See What's Going On

Your curiosity wins out and you move in a little closer, wanting to hear what's being said. Fortunately, a small crowd of similarly curious people has now gathered around, meaning you can join them and likely not be noticed by the Cerulean Sisters.

"You can't just leave!" Violet says to Misty insistently as you get close enough to hear. "You're a Gym Leader just like us; you have responsibilities!"

"Responsibilities?!" Misty looks incredulous. "What the fuck would any of you know about responsibilities?! You have never taken your jobs seriously; you're more interested in your stupid sex show!"

Some of the men in the crowd actually start booing Misty for that comment, **** to defend the honour of their favourite weekend activity. Her sisters look similarly irritated. "Listen here you little shit," Daisy hisses. "Our shows make money in one day than you've made in your entire lifetime! You're basically living off of our popularity!"

"Yeah," nods Lily, smirking at her younger sister. "If we didn't hold those shows, who'd pay for all your shit? Vibrators and premium lesbian porn subscriptions aren't cheap, y'know."

The crowd start laughing and Misty flushes bright red, before putting her hands on her hips and stomping her feet in that bratty way that you'd found so annoying before but kind of find endearing now. Besides, you aren't sure you'd be reacting any differently to being mocked so harshly in front of a crowd like this. "Uuuuugh!" she whines. "See, this is why I'm leaving! You're a bunch of assholes! You always just say and do what you want; you never think about anyone's feelings!"

"Oh for fuck's sake," says Violet, rolling her eyes. "Is this about that Amber girl?"

You cringe as your name is brought up, and quickly lower the brim of your hat over your eyes, hoping no-one in the crowd or, God forbid, the Cerulean Sisters, notices you're here.

"Listen, your little girlfriend probably enjoyed being shown on TV like that," Lily says. "We did her a favour."

"Yeah," adds Daisy. "Did you see how into it she was getting fucked on that stage? She's a little exhibitionist slut, just like us, except she's too proud to admit it. She's probably been fingering herself to that TV report ever since it came out. Pathetic..."

You clench your hands into fists as you feel a wave of anger rush over you. You want nothing more than to run over and start beating Daisy to a bloody pulp, but you know that isn't an option. Misty looks similarly furious. "What you did to Amber was cruel, and you know it!" she snaps. "You're cruel to everyone! I have never felt loved or valued by any of you! Yesterday you told me that a challenger with six badges only had two, and made me fight him with a weakened team! You broke Pokémon League regulations just to embarrass me!"

"You embarrass yourself," Daisy sighs. "Besides, it was no big deal, the guy had a tiny cock anyway. He finished inside you in like, what, two minutes? Why do you think we let you fight him and not us?"

"That isn't the point!" Misty protests, her face turning an even deeper shade of red somehow. "You made me look like a loser!"

"Misty," says Violet, almost sounding sympathetic. "You are a loser."

Misty stares at her eldest sister, tears welling up in her eyes as the crowd roars with laughter. "Fuck you." Misty spits out the words venomously. "I'm done putting up with this shit. Goodbye."

She storms off rapidly, pushing through a section of the crowd and heading off in seemingly a random direction.

"Fine, go! See if we care, you little brat!" Daisy calls after her, and she and her sisters turn and walk back into the gym, looking slightly shocked that their younger sibling has actually left.

"She'll come crawling back," you hear Violet mutter. "Don't worry about it."

A big part of you still feels like running over and pounding the Cerulean Sisters into the dirt, but as you look back towards Misty you see she's stomping towards Rock Tunnel, where you were headed anyway. That makes your decision about what to do next significantly easier...
