Of Course

Shay sat and stared at the locket opening and closing it over and over staring at the lovely gift her owner gave her. She felt like she’s had it for so long but master John had just gave it to her. She was like a child getting the candy they wanted. She looked at John’s chest again and spoke her thanks. “Master thank you so very much for this lovely gift. I’ll keep it near and dear to me always. Master is so generous.” She then held the locket into her chest clutching it with all her might.

The ring’s lasting effect due to the drastic changes John did left a ripple. Unbeknownst to John he would need only to do so much in order to overwrite and further corrupt Shay’s memories and mind. She was like play dough in his hands.

Shay kept clutching onto the locket. John smiled as he just watched everything playing out. To Shay she had never received such a lovely gift before. John only had just gotten to meet his property again and he already gave her something so nice and thoughtful. She was friends with Culver for so long yet never received anything like that from him. Shay began to rethink what true friendship was. She always thought Culver was the standard for a friend as he seemed to always be there and he…Shay’s mind started to go cloudy. Her mind rolled over Culver being there was that right?

Shay had to place a hand on her head as she was getting light headed. Staring at the locket she thought about it she has had it for a long time she remembered having it for years. It helped her get through the difficult times in her life. Her mind kept watching the locket flip open then closed again to John’s photo. John was her owner he gave her the locket. She remembered staring at the locket had gotten her through so many rough times. How could she forget it wasn’t Culver who was there for her it was the thought of her owner and master John.

Shay began to question again why she had thought of Culver as an actual friend. He was more like a tool she could get to help her study. Her parents always told her the only reason she should be friends with him is to get **** for her owner who was bullied by him. Why would Culver bully her owner and pillar of protection John? The original Shay personality tried to fight these thoughts but they sunk in and soon both Shays were thinking the same thing. Shay stayed conflicted but now had no reliance on Culver.

Shay was unsure of herself as she referred back to her memories now. Was Culver truly a friend, or was he an enemy and a tool? She couldn’t make up her mind though she leaned on the later of the two.

John reached out a hand to help up the still worn out Shay. Shay was so happy John was her owner he always gave her a helping hand. After being helped up John ushered Shay towards the stairs.
