Who approaches?
A tour guide
As the shadow approached, Nicay smiled, “Ahh, this is Alay; he is a tour guide,” she said. “Alay, this is Mitch and Monica.”
Mitch and Monica both turned to look at the new comer. He was only about five feet tall, quite heavy set and heavily furred. His face was pointed into a muzzle, and he bowed to the two of them. “A pleasure,” he said. “I am not from here originally, but understand that your people have statues of my kind.”
Monica was blushing furiously, not so much because of his nakedness; she was expecting that in the Mythfolk world, it was more because of his balls. Alay looked like an anthropomorphic creature. He looked almost like a black racoon grown into a man and had a set of balls on him which were as ridiculous as it was astounding. Monica did notice that he was wearing jewellery, a kind of gold chain around his cock and balls, the delicate chain was embellished with various coloured stones hanging from short links of metal.
Before she could say anything, Mitch said, “You are a Tanuki? A Japanese creature of luck?”
He nodded, “We are not called that here, nor are we considered lucky, but yes, I am a Tanuki,” he paused for a moment, “You said a Japanese creature. What is a Japanese?”
Mitch and Monica looked at each other for a moment, “Well,” Monica began, “do you have countries here?” she asked. Both Nicay and Alay looked at each other. “Nations, umm, systems of government which separate one regional group from another?”
“Ahh,” Nicay said, “Tribes, yes.”
Monica frowned, “Well, kind of. A tribe, at least in our world, is a group of people with a like interest, well, unless you are talking about native peoples,” she paused.
Mitch put his hand on her arm. “Japan is a landmass that has a single governmental body. There are about 100 million people there.”
Alay seemed stunned, “They must occupy a huge land.”
Mitch laughed, “Not so much, but yeah, we don’t have Tanuki in our land. It is in a land far away.”
Alay turned away from them for a moment before saying, “Perhaps, there are multiple ways to go from our world to yours, and when the portals were last open, my homeland opened to this Japanese.”
“Japan,” Monica said, “Sorry, Japan is the land. Things that come from the land are Japanese.”
Nicay seemed annoyed, “You have one word for a place, and a sepaate but related word for a thing that comes from that place?”
Mitch laughed, “Well, I suppose I never really thought about it.”
“And,” Nicay continued, “the word for a thing that comes from a place adds the sound ‘ease’ to the word.”
Mitch laughed again, “That would make sense, but no. Things from Japan are Japanese. Things from Britain are British or English; I suppose things from America are American. So, it’s all different.”
Nicay shook her head, “If you have no pattern to your language, why do you have it? When I was learning English in your school, I was asked to address the issue. When I told the teacher that I came from the giant’s tribe on the plains by the river Mandra, I received what I can only say was annoyance.”
As Mitch tried to understand what Nicay meant, Monica laughed, “Yeah, I get that. Address can mean where you live, but address can also mean to deal with something, an issue etc.”
Nicay’s frown increased, “When you say issue, you do not mean a printing of information relevant for a short period?”
Now it was Mitch’s turn to laugh, “Oh God, I don’t think I ever realised how stupid English is.” He held his sides as he laughed, feeling like he would **** in mirth.
Monica smiled, “No, Nicay, an issue can be a periodic publication, but it can also be a problem to be solved.”
“Or, to give someone something,” Mitch added, “Issue a fine.”
Alay looked at Nicay, “English is very confusing,” he said. “I came over to offer my services, show you about, guide you and advise you in your shopping.”
Nicay nodded, “Alay is an excellent tour guide. He and his wife came here from far away but have become part of the community.”
Monica shot Mitch a look. “Well, Nicay said we should buy some jewellery, so I think that is the first thing we should do, and then we will see from there.”
“Excellent,” Alay said with a sharp turn to face Monica directly. His heavy sack swung lazily, and Monica was fascinated with it; his balls were preposterously large. “I will take you down to see Valki, though, be warned, he will likely ask to bed you,” he said frankly.
Mitch shrugged, “We are not opposed to any such thing,” he said.
Alay’s sack twitched at those words, “Well, we will get you some Jewellery, and then I will show you the town, my wife, Nekonie, may join us a little later.” Monica shot a look towards Mitch, which Alay noticed. “Oh please, do not misunderstand me, but if you are hoping we may share partners, Nekonie is not to every human’s tastes,” he said.
Mitch shrugged, “I’m not worried about fur,” he said.
Nicay and Alay exchanged a look, “Well, that is good, but Nekonie has no fur. She does, have a hard shell and many legs.”
Mitch blinked several times before saying, “I’m not expecting anything, so let’s go about our day and see what comes,” he said.
Alay clapped his hands, “Very well, let us go buy some jewellery.” He reached out a paw to help Monica up, and as she stood, she rubbed against his fur, it was soft and warm, and she wondered what it would feel like to be under this creature, feeling him within her.
Buying jewellery?
