Test it themselves

Gregg thought about what Tess was saying. "I guess you're right. I'd hate to track down a friendly mage just for them to tell us that it's a non-magical ring or something." He sighed.

"Put it on!" Tess grinned, getting excited.

Gregg nodded, slipping the ring on his finger. "Okay. Where should I try to go? Home?"

"I'm not at your house. Just teleport to the back room of the shop or something. We just need to know IF it works. Then we can figure out distance and stuff later." Tess explained.

"Okay. Well. Here goes nothing." With the ring on his finger, Gregg closed his eyes and focused. After maybe a minute of concentration, Gregg was gone!

"Nice! It does work!" Tess cheered, before her eyes went wide at the sight on front of her.

Gregg was gone. But his clothes were in a pile where he was just standing.

"Uh-oh..." Tess mumbled as she looked at the pile of clothes. His boots and undergarb were in this pile too!

Wherever Gregg ended up, he was totally naked there!
