GENERAL WORLD INFORMATION

This world is set at the beginning of the DC Universe. Superheroes are not yet publically known. Batman has just started his career, but hasn't yet caught the attention of the public or the majority of the police. Clark Kent has just started at the Daily Planet, but hasn't revealed himself as Superman.

Samantha has little knowledge of the DC Universe, because she isn't a comic book fan. Her knowledge consists of the Adam West movie and the basics of Superman's background from kid's television. So she has heard of Batman, Alfred, Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, Riddler, Commissioner Gordon, Batgirl, Superman, Lex Luthor, Perry White, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Wonder Woman and that is about it.

Her only major inside knowledge is the secret identity of Batman and Superman.

ABOUT SELINA KYLE

“Selina Kyle” is the new name given to Samantha by the Penguin at the beginning of chapter 1. Why Selina wanted to make this change, and any information about her background, Samantha will never find out. Her only connection to “Selina’s” past is Hiro, who has only known her for a few weeks when she moved to Gotham. I do not want Selina’s past to impact Samantha, instead I want her new body to be as much as a blank slate as possible.

Besides the physical differences that come with Selina’s body there are also new skills it brings. Samantha is now a skilled thief, acrobat and combatant, who is an expert in flexible and claw weapons. There is also a growing tension in Samantha’s personality. Her new body brings a nature that is outgoing, thrill seeking, proud and more sexual. How much these two personalities become one, or one consumes the other, is a secondary theme I am exploring in this story. Will it always be Samantha in Selina’s body? Or at some time will it be just Selina?
