Chapter 9 by MonoPumba MonoPumba

You have bills to pay...

...time to go to work.

I arrived to work earlier than I expected. I was busy thinking about Jade and Caroline, hoping that things wouldn't go wrong between them: I've met the latter only a few times, and I know she have her own temper.

I was so distracted that by the time I finished to set up the camera, my first client of the day was arriving. She was of medium size, wearing a studded black leather jacket, a black pants with chain, black thick boots and has a short haircut except for a longer strip in the middle.

"Yo" she said, "the name's Emilia, I'm here for the shooting."

"Ms Snies, right ? Of course, please follow me."

Once in the shooting room, I asked her "So Ms Snies-"

"Call me Emilia please, Ms Snies is too formal."

"As you wish. So Emilia, what do you need exactly ?"

"You see, I'm the leader of a band and we gave an interview for an illustrated magazine. We have pictures of us performing and we need a picture of me sitting and talking, you know, as if I was doing the interview. Only problem is... I kinda sucks at it."

"Don't worry, I've already done this before. Please have a sit, I'd like to see what we're working on."

Emilia took her seat and I quicly understood what she meant: she was tense as a wooden plank, looking awkwardly at the camera and mumbling random words.

"Okay, now I see what you mean." I admited.

"See ? I'm terrible at this..."

"You're too self-conscious. Let's talk a little shall we ?" I said, installing myself in front of her. "Your band is into punk music, isn't it ?"

"You're a smart one, heh ? But yeah, we're the Box Breakers."

"Box Breakers ?"

"Yeah, because society lock us in small boxes: women do not get justice when they're sexually agressed, men almost never obtain paternity rights in divorces even when the mother is dangerous for the child, to only name a few."

"Wow. I've never thought I'd hear a woman protect men."

"Men, women, we're all together against society, formating everything. Like punk music: at the very beginning, it was a sign of rebellion." she sadly said "And now what ? It's just another musical style, like any other one. Sometimes, I'd like to be different, to dissociate myself from society..."

I thought to myself "Do I tell her about the stone ?"

Decisions, decisions...
