Not Well For Misty

The ball hits the cave floor and, in a flash of light, Misty's Starmie emerges, the light from your Gloom's Flash technique reflecting off of the gem at the centre of the starfish pokémon's body, causing the crimson jewel to glow just like on the one you'd faced back in Cerulean.

You're no pokémon expert who can tell individuals of each species of pokémon apart at just a glance, so you might be wrong, but considering that this Starmie should theoretically be significantly higher levelled than the one that had been knocked out by two Thunder Punches from your Mankey, you'd expect some kind of minor change in its appearance. As Misty calls for a Water Pulse and Blue quickly ensures his Tauros dodges out of the way, you get out your Pokédex and do a scan of Misty's pokémon, assuming you're just remembering wrong. However, as the screen flickers into life and you are given a readout of Starmie's level and other statistics, your heart sinks. It is the same pokémon, and Blue has one more badge than you had when you faced Misty, presumably meaning his pokémon are a good deal higher in level than yours had been back then.

You go to scan Tauros to find out how much stronger it is than Starmie, but the answer is provided to you before you get the chance. "Tauros, Wild Charge!" orders Blue, and the bull pokémon surges forward, generating electricity from the kinetic energy as it runs. In just one move, albeit a super-effective one, Starmie falls, Misty screaming in anguish as Tauros rams into the water-type with all its ****, knocking it to the floor unmoving.

"NO!" Misty screams, reacting to adversity with her usual serene grace. She continues yelling, stomping her feet on the hard cave floor. "NO NO NO!"

Blue's cocky grin, which had been quite clearly **** at the start of the battle, spreads wider across his face, becoming the genuine article. "Wow... that was... easier than I thought it'd be," he says.

You round on Misty. "What the hell?!" you snap at her as she stops throwing a tantrum long enough to withdraw Starmie into its pokéball. "Why are you using the same Starmie you used against me?! He's got three badges; bring out your hard-hitters!"

The red-faced Gym Leader snaps back at you, as if this is your fault somehow. "I can't! I told you leaving the gym was an impulse decision, didn't I?! I didn't think to grab any pokémon that weren't already on me, and the last challenger I'd faced had two badges, so..." She looks at the floor, seeming to realise that this is actually all her fault, and the gravity of the situation she now faces.

Blue claps his hands with glee, starting to laugh as you stare in disbelief at the stupidity of your companion. "Oh, this is priceless," you rival guffaws, before pointing at Misty. "C'mon then, bitch. Send out your other pokémon so we can get to the good part."

The next minute or so is **** to watch. The fight seemingly gone out of her, Misty listlessly sends in her Poilwag, who gets destroyed by a Stomp from Tauros; Blue doesn't even have to bother with the super-effective Wild Charge. Her last pokémon, Goldeen, is even more useless with no water nearby, and very shortly the battle is over. Blue fist-pumps the air in celebration as Misty hangs her head in shame.

You rush over to the girl's side. "Misty... why the fuck did you challenge him if you only had pokémon strong enough to handle people with two badges?!" you demand, still trying to wrap your head around how suddenly this situation went from seemingly fine to completely awful.

"I thought I could beat him," mumbles Misty, sounding like a sulky child who has just been told off. "And I... I wanted to impress you..." Her face flushes red yet again, and you're left staring at her incredulously as Blue saunters over.

"Aww, did you hear that, Amber?" he smirks. "Quite a devoted girlfriend you've got there. Shame her sisters got the... ahem... 'battle skills', as well as the tits." He puts a hand on Misty's shoulder in mock sympathy. "Genetics can be a bitch, huh? Ah well, your ass is still nice. Now get those clothes off and get down on all-fours so I can get on with pounding it. I want Amber to watch so she knows what's coming to her soon..."

Misty looks like she wants to cry as she turns to face Blue and meekly starts pulling down her suspenders, before pulling her top over her head to reveal her small boobs, her nipples stiffening in the cold tunnel air. He was planning on challenging you anyway; all this would do is delay Misty's 'forfeit' until after that battle, at which point, win or lose, he could still fuck Misty, and you if the latter result happened. The only way you can think of stopping this is putting some kind of extra stakes on a match against you; offering Blue more power over you than he'd normally get with a win could get him to abandon his claim to Misty if you managed to beat him. But what could you even offer him? What were you comfortable with offering him?
