Corporate backstabbing at its finest

Elsewhere, in a corporate office a very long ways away...

"What do you mean you won't reverse it!?" Jane's fist pounded on the manager's desk angrily. "She broke into the backend and used it on a staff member!"

The much, much larger arch-succubus, Ymyxahlia, set down her coffee mug delicately and folded her hands beneath her chin. "She found a bug. We fixed it. She gets a reward. That was the deal we had for her, correct?" The mighty demon leaned forward menacingly, peering over her round glasses with a cold stare. "And remove your hand from my desk."

Jane pulled back from the desk hurriedly. Rallying as much as she could, she said, "But I'm part of the sales team! I need to be out there getting more humans hooked onto the app! I can't get bound to some...nerdy girl who got lucky!" Ymyxahlia arched an eyebrow. "Need I remind you that you were supposed to monitor what she was doing with the app? This oversight is entirely on you." She sighed and leaned back, pulling open her oversized laptop and typed a few lines. "She's going to get to keep you. Clearly she has a knack for this and we can't let this opportunity go to waste." She raised a perfectly manicured hand to cut off Jane's objections. "You'll have plenty of time to do your sales thing when not directly in service to her. We'll just let her know that you occasionally have to come here to perform your duties, like when she's sleeping and, let's say, three times a day during your breaks, and you can use that time to do your job. And to prevent things from getting messy, we'll deactivate a few of the more...problematic options for you on the app and raise the gem prices to keep her from making any drastic changes on you."

The arch succubus leaned back and rubbed her temples. "Honestly you're getting off light for this. Humans live about, what, seventy, eighty years? That's nothing for the likes of us. I'll be filling out paperwork for this whole thing much longer than that."

Jane pouted but knew not to push her luck. "Fine. I guess I'll just be getting back to the bitc-" She changed her intended words as she saw Ymyxahlia's eyes narrow. "-beloved customer then." She strode out of the corner office with bad grace, feeling the arch succcubus's smug stare following after her. Damn corporate politics! Ymyxahlia and her brood had been trying to take over this project for years, and was happy to take the excuse to sweep her to the side. The succubi's plan to increase lust energy on Earth was a huge undertaking, and several major players were vying for control of the app.

No doubt the other arch succubi were all plotting around this little screw up already. No one could scheme like a demon, who had eons to lay their plans and strategies. Whoever came out on top with this would have tremendous authority over the precarious hierarchy of lust demons. Jane just had to play her part and wait patiently and hope like hell that Gaige could find something else useful she could use to turn to her advantage.
