Chapter 41 by sir oppenheimer sir oppenheimer

What is Velvet's request?

She sends you off to find a key.

"It's okay, I won't tell anyone." You reassure Velvet. "What do you need help with?"

She quickly glances around, making sure no one else will be able to hear the two of you. "Olivia has something of mine. I need to get it back."

"What do you mean? Why won't she give it back? What is it?" The question spill out of your mouth one after the other.

She shakes her head, then responds. "She's being snotty, said I needed to 'learn some respect' or something along those lines. But I won't put up with that, I have to be her roommate all semester so I have to put my foot down."

"Okay, I get that." You try to move her along, only half understanding the reason. Her reasoning doesn't really matter to you, you're just in it to try and bond with Velvet. "But what is it and why do you need me to get it?"

"It's a small key, like the ones you use to open a padlock. Smaller than our dorm room keys. I don't think she still has it, after all, I could easily search her things when she's out or in the shower. I think she gave it to someone else for safekeeping. I haven't seen her hang out with anyone else other than your roommate so far."

"You want me to search Emily's stuff?" Velvet nods. "All right. I think I can do that. But what does the key open that makes it so important?"

She blushes for a moment before answering. "I have a lock box that it opens. I use it to keep a few things secure but now I can't get into it."

"All right!" You finish, "you can count on me!" Your new friend nods in appreciation. You quickly exchange phone numbers so you can let her know what you find later. You get a few more minutes of small talk before your respective mentors return. The sun is starting to go down already and while you do enjoy viewing the sunset over the park, you all agree you should get back on campus.

The drive is short, but you and Emily make a bit of small talk nonetheless. You are bringing Naomi back this time, so it's a little awkward with her sitting behind you. That also means you can't outright ask Emily if she agreed to hold on to any strange keys from Olivia. Based on your short time with Emily, you don't think she would agree to that if she knew it was hurting someone else. All the same, you can't tell her, lest it gets back to Olivia.

Once you are safely back in your dorm room, you start your scheming. You don't think your roommate will be leaving again tonight, but since classes are starting tomorrow, you should get the chance to thoroughly search the room when she's in a lecture. You don't know her schedule so you'll have to feel it out. She's also been carrying her purse with her at all times. The only way you'll get to search that is when she's in the bathroom, as long as she doesn't take it with her. It's probably better to wait for her to shower, though. That takes longer, plus the shower will drown out any noise and you'll hear when she's done.

You look over and see Emily mindlessly web surfing on her laptop on her bed, paying you no mind. You decide to text Velvet and let her know your plan, and that she shouldn't expect any updates for a few days until you get to searching; you have your own classes to worry about. Velvet texts back, thanking you for helping her out and reminding you to stay quiet about it. Whatever she has in that lock box must be really important to her, you think. You send a few more messages back and forth until you've decided to meet up for lunch tomorrow after your morning classes.

One last thought does cross your mind before you fall asleep. Emily already gave you a small key yesterday. You know she told you it's the one to her boy toy's chastity cage, but you can't know for sure, not until you've used it to unlock something. Could it be the key that Velvet is looking for? You can't decide on getting her to try that key before you fall asleep.

What happens Monday morning?
