Chapter 13 by crisdemos crisdemos

How are things progressing?

Kazumi Ishida, the gargoyle girl.

There are many divergent universes. Almost always, where there is an Emily Lockard, she is the best friend of Kazumi Ishida. Also in most of these universes, fate will make them both end up as a couple, one way or another.

In one in particular, this was a universal law unto itself, with Kazumi Ishida's very existence written into an irrevocable reality. This was established by a certain entity whose base existence was once known as Emily Lockard. Now it was so much more.

Despite her many essential changes, and even as she became the reality itself, there was only one thing that was beyond her control. She and Kazumi loved each other. All she could do about it was **** reality to accept Kazumi's existence as something universal. Kazumi existed because she existed, because Juno ternion, reality itself, wanted it that way.

Even with the many projects they were working on, having all the time in the world at their disposal meant they could do whatever they wanted with it. Kazumi in particular wanted to experiment with other divergent realities, even if her and her girlfriend's powers was greatly reduced by leaving his original timeline. In these new realities, Juno Ternion did not exist, since all the coincidences and actions that had led Emily to become Juno Ternion had not happened.

Having completed their influence on the events that would culminate in Ela's true birth, both goddesses turned their attention elsewhere. Namely, a certain Kazumi Ishida.

"I suppose you want to take care of it yourself, right?"

"You can still have a say in the matter, Emi."

"I can do more than opine, my love. Remember that I still have veto power over you, my precious Zumi."

"Oh come on! We both know you love my ideas too much to veto them, Junnie."

That was true. Most of Kazumi's ideas were extremely interesting to Juno, not to mention that damn pout that she knew how to use perfectly.

"Why a gargoyle girl, anyway?"

"Why not?" Kazumi replied.

That also was true. They could do whatever they wanted, more or less. They were not the queens of this reality, so their power was very limited, but they could influence some events a little. They had to be careful though, because the universe itself would try to destroy them both as a consequence if they tried to make too drastic a change.

"Okay. I can understand the geistknight armor part, but why an animorph gargoyle?"

"For one thing, it will make their merged blood much more suitable for that armor when the three of them come together as one entity. For another, they'll all have a cute pet animorph that will love them."

Well, Kazumi certainly had her head. This particular Gargoyle had been a failed Hideki Labs experiment, one of their first experiments trying to mix human and animal DNA. They ended up creating a humanoid gargoyle that turned human at will, at least physically. When it came to her intelligence, she still had a lot to learn.

The chosen geistknight armor was also a gargoyle, which made sense considering the lore. Gargoyles were supposed to be stone statues that came to life when they needed to protect their place. That only a metallic shell and a small gem had survived over the years certainly came as no surprise.

Kazumi was in the right place just now, having an interview with Emilia King. In this particular universe she was even more evil than in others. She had stolen Yabusa Robotics's Phase binder and immediately turned it into Hala's vessel. Juno suspected that Emilia's early attainment of the djin empress had been an attempt by the universe itself to eliminate her, or perhaps Hala herself had made the attempt. Either way, Emilia hadn't bothered to listen to her or Safiya, and her only wish had been for the stolen device to become the dgin's empress's new vessel.

Kazumi was being led to the room where the device was stored. Two more surprises awaited there, the geistknight armor and the gargoyle girl, the latter chained to the wall. Fear had kept the poor animorph in her monstrous form, unable to calm down enough to assume her human form.

"Hey, isn't that the famous ghost machine? Why the hell is it connected to the phase binder?"

"From what I can read of this universe, Emilia wished for both devices to become one, and Hala was **** to comply."

"Oh shit. We don't know how that will affect our plans, Junie. Should we try to stop everything?"

"We couldn't even if we tried. It's something that will happen one way or another. We've changed too much to stop it now, reality won't let us... Oh fuck! How I did not realize before?"

"What's now?"

"Apparently that stupid woman wished for two more phase binders in the hope of having three of them. Luckily she wasn't specific enough and Hala was able to interpret part of the wish. The good news is that Emilia doesn't have them. The bad news is that one of them is going to be activated right now at that military base, with Kelly volunteering. They're trying to phasebond her with those alien ships…"

"Where's the last one?" Kazumi asked almost terrified.

"About to be used to phasebond Tina and Lina. That asshole Reginald hopes that will make them take the next evolutionary leap and advance the Quicksilver project."

"oh god...how did it all go so wrong, Emi?"

"Wait, I haven't told you the best part yet, my love. Emily, Zoe and Chloe are about to enter there right now. It will happen just as the three phase binders activate."

Kazumi didn't reply. How could she? Everything had gone so damn wrong... All because of that stupid Emilia King! Well, okay, She herself and Juno had played at being goddesses in a reality that didn't belong to them, but...

"Ela is with them, by the way. She has sent her body into that strange dimension of herself and only keeps her consciousness connected to those three through the elastomer that all three share with her..."

Juno stopped speaking at that moment. The reason for that soon became apparent, because a few seconds later, the phase binder was activated.

Author's Note: While I have my own ideas of what will happen, this is a good point for people to decide on the consequences of this possible cataclysmic disaster. I also take this opportunity to congratulate the original creator of Juno Ternion, Yearend. I highly recommend all of you to read his branch, it's amazing!

While I do not have his express permission to use this character, I assume there will be no problem as I am giving credit where it belongs. If you're reading this and you really have a problem with my use of your character, let me know and I'll remove it. It's just an incredibly useful resource for forcing what I want here.

Greetings to all!

The afthermats...
