Chapter 193 by JZ01 JZ01

Round 1. Fight!

Clarva's Combat!

Clarva and the orc giant clash in the middle of the pit, but the sheer size of the orc causes Clarva to physically bounce off of her opponent.

After stopping a few feet back from the collision, Clarva rushes forward again as the orc begins swing her boulder sized right hand.

Clarva quickly ducks under the swinging right hand and gets a few quick kidney shots in before rolling under a backhanded swing.

As Clarva gets back to her feet, ready to get in a few more punches to the orc giant's gut, she is quickly met with a knee which sends her to the floor. Clarva skips twice across the stone floor before eventually coming to a stop. Clarva then rolls onto her stomach whilst letting out a groan.

The orc giant roars again as she moves towards Clarva as the half-giant gets back to her feet.

Clarva gets to her feet and gets into her guard once again. She examines her opponent, trying to find some sort of weak point that she can exploit, but there's no obvious one in sight.

The giant lunges down, trying grab Clarva, but Clarva's speed helps her leap out of the way. She then goes back to targeting the kidney and liver. Thud after thud is heard, but the punches seem to have almost minimal effect on the giant.

Clarva prepares to dodge another backhand swing, and correctly guesses the attack. Unfortunately for the half-giant, her opponent follows her backhanded left with a clubbing right, the latter of which connects and sends Clarva flying.

Clarva crashes onto the ground again, and the impact of the giant's hand against Clarva's skull has opened a cut on the upper left of her forehead that begins to bleed.

Back up at the private viewing box, the group recoil in phantom pain after seeing Clarva getting sent ten feet across the pit with a single for strike.

"She's getting her ass kicked." Amilia comments.

"No, she's not. She got all those punches in. If anything, it's even!" Terra says, trying to defend Clarva.

Amilia than rhetorically asks. "And which one has been put their ass twice now?"

"It's only the beginning of the fight. Both are still getting a feel for their opponent. The giant is simply relying on brute strength, and it's worked for now. Clarva realizes that she can't match them in strength, so being agile is her best bet. She got those shots to the sides in, and those are going to tenderize the longer the fight goes on."

After Kyuala's analysis, Virra asks her. "Do you think she can win?"

Kyuala is silent for a moment before she says, "Yes."

Just then, Clarva shoots back up to her feet and charges forward at the giant once again.

The giant thrusts their boot forward, trying to catch Clarva, but the half-giant skips to the side before jumping onto the giant's leg and begins to run up it.

The orc giant goes to swipe Clarva like a bug crawling on a person, but Clarva is too fast and rocks the giant's jaw with a thunderous right hook before leaping off her opponents body.

The roar of the crowd muffles out the pained grunt of the giant who puts her hand on the impact site as pain shoots through her jaw.

Clarva rushes forward again, but this time, she's trying to provoke the giant into attacking. The plan is immediately successful as the giant goes to strike Clarva with a straight right, and Clarva easily reads the punch before getting behind her.

Clarva then starts part two of the plan: Chopping the trunk of the tree. She rushes forward, almost cannonballing directly into the back of the giant's knee, earning another loud groan as her opponents leg buckles.

Blow after blow to both sides of her head begin rocking giant, shaking her brain like a peanut in a can. Clarva's fists on the one hand, feel like they're trying to punch through one of the strongholds walls.

However Clarva soon loses her advantage as the giant whips her head back, crashing against Clarva's forehead.

The half-giant tumbles back, barely catching herself by planting her hand on the ground as she sees blood beginning to fall from her fresh cut. She also starts to feel blood running down over her nose before entering her mouth. The iron taste of the red liquid practically wakes Clarva back up after the sudden retaliation from her opponent, who is now getting back to her feet, albeit with one leg shaking.

"Little giant's got some fight in her! I like it!" The giant says as she looks at Clarva. "But this is where it ends!"

"Funny. I was about to say the exact same thing." Clarva replies before rushing forward again.

The sounds of flesh clashing together almost sounds like a car crash as Clarva continues her strategy of dodging and counter-striking while the giant just absorbs the hits, obviously amused by the attempt.

The giant finally connects on a left hook after throwing an obvious right back fist, tricking Clarva into dodging. Luckily for Clarva, she managed to get her arms up just in time to absorb a good chunk of the blow, so she was only sent back about two feet, but is still on her feet.

"Fuck. That's a couple o' broken bones at least." Amilia comments.

"For Clarva? Or the giant?" Virra asks.

"Both."

As the fight continues on, Kyuala sneaks a look at the advisor once again. Her face is still wrought with turmoil, and Kyuala can tell that she is practically staring into space even as her eyes are facing the fight below.

Kyuala's attention is grabbed by the sound of a loud crash in the pit. Her gaze quickly flicks down to see Clarva has been thrown against the wall of the pit, and the giant is charging towards her.

"C'mon, Clarva! Kick her oversized behind!" Terra shouts down, surprising the group, but also gently stokes the fires of jealousy within Amilia once again.

Back down in the pit, Clarva rocks the giant's jaw with huge right that actually makes the giant take a step back. The giant quickly comes back with a blow to Clarva's gut, but Clarva is quick to react as she holds onto the giant's arm to stop herself from being sent flying.

The bloodied giant looks at equally bloodied Clarva and is confused as to what the smaller woman's plan is. The giant then decides to get Clarva off her arm, so she begins to throw her arm behind her, preparing to slam Clarva against the ground.

Clarva, once again, is a step ahead as she lets go mid-swing, and dropping down safely.

As the giant's arm crashes against the floor, Clarva leaps back onto her opponent and begins to bounce her fist off the right side of the giant's head.

Each hit sounds like every bone in Clarva's hand and the giant's skull is getting crushed. The giant's right eye is almost completely swollen over as her dark green skin is turning red and purple, and Clarva's rapid punches are only making it worse.

The orc giant eventually grabs Clarva on both sides before sending her skull forward, crashing into Clarva and stunning both of them as Clarva drops to the floor and the giant takes a knee.

The crowd continues to roar with most of them being in favour of their fellow giant, but a quiet few are rooting for the underdog Clarva.

Up in the box, the group are all worried for Clarva after seeing the horrendous head-butt that sounded like someone detonated some TNT inside a tree.

Terra then leans over to the others. "Okay. The fight is obviously coming to an end, so, when should I use my spell?"

"Didn't Clarva say to do it whenever there's an opening?" Virra asks.

"But there ain't been an opening yet." Amilia adds.

Kyuala then chimes in. "Amilia's right. We need a big move that gets the crowd on their feet. Once the cheering starts, that's when the moment you let the spell loose."

Virra asks another question. "What if we don't get that big move?"

"It doesn't necessarily have to be this fight, right?" Lani questions. "Plus, even if we don't use the spell, I think the advisor is close to breaking. If she does, we might get a free ride out of here."

"We can't depend on one singular action." Kyuala says. "I'd rather have multiple pies to work with than have all our fingers in one. Terra, be on the lookout for the right moment."

"Right." Terra responds nervously, hoping she doesn't fuck up as their chances of getting back to John are somewhat solely resting on her shoulders.

The group look down at their friend, and see that Clarva has recovered a little bit and is getting to her feet, but her face is almost completely engulfed by a crimson mask at this point.

Clarva steadies her jelly legs as she plants a hand on the floor, drawing in heavy breaths that feel like her lungs are on fire with every inhale.

A quart of blood is spat onto the floor as Clarva realizes that she can't take many more hits. In fact, Clarva's unsure if she can take another regular hit from her opponent. If her opponent was a regular giant, Clarva is sure she could take a regular hit, but this is no basic giant.

Unfortunately for Clarva, she is going up against an orc giant.

Clarva wracks her brain, trying to think of what she can do to win. Due to the damage she's taken already, Clarva knows her speed advantage had drastically lessened.

Another problem with her opponent being an orc giant, is that while as injured as she is, orcs are still naturally stronger than any other race.

Clarva then brainstorms some ideas on how to deal with her opponent. She looks over and sees that the orc is getting back to her feet. Clarva's mind then begins racing as she doesn't have a lot of time left to think.

An idea finally pops into mind, but Clarva isn't sure it's the best. However, it's the only idea Clarva has, so it's the one she's going with.

The group watch as Clarva rises up. She then looks at the group and they all see the half-giant wink towards them.

As they see that, Terra takes it as a signal to prepare a spell. She then grabs Amilia and pulls her over. "I need you to cover my staff. Stick really close, alright?"

"Don't need to ask me twice." Amilia says as she gets a little closer, but mostly for her own sake.

Terra then begins charging up a spell, quietly muttering the words from a spell that Amilia hears that it's semi-similar to the spell Terra used back in the forest. This time, however? It's on a much larger scale.

The orb on top of the Terra's staff begins glowing brighter than Amilia expected, so she actually gets on Terra's lap. Terra is very surprised, but she's too busy focusing on casting her spell to say anything at the moment.

Back down with Clarva, the half-giant looks back to her opponent to see the giant's legs are still wobbly, especially the leg she attacked earlier.

Luckily for Clarva, that's exactly what she needs for her plan.

Clarva begins to muster every ounce of strength she has, taking deep breaths in and letting them out in a controlled pace. Clarva eyes up the giant, scanning her opponent as she readies herself.

The crowd begins cheering as the behemoths rise to their feet, calling for even more blood than has already spilled.

The spectacle of the rising warriors draws every eye in the house, allowing Terra to silently cast with no visible eyes on her. The sound from the raucous crowd also has a positive effect on Clarva as she is ready to go.

Barely a moment later, Clarva takes one more breath before beginning to run forward.

Her heavy and fatigued feet slam against the ground as she strides towards her opponent. Air rushes past her and into her nose as Clarva begins to suck in as much oxygen as she can whilst spreading her arms and letting out a mighty roar just as her eyes begin to spark red.

The giant sees the incoming meat train that is Clarva, and tries to prepare for the impact... but it's to no avail.

Clarva collides with her opponent, and the clash of flesh is almost deafening. The impact definitely breaks a few of the giant's ribs, but Clarva doesn't stop with there.

As the giant begins reeling from the pain, she starts to feel Clarva's hands digging into her. That pain is then met with surprise as the giant feels herself being lifted up.

The entire arena is enveloped in a hush as they all watch as their fellow giant is being hoisted up by the smaller woman, the underdog, the supposed easiest fight of the night. Clarva however, decided to fuck all that up, and wanted to show just why they should all be afraid of her.

The group are equally in shock, not because they're afraid of Clarva, but because they're incredibly glad she's on their side.

Clarva, finally lifts the giant up enough before beginning the second part of her plan.

Clarva's feet then begin moving forward, picking up speed little by little as she begins roaring once again.

On the other side of the equation, the giant is in too much agony to even try and fight. She feels Clarva's shoulder buried into her gut as the half-giant is running her somewhere, and that's definitely not good.

Clarva is now running at the fastest speed she possibly can with all her injuries, blood loss, and the incredible weight literally on her shoulders.

Clarva also continues to roar, but this roar isn't for intimidation. No, this current roar is being used to psyche Clarva up as she makes her mad dash towards the wall of the pit.

Heavy stomp after heavy stomp is heard as Clarva is just mere feet away from the wall. Her roar reaches its crescendo as Clarva is running the final few steps before she makes contact with the wall.

Seeing that Clarva is mere seconds away, Terra finishes powering up her spell before tapping her staff on the ground.

The magic leaves through the bottom of Terra's staff and enters the ground before it begins to shoot through the ground towards Clarva.

Clarva takes the final step and the back of the giant makes contact with the wall. A thunderous crash can be heard as the giant is rushed into the wall, and a crater-sized hole has been created due to the impact.

Barely a breath later, Terra's spell reaches the impact site and the bolt of magic begins to implode within the wall.

The crowd begin to erupt in a deafening cheer as they see that Clarva is without a doubt the winner of this fight. No matter how they felt at the beginning, Clarva definitely earned some fans during that fight.

The cheers are then combined with jumping, which is the worst thing the giants could be doing right now, as Terra's spell begins to shake the stands behind the impacted wall.

Screams and shouts can be heard as the stone seats behind the damaged wall begin to crack open with a large amount of the stone gets swallowed inside like a whale sucking in water. A few of the giants also fall into the holes as everyone in the pit begins to try and escape.

Terra is happy that her spell worked, but unfortunately for her, it doesn't seem to be stopping.

The cracks begin rapidly growing in size. It completely cuts that seat section in half before growing down towards the pit itself. Clarva is quick to grab the collar of the giant and pull her out of the way before she gets swallowed in.

The crack continues to grow more and more rapidly as it's reached the halfway point of the pit. Clarva decides it's time to get out of dodge, so she heads for the stairs down to the fighters quarters, hoping to make her way back up to the group.

Speaking of the group, all five of them are in awe over Terra's spell, not expecting her to go that far. The one person that thought comes to most prevalently is Terra herself as she hears the screaming of the giants who have been wounded. She almost wants to scream out that she didn't mean it, but it feels like her voice box has been ripped out.

Just then, an arm grabs Terra and uses it to turn Amilia to her right. The arm belongs to Amilia who looks her dead in the eye. "Hey! Look! The advisor bitch left the door open! We gotta go, now!"

The group begin rushing to the door, but Terra still hasn't quite snapped out of her daze as Amilia drags Terra towards the opening.

As the last two are leaving the viewing box, a figure in a hidden above the door watches them as they escape. The figure then chuckles to herself. "Stone magic, huh? They're clever. If there was another giant next to them, they would've been screwed. Still... maybe, just maybe... they're clever enough."

The figure then turns away from their little view point and begins to rush down a dark hall of sorts with the sounds of hooves echoing throughout.

Note to self: Don't piss Terra off.
