Goes well and plans are made

The trail back was mundane and slow going with the heavy wagons but with the persistence of the pair, and Rovni passing the time by regaling her aunt with her time as a mercenary the first half of their journey passed on quietly and into the next day and a half of persistent travel they were pulling past the first settlements and hamlets Rovni had spied on her initial departure.

"Good pickings, think you can hit one?" Frine asked, hid in the covered wagon to avoid suspicion should they pass anyone, the other horses in the back tied to the lead wagon, and following along at a slowed trot.

"I think one of the smaller hamlets will be the next target, I have a plan there, on our first raid I freed and took in a **** girl, Vera, human, she is a part of the horde now, I plan to make her a scout, like myself she can walk into a human settlement with little risk." Rovni began, glancing at a small cluster of houses in the distance, "I will bring her with me and assess some targets, and when a choice is made we will be inside to create a distraction and I will pull the attention of any militia while you and the horde surround and move in."

"A sound plan, goblins are hard to pick out and admittedly effective night raiders." Frine stated simply, "Think they can pull it off though?"

"I admit my goblins need more training but I had them training to form a spear wall in my absence, a good starting point but we will need to drill them on some more combat tactics before we raid, and I want to do more to the settlement before then as well." Rovni replied, going over her mental list of tasks for her hoard.

"Think they will have trained in your absence?" Frine asked once more, peeking out at the hamlet.

"I have employed your teaching methods."Rovni replied with a simple grin, as a young woman the best reward she could receive was spending a night with her aunt, "The group of ten who make the quickest and most effective spear line gets me for a night."

Frine laughed at her nieces tactic and it took her several minutes to get her laughter back under control before making a coherent reply, "Aye, your goblins will have trained themselves to the point of a veteran legion for that, but what is this about improving your settlement?"

"That is far more mundane but necessary I am afraid, of the top of my head, you will need quarters tacked onto my hall, a bigger storage setup will be essential, more cages for whores, and at least the start of a palisade." Rovni listed off and Frine hummed in approval.

Soon a silence filled the air and with far less breaks then when she departed to see her father, the pair soon pulled of the road, Rovni guiding her aunt through with landmarks until they pulled into the glade, Rovni's settlement just visible, backed up against the lake.
