Discovery

After breakfast you and the girls clean up quickly. You have them wear their leather armor for a couple reasons. Firstly they need to know what it feels like to wear it in extended periods of time, and secondly you are a bit worried that if you do find what you're looking for that there could be traps or even something alive that could hurt you. Their reactions ranged from eye rolling to excitement to wear the armor.

It was finally time to start looking so you had Bruce stay behind to guard the camp. You told Copper to go out hunting for deer or small dinos to bring back to the camp, and Lysandra was coming with you in case there was any danger you found while looking.

"What do you think the "X" on the map is" Annabel asked as she bent over to pick some seeds.

"I really don't know, but I'm hoping it is a bunker of some sort with supplies that we can use. Maybe even some technology from before laying around we can hopefully salvage" you muse. "Even if it is empty we can possibly use it for storage or shelter" you add.

"Well I for one hope there are some bathtubs" Rene chimes in smiling, causing the rest of the girls to laugh.

"We are all a little bit ripe it seems. I've notice it kind of limit our sex lives a bit so I'm all for finding something we can use for bathing" Annabel chuckles.

"Speaking of sex I was kind of hoping you could find some plants for some of those special potions you're good at making" you smirk at Annabel. Annabel smiles in return.

"Who says I haven't already found them" she says giving you a wink.

"Ok well I've decided the new priority is to find or make some bathtubs" you announce loudly causing all the girls to once again laugh.

Everyone continued searching in a good mood for a while, but after hours of walking along the top of the bluff and in front of the bluff without finding anything you could tell everyone was starting to get a bit bored. You were getting both bored and frustrated as you had really hoped you'd have at least spotted something to prove anything was here. Looking down you saw a large piece of flint stone and you bent down to pick it up. Initially you were excited in that it could be used to create a spark for starting fires, but then you realized you obviously had magical flames you could shoot from your fingers for that. Chuckling at how your old world behavior had carried over to this world you threw the stone into a bush on the face of the bluff.

*CLANG*

You perked up and looked from one girl to the next as their surprised faces showed they heard it too. Everyone rushed to the bush and you all quickly cleared it away from the face of the bluff. There before you were two metal doors that looked like old cellar doors you'd seen before. However you saw no obvious handle or way to open them, and based on the design figuring out a way to brute force your way into it was going to be problematic.

"Well I'd say we found what we're looking for. Could be the main entrance or maybe a secondary entrance of some sort" you say examining the doors.

"How do we open it" Rene asks the obvious question. You knock three times on the doors and the group waits for a moment for something to happen.

"Was worth a shot" Annabel says eventually shrugging her shoulders.

"Well...shit" you say a little discouraged. "It is possible these are only able to be opened from the inside if this is an emergency way out or something" you add.

"Still though, even if that is the case it means there is something here for sure" Yvette says smiling.

"That's true. If this is an exit then possibly on the other side of the bluff somewhere is the entrance" you say rubbing some dirt and debris off of the right side of the door to look for any markings. As you swipe along the edge a blue display flashes into existence. You're a little taken aback by the level of technology displayed. There is no obvious screen, and it appears to be the metal itself displaying the image. The image is a three by three series of boxes like you'd expect with a game of tic tac toe. Pressing one of the boxes a blue circle appears in the center of the box. Pressing the same square again makes the blue circle disappear.

"Well it may not seem like it, but we're making some progress" you say to everyone. Jane presses the first box causing the circle to appear again, and then starts pressing them in order. A blue circle appears in each up to the point of five circles being displayed. When the fifth circle appears the five circles blink red a few times and then disappear off the screen again.

"Well that didn't work" Jane pouts.

"But we know more about it at least. Since five circles displayed I'd say it is safe to assume that it is a code of some sort, and we just need to figure out which boxes need to be pressed. Obviously we don't know the code, but we're still closer then where we were" you say rubbing Jane's shoulder.

For the next half an hour or so you each try taking turns at guessing what the code might be. Nothing seems to work however, and you can feel the frustration of being so close but so far starting to build in the group. sitting down to watch you pull out the letter and map Remi gave you to see if there was any clues he may have given you. Looking through the letter you don't notice any pattern or obvious clues. Annabel sits next to you so you hand the letter to her to see if her eyes notice anything. Looking at the map doesn't seem helpful either, in fact you can't even see the destination X on the map anymore due to your spell on it.

You figure since you've found the location and your current position isn't necessary anymore that removing the spell might help. You focus on pressing each tendril of the spell back into the spell and soon the spell dissipates from the map allowing you to view the map as originally given to you. Initially that didn't prove to be helpful either until you looked really close at the X on the map. It wasn't a letter X drawn on the map. It was actually five tiny dots in the shape of an X.

"Oh shit" you exclaim holding the map closer to your face to confirm it. You look up at the rest of the group looking expectantly at you.

"Yvette, take a look at the X on the map and tell me what you see" you tell her as you hand her the map. It takes her a moment, but you see her eyes widen when she sees what you saw.

"It's little dots" she says smiling.

"Try making an X on the screen" you tell Annabel as she's the one currently trying her luck. "Top left, top right, middle, bottom left, and bottom right" you explain. Annabel clears the screen from her current attempt and then presses the corresponding boxes on it to form an X. The moment she does the circles flash green, and you can hear a series of clanks and clicks from inside the doors. You all take a step back, and right after the doors start to open on their own until you are all looking down some stairs leading down into darkness.

"Woooo" Jane cheers after a moment of silence startling you all. "Sorry, I was just a little excited" she says shyly. You stand up and give Jane a hug.

"You were just expressing the excitement we're all feeling I think" you say giving her a squeeze.

"So...do we continue onward" you ask the group.
