Many candidates were considered, each having their pros and cons.

Hyuuga Neji: This one was clearly out. Despite having the powerful Byakugan, any child of his would, effectively, be born a ****, and while main branch Hyuuga didn't share this problem, none were nearly as talented as Neji himself.

Mizuki: Naruko did, after all, write about this particular chunin sensei on her diary. But should the council deliver the yondaime's own precious daughter to be soiled and corrupted by a mere chunin, a man known to be cruel, and who would use her as little better than a **** or breeding stock? Well, maybe.

Uchiha Sasuke: An interesting option. Handsome and well-liked by females everywhere, there was little doubt, in the minds of the councilors, that he could tame the stubborn blonde if he so wished. But while many in the village were just about drooling at the prospect of an Uchiha with Uzumaki genes, others... Well, they were more skeptical or even downright concerned. After all, Uchiha Sasuke was a known traitor, forgiven or not, and spent very little of his time in Konoha proper.

Uchiha Itachi: Sasuke wasn't, however, the only Uchiha in the village. Itachi, his elder brother and clan head, was arguably more powerful and equally irresistible to women, with his stoic demeanor and brooding good looks. Although, the same question remained pertinent, about delivering too much power in the hands of a clan with dubious loyalties.

Sarutobi Konohamaru: Talented and related to a Kage, but young, perhaps too young for the task at hand. Still, the option was considered, because of the immense sexual virility that the monkey contract is said to give members of the Sarutobi Clan.

Hatake Kakashi: In the end, perhaps the best option. Who could claim, after all, to be of better stock than the Hokage himself? If the Copy Nin would agree, however, to conquer and impregnate his beloved sensei's only daughter was an entirely different matter. It would be risky to even ask.

"We could always send her to the Daimyo's court." It was also suggested. "The royal family has requested a new kunoichi to serve as... Entertainment. Any offspring would certainly be of political use to the village."
