either of the regalia.

Lily: What do you think, what should I expect from the sword now that the goddess has chosen me?

Dercia: Serve her faithfully! She will watch over you in battle as long as you please her and you will suffer no defeats!

Lily: Sounds great, now all I have to do is convince {if Charles = true}King Charles{endif}{if Henri = true}King Henri{endif} to allow me to take the throne instead of him... What could go wrong...?!

Dercia: The road ahead of you is still very dangerous, but in time, the prophecy of the Morrigan will be fulfilled by you, I'm certain of it!

Lily: By the way, when I got down here, the woman I was coming with has also fallen into the dungeon, only on the other side of the rubble. We must find her!

Dercia: Don't worry about her, if she found her way down there, she will find her way out, just as you have found your way to me.

Lily: If you say so... But I need her alive!

Dercia: If she wasn't crushed by the rocks, she will get out of there.
