Chapter 14 by xandam xandam

Where does she find herself?

A Side Street in a Shady Place

The first thing to hit Fennec on the other side of the door was the cool breeze moving across the cold-bumps on her bare skin. The second thing was that she was outside in a dark alley on a damp night, the pavement still wet from the afternoon’s rain. Third, that the door had locked behind her.

She was lost somewhere in Corellia’s largest city with no idea what neighborhood she was in and what situation she’d just wandered into. As Fennec shifted from one cold foot to the other, pondering what to do and where to go, a sound caught her attention. The bumps and clomps of several some ones, or some things, stumbling down the alley toward her.

Reflexively diving for cover around the corner, she found herself standing on a dark, narrow street. On this street, Corellia’s gray, brutalist architecture was lit up by neon and holographic signs promising intoxicants, games, and pleasures of every sort. A dozen species of scantily clad women in towering heels, clustered around the doors to each club along the lane. These "club girls" called and flirted with each passerby, begging them to come in and enjoy.

At second glance she noticed that every woman had the blue, metallic medallion of the Corellian tax authority dangling from a chain or choker around her neck. That told Fennec exactly where she was: Corellia’s infamous Blue Sector.

Many places the galaxy over had ‘red light’ sectors, but the Corellians colored theirs blue. Corellian Security's habit of turning a blind eye to “business” here as long as the taxes got paid was the most widely-known secret in the sector and it made this the seediest neighborhood in the Core Worlds. Blue Sector was crammed with dive bars, backroom casinos, night markets full of questionable goods, and “clubs” where you could purchase someone to fulfill any and every desire.

Long whistles and catcalls made Fennec acutely aware that she was standing on a street corner in a pleasure district wearing less than any prostitute. Then, people began shouting prices. Her mind balked, not sure which was worse - that so many eyes had seen her naked flesh? That they had assumed she was a hooker? Or that the offers were so low?

Her face went instantly hot from the embarrassment. She sprinted away with arms pressed over her bouncing chest, her bush and jiggling ass left bare to the night air. She ran without any consideration to where she was going.

Where does she end up running?
