Valiant Defeat

I was a guard for the city of Rivania, most of my days consisted of breaking up drunken brawls and aiding my burroughs rat catcher, life was simple but pleasant enough. I even had a woman, a yellow haired girl with blue eyes and fair skin, her name was Lara.

Then the soldiers went to war, trying to fight the Dark Elven army. The Dark Elves had enslaved the Orcs and allied with the Amazonians and Demons. Now they threatened all of the 7 realms.

At first the war looked like it would end quickly with the Armies of Dwarves, Elves, and Humans all mobilizing to fight back against the horde. Only for the Elves and Dwarves to not arrive. The Dwarven king had been seduced by a Demon of greed. The king had ordered his men to stay and guard his new piles of gold and gems and jewels. The Elves had been convinced to stay in their forest, rumor has it that the wood and high elves had even begun to even work as **** traders to the dark elves and amazons capturing poor travelers who went through the enchanted forest.

So the armies of men stood alone.

They were crushed.

Now the Orc armies led by Amazons and Dark Elves was at the gates of Rivania.

The guard captain had fled in the night, hopefully he had been gutted by the orcs, leaving no one to rally the city guard. So I reluctantly stood. I led the guard to hold the line at the city gate so a contingent of knights could help the royal family escape. I made them take Lara with them along with a few other families of the guard.

So we stood knowing we would die.

Then the most miraculous thing happened. I didn't die.

The Orc armies bashed against our shields, guards all around me fell repelling them, but every time we did repel them, and I did not die.

For three days we fought and I did not die.

Eventually it was only me left standing. Wounded men were treated by the medicas and I ordered them to leave I would hold to give as many as I could time to escape.

I stood for a day on my own, eventually the orcs grew to fear my spear, sword, shield, and bow. Then came the elf.

She had ashen skin and red eyes, her body was unlike most womens, fit and tight and full figured. She wore little armor and wielded a large sword. The sword pulsed with energy.

She had come to challenge me.

I accepted.
